Me and my wife love this place…the fact this seemed to have turned into our anniversary get away weekend without the kids certainly helps the odds of of us liking it…but all around no issues. Only concern is the “pool director” who seems to prioritize the royal treatment of outsiders rather than hotel residents…enough with the “reserved” signs all around the pool for the folks who are only coming in half a day.

Well, Carthage Thalasso is one of best hotels in Gammarth area, Staff is very friendly and room service team is very responsive.
My stay was very enjoyable and definitely coming back!

I like everything in this hotel

The property is old and the food is terrible. Breakfast was sad. Does not cater to Vegetarians in any of the restaurants with a good and edible menu.

Property is ok air conditioning is the problem defiantly better than a regular hotel transportation is easy pool is good but a bit crowded during summer.

Hela, at the reception desk, was amazing. She cheerfully met all my requests with a smike

Nice place, people polite but not friendly. No restaurant outside the buffet only 2:00 hrs lasting and a very expensive nith ( starting at 20:00) dinner place

Overall my wife and I had a lovely impromptu couple of nights at Carthage Thalasso. The pool gets a little crowded with the day pool visitors but that’s totally understandable for them to make a bit more $ off of that. Pool side performers were great. The spa was a little underwhelming. Massage was fine but didn’t get the “experience” we typically do at other hotels that offer spa services. Overall, we would come back here for a relaxing weekend.

Very bad management they promised, and they do not deliver. I did complain couple of times about an issue. They promised to fix it and they never dead. The only person I would remember about this property is the housekeeping her name is Nabila.
I would never recommend it to anyone

My colleague and I had great stay at Carthage Thalasso. We had a ten day business trip and this hotel was an excellent choice. The breakfast was a delicious way to wake up each morning (be sure to ask for the mlawi with honey). There are many spaces for work and also areas for relaxation, like the spa, pool, or beachside. I found the hotel staff amazingly friendly and supportive - the staff are the real reason I would recommend the hotel. You’ll be sure to enjoy your stay. Gammarth is a nice area, several evenings we took walks along the beach to local bars and restaurants. When I come back, I will be sure to stay here again!!

Liked the access to the beach and the pool area.

Service was good and polite. Great pools. Drinks were good. Beach not too far from hotel, probably a 4 minute walk. Definitely would like to come back again.

Disengaged staff. Limited options. Old food, especially for breakfast, and very little awareness of basic breakfast needs (like coffee). Pool water not so good. Room AC not strong enough and I got stuffy nose from it.

the staff and the front desk were very helpful. However, I would like to see more variety in the breakfast. I was surprised to see only a few items in the breakfast for 5 starts hotel.

Loved that there was an indoor pool and a spa! I loved that there was close access to the beach and a great view from the hotel room! Unfortunately the room did smell a little like mildew to me.

It want as good as we expect, I would never recommend that place to anyone. Even though I pay all the cost they come up with hidden cost on 3 dinar each night as call city tax for both of us. Breakfast they didn't have the black tea and everytime we have to wait for 10 mintue to get it. Always problem bringing our own water or beer is a problem but after few conversation they let it go. Zacuzzi cost 20 dinar each person ever though in website is free. Part of hotel have dodgy massage parlour where they charge 80 to tourist but normal price in 60

Had my wedding here on the 1st of November and stayed in the hotel with my family and guests for a couple of days.
An absolute beautiful location, excellent food and friendly staff.
Rooms were clean and calm and everyone enjoyed the hotel the fullest.
Truly the hotel was like a dream.
I recommend this place immensely to every European planning to visit.
Two small negative points: in some rooms the drinking and the fridges were not filled + the taxis waiting outside the hotel.
The taxi driver waiting outside are rude and agressive people who charge every 4 times more expensive than it should. The hotel should do something about this as has a negatife reflect on the hotel.
I suggest everyone to ignore these drivers and go on the road and stop a driving taxi driver there.

Where do I start...I have no idea how anyone has given this place good reviews; they must have really low standards. I really cannot believe this is considered a 5 star hotel. It’s a 2 star hotel with a couple swimming pools. Stayed here 3 days. Upon check-in they asked me to have a seat and said they’d get me a drink while I wait; that drink never arrived, but no big deal. They put me into a room with an AC that would only run on low. I called reception and they send the maintenance guy to work on it- then he tried to convince me that it was on max and that’s just how it is. Finally after making me wait hours while they worked on it they finally agreed to put me into another smaller room with a functional AC. However, even their functional AC on max isn’t capable of really cooling down the room that much. Paid for half board so that I could have the convenience of having dinner at the hotel. Both lunch and dinner are the poorest buffets I have ever seen...2 star hotels offer better quality food. $40 (120 dinar) on top of your initial hotel fee ahead of time or 200 dinars at the door. You get 2 short buffet lines. One w/ salad, cake, fruit and another with rice, and meat. Here’s the funny part- drinks are not included (don’t mean alcohol) I got a coke and a water - charged me 12 dinars! You can get an excellent dinner outside for 50 dinar. Breakfast also poor. Coffee ran out and the waiter tipped the canister/grainy leftovers into a dirty cup for me. Overall a terrible hotel.

The hotel was excellent. It felt like a 5 star hotel. Breakfast included personally cooked omelettes, doughnuts (beignets) or pancakes. The swimming pool was very large and not too full. The beach was well maintained with sunshades and a bar/restaurant.
