I am a touring comedian of over 30 years and there are many times you need a break from the routine, overpriced, packed hotels…the Cheshire Inn was one of the most comfortable, quiet, quaint, homey, inns I have ever stayed at! So much in fact, that I spent all 3 nights there…there is a great sushi place and BBQ in walking distance and anything you need…parking is huge and great and the staff is wonderful…5 stars!!! Will be back!

Could have had chairs on the patio and the bar of soap quality could be better.

I would give this place a negative if I could!!! My significant other and I went here not expecting any frills. Which was fine because we just needed a clean room to sleep in. Instead, what we thought was clean, wasn't! There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom so the whole room filled up with steam. Which makes for a breeding ground for mold! Turns out the inside of the built in AC unit (I pulled out the screen filter) is where I found what looked like black mold all over the screen/filter that is inside the machine. So the whole time the AC was blowing air at us it was also blowing mold! Every time you move in the bed you stir it up! Within 10 minutes of going in the room, my allergies started. I took 100mg of Benadryl and that made my allergies tolerable. We left early bevause I have asthma and I was having issues breathing! I haven't used my inhaler in 10 years! Could have used it that night! Don't go if you have respiratory issues or allergies!!!

This is a reasonably priced road-side motel with decent accommodations. We weren’t crazy about the small bathroom with the triangular shaped vanity, but for a one night stay, it was fine.

Small room but clean and comfortable.

Nice basic clean room. Desk attendant was very pleasant. Cheshire is very nice with sufficient restaurants close by.
Cute place!

Dated but clean. Beds were comfortable, towels were plush. Perfect for our 2 day stay to visit family in the area at a very reasonable price.

This is a very nice place to stay in Cheshire. The room looked very clean and was larger than expected. The person that checked us in was very friendly. Overall great place to stay if you’re in the area.

Room was somewhat run down with peeling paint and stained sheets. Hotel is located on a main street and there was traffic noise. Also, the room air conditioner cycled on and off very loudly, so sleep was interrupted and warmth and coolness of the room varied.

The property was adequate for my short stay. The pillows were uncomfortable and the ac was extremely loud. Other than that the rooms were very clean.

I was from 9pm to 9am each night. Otherwise I was away at graduation and reunion at the school where I taught from 1960 to 2004.The inn was very clean, comfortable,
functional, and affordable: basics were good, not fancy and with few frills - KS bed, firm mattress, efficient heat/ac: clean but very basic bathroom {sink drain slow, satisfactory but not soft linen, tub clean without safety bars, good and sufficient lighting, desk w/.comfortable rolling & padded chair, small bedside cabinets4 bed linen clean and well made up. At check in and out the young clerk was very personable. When I left behind some items he called in half an hour, left a message and
I retrieved them quickly and conveniently. It was just what I needed for this 3-day stay at graduation/reunion.

Cheshire Welcome Inn is a motel in every sense. The room was extremely small, thin blanket in faux duvet with sheets. Very dated, dark decor and the bathroom was old too. We were woken up at 8:24am by the hotel phone asking us to move our car because they were paving the parking lot! No prior warning and no compensation offered. I asked for monetary compensation and the front desk person, Sonny, said he’d have to ask his boss and call me. I doubt anything will happen.

Lights over the bed are too low, if you want to sit up and read in bed near your nightstand, you will hit your head. Cold, laminate flooring, no carpeting. Would have brought my slippers had I known.

We only stayed 1 night, the check in was easy it took less than 5 minutes. We arrived a few hours prior to stated check in time and they checked s in and gave us key to our room no questions asked. The room is large with a small attached room with counter, chair, and coffe maker. There is a Sushi place across the street, A dairy queen, dunkin donuts an a liquor store all within 2 blocks easily in walking distance.

We have stayed at the Cheshire Welcome several times over the last 3 years, and this time was disappointing. There seems to be a high turnover in personnel these days, especially at the front desk. We reserved for a 2 night stay, and when we returned to our room at the end of of the day the first night, our bed had not been touched nor was the trash emptied or the used cups or towels replaced. When we called to ask for cups and towels, a gentleman came with a couple of bath towels, but no cups. I wish I could give a better review because it is a small family owned business, but the all of the rooms are in dire need of a good remodel, too, so much so, we will not be returning.

When i arrived there was a note on the office saying to call a number because the employee was somewhere else "working" meanwhile its freezing and flurrying outside. Finally the man comes so i go back to the office door only to have to wait again in the weather while he is on his cell phone which he continued throughout the majority of our interaction. The room was disgusting to say the least. The sheets were stained and yellowed with 3 beat up pillows that could have been 30 years old on a king size bed. The chrome finished shower head was coveded in black gunk. The phone was sticky and would only work on speaker. The room was freezing when we walked in and it smelled really bad. There were red splatters all over the wall in the bathroom so god only knows what that is. So I told the man at the front desk and he tried to show me another room that was no better. a
He then refused to give me a refund stating no one else has had a problem and that it wasn't his decision. His deceit was exposed by the travelosity agent advising the hotel is refusing. He was rude and ignored me multiple times. He also argued that it was not black mold on the shower head because they just passed their inspection. Im not kidding! Luckily i was able to recover half of what i spent from Travelocity but be warned people this place is NOTTTTTT even remotely close to the 8.4 rating. They clearly must have fabricated for themselves. Id say this place is more of a 3 out of 10 if i were to be generous.
