My wife and I spent 3 wonderful nights at the Sandbar. The bedroom we stayed and the common areas on the ground floor were very inviting and comfortable. Chris and his team went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant visit. Each morning there were two breakfast options (one savory, one sweet) and in the afternoon some homemade treats to go with the coffee and tea. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at the Sand Bar Cottage. The location was perfect. Chris and his staff were very professional and pleasant. Our room & bathroom were spacious. Our only negative comment would be that we did not receive housekeeping every day. The bed was never made up nor was the trash removed, at a minimum. The room fees were upwards of $425/per night. Housekeeping should be provided.

We loved staying here. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our room was great. We enjoyed the afternoon tea time treats. Coffee and tea were always avaliable. Our breakfast each morning was amazing. We loved the outdoor area options from eating out on the porch to sitting out in the garden. The location is great. It's close to all the restaurants and shops and a short drive to Acadia. This was our first time to Bar Harbor. Whenever we come back we will definitely be staying here again. Thank you Chris and staff. They made sure we had everything we needed.

The Sand Bar is hands down the most magical spot on the island. From the moment my husband and I stepped onto the property, we felt an instant connection. Chris, the sweetest innkeeper ever, welcomed us like old friends, and after four nights, that’s exactly what he became. He went above and beyond, making us feel completely at home. The property is a dream: the beautiful gardens, charming cottages, the welcoming porch, the character of the Inn all weaving together to create a haven of serenity. Mornings were lovely with amazing breakfasts, and in the afternoons, sweet treats became our little ritual, enjoyed on the porch as we soaked in moments we’ll treasure forever. Thank you, Chris, for making our stay so incredibly special. We’ll return, not just for the beauty of Sand Bar, but because of the magic you created for us.

Very special stay! We were welcomed with freshly made S’more cookies. Yum! Pleasant check-in with great tips for dinner. The room, a perfect delight with top amenities, especially the comfy bed. Live music to round of the evening. Full delicious breakfast. Thanks to the innkeeper Chris and his team.

The location was perfect and was key to a successful vacation. Street parking is a nightmare! Being able to have free safe parking on the property and shops and restaurants within walking distance made all the difference. The hospitality rooms are beautifully decorated and welcoming. Breakfast each morning was delightful and delicious! Our room was spacious and comfortable. Their staff especially Chris is very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely go back. Breakfast was wonderful at this B and B. Centrally located in downtown Bar Harbor, a quick 5 minute walk downtown but grounds, plants and trees help it to be quiet.

The property was cozy and beautiful. Chris was super accommodating of our vegan diet even on short notice and had the kitchen make delicious vegan breakfasts just for us. Our visit was super short but we'll definitely want to return to make the most of it next time.

Sand Bar Cottage Inn is the place to be while visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The entire property is absolutely stunning. So much time spent making sure each and every detail is perfect. From the art work covering the walls to the fresh flowers everywhere. Our favorite part about our stay was Chris, the Innkeeper. He made sure everything went smoothly and that we had the best honeymoon!

We adored our room at our stay in sand bar cottage. It had two rooms and a sitting area and was plenty of room for my husband and me with our adult daughter. Everything in the town was within walking distance. Acadia was a short drive away. The breakfasts were delicious and always allowed choices from two amazing options.

Lovely stay, delightful property, warm, friendly and helpful staff and innkeeper, Chris. He clearly loves his job and loves making people feel welcome. Good location, local musicians play around the patio/fire pit in the summertime. A real treat.

Excellent service, great breakfast, walk to downtown Bar Harbor.. but..i thought i booked a cottage. However we ended up in the 3rd floor (no elevator) of the main house. The trip up to the room with luggage and in general wasn't pleasant.

There was no heater in the room. The AC was just a cooler. There was no instruction at the time of check in on how I need to access the manager during the night since there was no reception. The night was cold and uncomfortable. Not even a 30 min sleep. Once I finally found the number, which was handwritten on a card in the room, called the manager at 6 am. he acted that there is nothing wrong and brought a portable heater and a blanket. he seems not to know that the AC is just a cooler as it was printed on the remote.

Our stay at The Sand Bar Cottages felt like we were staying in the home of a treasured friend. Chris, the Innkeeper, is beyond welcoming! Ready with recommendations for hikes, dinner, sunrise/sunset viewing, and more. Breakfast is 4-star delicious. So many wonderful features…too many to list.
