We stayed at this hotel once before because they are pet friendly (including cats). It was a last-minute reservation due to our other plans being cancelled due to the hurricane. This time we got our room type choice but we were located next to/above the kitchen with loud air handlers outside (which scared our cat) and not as nice a view. But we enjoyed our stay. We went to the pool this time, which was small for a property this size but not crowded this time of year. We enjoyed the daily breakfast that came with our package. Service was great even though the staff were having to deal with working without the internet. We appreciated still having TV, as I understand TV was out at some places. The housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful and respected our request not to come in due to our cat being scared. We enjoyed the beautiful fish tanks that looked well maintained. The room was comfortable with a comfortable bed and bedding.

From beginning to end, this was a fabulous stay. All staff were very friendly and had dining suggestions. You have to splurge for the ocean front rooms. There is nothing like going to sleep and waking to the sounds of the ocean. The breakfast was also first class. Kudos to everyone!!!

Everything was great from start to finish. Loved the hot tub. One outdoor and one indoor swimming pool. Room was clean and comfortable. We had a room with a beautiful ocean view. Breakfast was good. Dinner was average bar food.

Great staff. Clean. We had a deluxe queen Oceanside and it was perfect. Two suggestions. One - please provide cushions for the balcony chairs. Yikes! Two - the light switch that illuminates the entry and coffeemaker was way back at the door. A three way switch would be a nice addition. But seriously this is a nice and well run property and I would return on another visit.

We had booked a different hotel for this trip but arrived to less than wonderful conditions. We went immediately back on Hotels.com and rebooked at this hotel and were completely happy with The Hilton Garden Inn! On the beach with a pier. Inside and outside pools and a huge jacuzzi! Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable! We had a side ocean view that we really enjoyed too. Breakfast in the Aviator restaurant was delicious (incredible bacon) and the Surf Shack close to the outdoor pool had lots of yummy lunch options and tasty frozen drinks!! A walk out on the pier added to the fun! We loved it and will definitely book here again!!

The only reason I had a problem with this is I feel like I paid for the most simple room. But it felt like it was not worth my 599 I paid. Also I called the day of asking for early check in and got a huge amount of attitude from the front desk women. Then on my way I received a call saying my room was ready and after I was rudely told how I could not get early check in that morning. Lastly breakfast is not included so after paying for a very plain room and costing around 500 some change for one night definitely was not worth it in my opinion.

We paid over $500 a night for an ocean front room. The room was small, balcony was small and there wasn’t much in the way of amenities. Fluorescent lightning throughout the hotel. Pool slightly dirty. Pool towels thin and worn and not stocked regularly. View was great and liked the area with seating by the pool that looked out over the ocean. I know it’s a 3,5 star hotel and it was peak season - hence the room rate, but a bit depressing to be paying so much for very a basic hotel room. Restaurant servers were very nice and accommodating but food was meh. Drinks were tasty.

Beautiful place and I really enjoyed seeing all the puppies on the property although I didn’t bring one. Lived the restaurant and the young adults working from other countries. Food was great! Aquariums were a nice touch! Pier location was wonderful. Hot tub & firepit were favorites-maybe extend time to 11pm, considering dinner can run late. It was my understanding that the beach umbrellas and chairs were complimentary according to the booking site, so please update that for future guests. Disappointed how few pool chairs were, definitely feel there could be at least another dozen added with the since available. Also would have been nice to have a server visit the tables for food/drink orders. Very few carts to load/unload your luggage. Perhaps if you attach a 59 minute timer to the cart, or sign the carts out by room number and to be refined by 1 hour, or attach a pole (higher than the door frame) so guests will not keep them in their room overnight, all guests will have use of them as needed. Snacks were very overpriced. Perhaps make a list of prices visible so you know ahead of time.

Front desk service was rude when inquiring with a question. Hard to keep the room cool HVAC averaged 76 degrees we had to ask for a fan very poor condition. No water pressure for a good shower. Last but not least we had to encounter a roof leak all night worried the ceiling would cave in from all of the water pouring in. Cable tv worked 50% of the time. No free coffee or pastries money, money ,money! We could not even get a menu to order food for the room. Vey disappointed at $500.00 a night. Will not return to this establishment.

Our check-in process was pleasant and quick. Our clerk was not aware of paper or electronic means of knowing about operating hours, ordering room service, etc. but we did discover this information through a QR code in our room and by the elevator. The hotel lobby is nicely decorated and has a breezy feel to it. Our room was large. We enjoyed having a side view of the ocean from our balcony and so did our cat! The hotel seems recently renovated; in fact, I believe the other side is still undergoing renovations. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. Enjoyed having two sinks in the bathroom! There was plenty of storage space. The pool and patio are much smaller than it appears on the website. There aren't many lounge chairs and the pool in right up against a dune and a deck over the dune. We didn't get around to using the pool. Beach chair and umbrella rentals are expensive. We appreciated having restaurants on site, especially for breakfast. The prices are a little high. We had one dinner there and I had the "jumbo lump crab cakes" that were definitely not made with jumbo lump crabmeat but rather regular crab meat. I meant to tell the manager later but didn't get around to it. The prepaid breakfast is definitely worth it. Portions were generous. The food was overall somewhat bland. Our dinner server made me a perfect mocktail according to my taste and dietary needs and I wish I had gotten her name. She was wonderful!

It’s newly refurbished so that was very nice. Other guests were very happy with the hotel and it really suited families with small kids. We were only passing through that part of the OBX so it was one night. The check in staff were lovely. On checkout my partner noticed one of the fish in the fish tank had a hugely swollen eye and kept slamming it into the glass. It looked really painful. She went to the desk and the gentleman was very curt. She then went to the manager and she was equally curt. She said that the issue was known to the person managing the fish and they were not allowed to have anything else to do with it. That was understandable but she curt, impatient and unfriendly again. Maybe they should understand that people are going to enquire and thank them. I recommend that they reach out again to ensure that the eye treatment is being attended to. We left the hotel with that unpleasant encounter as our memory of it.
