Nice little boutique hotel. Spacious, no frills room with fairly large bathroom, small balcony (no chairs), firm beds. Easy walk to Plaza Mayor, palace, cathedral, metro station, restaurants. Lovely breakfast buffet.

This hotel had a really good location near the Plaza Mayor but this location was extremely busy and crowded. Mostly, this was enjoyable but sometimes was a bit overwhelming. The downstairs bar, breakfast room and hallways were beautifully decorated. Our complaint would be with the lack of room amenities. The shower stall was a very small corner unit. We received only a small packet of tissues each rather than a box of tissues. The bathroom sink was attractive but too shallow if you wanted to wash out clothing items. The TV was antenna and not cable so there were no American/English channels. There are no USB ports, no face towels, only one wastebasket, bathroom divider was translucent so if you turned a light on in the bathroom the bedroom would be lighted, and bathroom noises were easily heard in the bedroom. It should be noted that the hotel was very clean, had good lighting in the room, and the staff was helpful.

Housekeeping staff are great!

Contemporary décor for the bedroom and functional and modern bathroom. The breakfast buffet and location the best we have seen in Europe.

Located in a very lively area, we expected some noise at night, but that exceeded our expectations, it's Madrid after all. The hotel was remodeled nor far ago, everything looks update and clean. Rooms are on the small size, but for a couple with very little luggage, there are perfect. Pros: breakfast! Amazing! even better than some 5 star hotels, and the breakfast area is beautiful, perfect setting and illumination, nice music on the background. Cons: the architect that designed the bathrooms didn't thought of security, the shower ended in a pointed corner sticking out, and the huge sink with less than two inches deep, had corners pointed corners too. Overall, a very nice hotel that definitely we will go back.

Uniquely decorated and beautiful hotel! We enjoyed our stay. It was clean with the amenities needed and very centrally located. Plus the staff was great.

Breakfast is deliciuos and staff are superb. Will be back in October, Noviembre and April 2025. A true gem. Muchas gracias!

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Francisco! The front desk is super helpful and the staff service was exceptional. Rooms were very clean and the location can’t be beat! The breakfast buffet was delicious! Definitely recommend this place.

This hotel was in a great location, very close to the city center and easily walkable to several metro stops. The room was very nice and clean and the air conditioning worked well even though the daytime temperatures were approaching 100F (38C).

Great location in the heart of the city

Lovely property with an amazing location, the only issue was that on Expedia the doble bed room shows as "sleeps 3" we showed up with our daughter of 7 yrs and the older man receptionist force us upgrade to their bigger suite for an extra €50 per night, I asked him if it was necessary? And he reply we "have to upgrade to fit my daughter" it was a long flight so I said yes without thinking, the new room was great no complaint on that but if they advertise as "sleep 3" they shouldn't force you to upgrade rooms to fit 3. Other than that the hotel is great, amazing location and great stay for us.

Nice location, clean, helpful and friendly staff, very nice buffet breakfast included, discreet entrance.
Only negatives were super firm (uncomfortable) bed, unable to change air conditioner temperature ( got way too cold) Only a sheet on the bed—no blanket, or coverlet. Had to ask for a blanket ( which was delivered promptly) because air conditioner was super cold. This was on late July.
Would stay there again despite negatives, though.

This is our favorite hotel in Madrid! We’ve been coming here for the last 6 years at least once/year. The hotel is very well decorated, the staff is attentive and very helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. Last but not least it is in a perfect location between 2 main metro stations and everything (tourist wise) is walking distance.

Amazing hotel, incredible staff. The location was convenient to many sites of Madrid. Lots of close by food and shopping options. Breakfast was beautiful with lots of options; definitely worth adding it. Our room was comfortable with a great bed, lots of storage for luggage and a big terrace. The only small complaint is the door to the bathroom does not afford a lot of privacy.

The hotel staff was absolutely amazing. They were very friendly and provided excellent customer service. The hotel is also in a great location and was relatively close to many attractions. The hotel lobby was beautiful and had a lot of space for gathering/socializing, including a rooftop bar and outdoor patio.
The room size was pretty small, but would be comfortable if staying alone. Overall it was a great experience.

The staff at the front desk were kind and helpful with checking in. The cleaning staff were excellent and very friendly.
Mai who is the lead bartender and restaurant manager was an amazing addition to this wonderful staff and location in the heart of Puerta Del Sol, Madrid. Leaving the hotel I felt as though are week long stay connected me to the city of Madrid and the staff at Hotel Francisco I.

They treat me as an Expedia VIP WITH LESS courtesies than other customers. They did not include the breakfast because I booked through Expedia

The service staff at the bar, breakfast buffet, and for room cleaning were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was centrally located and the rooms were modern, clean, and spacious. I definitely would give them five stars.
But I lowered my ratings because the reception staff was not accommodating or helpful. They weren’t the most hospitable considering that is an important part of their job and the first interaction that guests would have with the hotel. A friendly greeting was hard to come by.
We came to Madrid so that we could do a day trip to Segovia. We asked for information on how to get there. The receptionist said she’d get the information for us in the morning. But she failed to do so. The receptionist who worked that day provided us information to take the train but didn’t provide us information on hotel tours to Segovia. Unfortunately we only found out about this when we came back to the hotel after not being able to get on the train due to it being full. We asked him why didn’t he tell us about their hotel tour but he didn’t answer us. We gave up hope in going to Segovia. Later that day another receptionist said we could take have taken the bus but it was already too late for us. The bus was already full. The former receptionist failed to tell us that taking the bus. He had several opportunities to give us information to get to Segovia. We felt he couldn’t be bothered to help us. He was aloof and he just didn’t care and we have VIP status.

The air conditioner at the property was not working two out of the four nights we were there. There were no fans available either. The hotel staff simply told us that the conditioning part had been ordered from France and it could arrive anytime. The rooms are also a little tight And there’s no door to the bathroom.

Location, location, location. 5 minutes away from Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol and Palácio Real. 2 metro stations very close by. Staff was very friendly. Great breakfast.
4.6
Terrible experience. Our air did not work the whole time. Our room was 32/92 degrees all night we were unable to sleep. This ruined our trip. Staff did nothing. Told us to book another hotel and did not offer refund. Expedia did nothing to help as well. Will be our last time using Expedia and would highly recommend no one staying here.

Great location in the center of restaurants, attractions and shopping. The service was great, the rooms comfortable unfortunately, the refrigeration wasn’t working the first day. We complained and the problem was solved right away. Happy to have stayed here.

For the past 7 years , I have stayed at Francisco I Hotel. It is a great boutique hotel in the middle of Madrid Center. For the most part, the workers are amicable and will assist you as much as they can. The rooms are modern and clean. The breakfast room was just remodeled, and it is beautiful and very well organized. Next to it, they created a very nice working space. They did a great job with this new and expanded addition. However, I must warn future clients that the AC unit broke down. On Thursday, July 4th, 2024 the AC unit stopped working and could not be fixed because they were waiting for some part that they need to be fixed. We left July 5, and they were not sure if the part(s) was/were going to arrive by this upcoming weekend. The staff tried to help its customers by giving out fans or offering another nearby hotel to stay at. Because of the inconvenience, I requested some kind of compensation but it was denied. I was still charged 578.52 Euros to my credit card regardless of the sleeping in a hot room. I was disappointed even though it is a great little boutique hotel.
