I cannot begin to tell to you how amazing this hotel is. I traveled with young children under 2 and they staff was so helpful with my food needs and even running out to get baby wipes for me. Super friendly, very professional. Domenica was at the front desk and was a gem! Super nice and always had a smile on her face. Very efficient too. Paul was very kind and warm hearted. Always willing to help and once again always has asking on his face. Faiber was amazing!!!!!! Always gracious and will to help. This overall stay for my family (total of 8) was amazing. We loved it! What a beautiful hotel and country! We will be back. Also you must try the zoo!!! Be prepared for a hike and wear proper hiking boots/ sneakers.

Lovely hotel, very boutique and beautiful, walking distance from the town centre (5 minutes) and easily accessible - no lift for access to the first floor but plenty of ground floor rooms if necessary for any disability requirements. Restaurant is on the ground floor

We thoroughly enjoyed our three days at the Mansion Alcazar Boujtique Hotel. The grounds were stunning and the main reception/lobby area was beautiful. Our room over looked the garden area and was airy and spacious. The staff was gracious and very helpful . . . they went out of their way to serve us! If we have the opportunity to visit Cuenca again, we will certainly stay there again.

Beautiful Boutique Hotel in the center of Cuenca
6.0
I was so excited to visit Mansion Alcazar as it used to be one of my favorite hotels in the world. I was sad to find tacky plastic flowers in the room instead of the beautiful rose bouquets that made them special. They also stopped turn down service. And the food at the hotel which was always a highlight, this time was run of the mill. Service was also not great, which was surprising as there were hardly any guest. It was an overall disappointment.

A very cool, historic property right in the middle of the historic district. The hospitality was top notch. Grounds were beautiful and quiet. Our only issue was a very squeaky floor in our suite.

The Mansion Alcazar is a very beautiful hotel to stay at. It was clean, modern and a most beautiful garden. The staff was exceptional especially Veronica and Dominica. They were so accommodating and so to all of our requests while at the hotel. The breakfast is excellent as well. We enjoyed my stay at Mansion Alcazar, and will stay there again when I visit Cuenca. Thank you to the entire staff. Everyone was professional, courteous, pleasant, warm and treated us in such a respectful and friendly manner.

My family and I had a wonderful experience at Mansion Alcazar. The rooms and the garden are absolutely beautiful. The staff at this property are all great! They all go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Please give Miguel and Veronica an award for outstanding service!
We took advantage of the downtown location to walk to dinner, check out a couple of cathedrals and get fresh ice cream!
They also have a great restaurant with a delicious menu!

Our suite was spacious and charmingly appointed with an eclectic array of antique furnishings and accessories. We had to call the front desk for more hangers, but there was enough closet and drawer space for us to store away all of our clothing—but not all of our shoes, unfortunately.
There was a welcome note with a little crystal dish of enormous and delicious strawberries, as well as a couple of Pacari chocolates (be sure to visit them across the street). Bathrobes were provided (but not slippers), and we were pleased to find L’Occitane amenities in the bathroom.
The bathroom was a little small for a suite, with just a walk-in shower and a and a single vessel sink mounted on an antique dresser. The towels provided were not very plush and appeared to be years-old.
We slept reasonably well in the king-sized bed, but we were disappointed but the poor quality of the linens and pillows (thin and lumpy, with a synthetic fill).
Also disappointing was the included breakfast at La Cocotte restaurant (it is no longer “Casa Alonso”). As other reviewers have noted, the offerings were rather meagre.
Overall, we really enjoyed our three-night stay at Mansion Alcazar. It’s a handsome hotel in a perfect location, and the staff is so friendly and hospitable. I appreciate the building’s heritage, and the charm of the antique furnishings, but most of them now need to be reupholstered. It is also time to replace and upgrade the mattresses and bedding.

Great room - we had booked a king bedroom and got a 2 room suite which had a a large living area with beautiful antique furniture and an updated bedroom. The attached bathroom had L’occitane toiletries and was completely updated.
The hotel ambience was fantastic combining the antique/grand with the modern , nice lobby , beautiful garden dining area and evening events.
Most importantly, the front desk team of Dominica and Veronica were exceptional and truly went above and beyond.
