Lovely room at the end of the boardwalk, we felt safe and it was quiet. The lobby was relaxing. We didn’t realize it, but there was a show there that was so fun, we spent the night in the lounge in the back of the hotel. It has a funky fun vibe, a bit retro. Staff was nice.
4.3
Great hotel right next to The Stone Pony where we had tickets to hear our favorite band. Great access to the boardwalk and beach.
4.3
Great location and very good value. Balcony overlooking pool was nice. Having a night club on the property made it a very short walk at the end of the night. Every staff member including bartenders were friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the elevator wasn't working with no insight when it would be back up.

We had a great time at the Empress. We had planned to go to the beach but instead sat and drank at the pool all day. It was so nice. You can’t beat its location and its price.
4.3
Clean pool area, clean room, no complaints at all! Plus, great location.

This hotel is a classic! Super sweet people, the convenience to the beach and board walk was amazing. Be prepared the music is loud till 2am so if you go to bed early I would be advised to bring ear plugs of some sort. Also make sure to bring an extension cord. Super great will stay again

Kristin is amazing and a great manager.
4.3
The room was a standard room with two queen beds. It was clean and exactly what we needed. We had an ocean view! The bathroom doesn't have any counter space BUT there is a spacious medicine cabinet. The pool is clean, great music and drinks are strong and affordable!!

Worst experience in 30 years of traveling. The employee who works the overnight shift should be unemployed. He was the rudest most unprofessional person I’ve ever encountered. I guess asking where the parking is located so that my handicapped friend could get out of the car after a six hour drive was too much work for this vile human. BBB has been notified.

There is no fridge. The bed was super firm and it was so loud at night we couldn’t sleep. Definitely would never stay here again. Especially with how expensive it is.
4.3
Great time. Walking distance to the Stone Pony

It was very "different"
4.3
Amazing stay right on the boardwalk
4.3
Great location with parking included, nice pool and bar.

Parking was a nightmare. It is close to the beach which is amazing. The decore definitely needs updating and could use a small refrigerator in room.

Everything is good

Fantastic staff especially Kristen! She was so helpful and gracious helped us with checking in and explaining the pool and nightclub passes, could not have asked for better service. Room could have been a little cleaner, there were cigarette butts on the balcony and one by the chair in the room. There was a bra left behind next to the chair, shower had hair on the walls. But for what empress is it was fine would definitely stay again.

No employees smiled, inquired about the stay, greeted you when passed, were helpful on the phone. They all seemed miserable. Renovations are desperately needed. They realize the location is key, so why do anything, and keep charging 4 star rates for 2 star hotel.
4.3
Very convenient and close to the shore & shops.

I paid almost 438$ for a room that didn’t even have a phone or. A refrigerator or microwave in it when the page plainly states it in the amenities. I had food and beverage to put in the fridge when I got home from being out to find out there was no where to put it and when calling they said it is only with certain rooms purchased. That is a standard I don’t think should be limited for paying for a room thot much just saying
4.3
The people are wonderful, service is terrific, we just love spending time at Empress!!!
4.3
I just wish we’d known prior to staying that it was a drag hotel , we felt out of place and the night club was much too loud for a hotel built in 1961 that was designed to be soundproof , sleeping was a nightmare
4.3
Great location, friendly staff and standard basic clean room - value for your money. Free parking

For me, it has a perfect location... near the boardwalk, and the restaurants on Cookman... Wonderfull!

Only stayed one night but the stay was perfect for our needs. Right on the boardwalk and next to The Stone Pony. Couldn’t get any better than that. Room was clean and neat. Nothing bad to say.
4.3
So clean and comfortable.
4.3
Staff very rude while checking in and checking out. Claimed I was never checked in when I went to check out.

Really wonderful stay at this Mid Century VIntage Gem! Great vibes all around! The room was spacious and clean. The hotel is comfortable and right across the street from beautiful Asbury!

Nobody told us that it was a gay bar and I was kind of offended

It’s a block from the beach. The rooms are large. Front desk arriving was nice but a female was a little rude in the night and morning saying she was The Manager when another man who was very nice already told me he was. She hid lots so I had to wait at an empty front desk. They put out coffee and grocery store muffins, in the morning and bread and the cheese cheese baby containers and cream cheese in the morning. Across the street and a couple blocks away are some restaurants it’s really next to the boardwalk. You do have a great lobby if you need to meet a friend. Children are not allowed to stay here and at night it turns into a nightclub which you can go free with pool tables, alcohol, games and drag shows. It did not bother my sleep or room which was quiet. There is no refrigerator or microwave in the room. It is likely fun in the summer when the pool is open. The male manager was extraordinary nice and a woman named Kristen and another young girl with blue eyes. It was very thin girl with dark hair and dark eyes that was snobby and a little rude and you could not find her at the desk when she was supposed to be working. Maybe she was high.
4.3
Great and accommodating staff.
4.3
Great location, quiet rooms (even with a nightclub downstairs), super accommodating staff. We had a sink issue at check-in and Ryan got us switched to a new room right away AND brought us a mini-fridge at our request.
4.3
Not a place to stay on a weekend if you want to sleep before 2:30 am. Most of the rooms are above the dance and show rooms on the main floor and even though we were on the 3rd floor the bass from the music downstairs was shaking the walls and rattling the plumbing in the bathroom.
4.3
Room was clean but definitely no frills. You could hear loud club music until it closed around 2 even on the fourth floor. One of the bars was freezing because they kept the doors open. I was there for a function but would probably not stay there again. Expensive for what you get.
4.3
Small room
4.3
Great place to celebrate a birthday
4.3
wonderful stay clean friendly fast check in. Handicap parking on street without having to pay. I’m sure night club was jumping but show begins past my bed time. Straight people might be intimidated because it’s a trans atmosphere
