Stayed in the small room with the garden view which was very small, comfy bed. Bathroom had a few issues, shower not very warm and water appeared on the floor from somewhere. Shower door doesn't close and the sink plug was permanently down. Could do with some repairs / tlc.

Lovely, cosy, quirky retreat. Had everything we needed. Bed very comfy. Excellent communication from the owner. Very short walk to the City. Perfect

Easy to find, 14 minute walk from Chester Station. Shops and plenty of food places to buy food for lunch and dinner and restraunts close by. I spoke with Claire, she was lovely, helpful and made me feel very welcome and at home. I highly recomend Maison Claire. I would definitely stay again.

Centrally placed for all sites and attractions. Clean and modern, fantastic for our stay.

Entry is by a code given by the landlady. The room was very small but comfortable. Tea and coffee supplied in the room. The lighting in the toilet/shower room was too dim for shaving. Generally, its a cosy place. The landlady was very pleasant and couldn't have been more helpful. I would happily stop there again.

Room was poor. Damp and cold. We asked for the heating to be on and we given a small fan heater. The room was dusty. Wall paper bubbling away from wall. Shower poor. Towels tiny and thin. No toiletries just a used empty shower gel bottle in shower. Cushions on bed stained. Felt dirty and not Covid safe. Booked breakfast for day two - Clare told us to text her time we wanted breakfast. It wasn’t ready and Clare explained she had been out drinking night before and was running late. She then burned our breakfast and put burned side of omelette reface down hoping we wouldn’t see it. She said she had burned pan. All smoke alarms going off. Food swimming in grease. Not sure whether she was still drunk! She did take breakfast coat off bill but I felt quick sick after. All in all totally overpriced stay. Shabby, dirty and a big let down. Amateur.

Clean practical room, The rate was advertised with breakfast included but they don’t do breakfast so bit misleading.
Said they had told Hotels.com several times to change it but they haven’t but do think maybe the hotel should remove their business from the site or do more to make sure the room is advertised correctly. Also makes me wary of using Hotels.com as how many more properties are advertised incorrectly.

On arrival, had to phone to get combination of KeySafe - places rather high to left of door, if old or partially sighted you would struggle to gain entrance with combination. Decor very nicely thought out - as a solo traveller I stayed in room 4. I found the bed to be noisy and uncomfortable as to bouncy. I woke at 3am and drove back to London. I sent a text at 6am to say I departed and would not require breakfast while driving using-hands free. Only to receive a rather sarcastic & angry response. No effort to ask dietary needs. I they put as much effort in quality of beds as in design & decor then I would have given them an ok review.

We had a few plumbing issues but were able to move rooms.
The decor is unusual but we really liked that.
Claire couldn’t do enough for us to make our stay a pleasant one.
We’ll be back 😊

Dissapointed greeting was you are early when booking said from 10.30 am which owner blamed on booking site then said we had to pay for breakfast which we booked in advance as well. Not at all what we call luxury the wallpaper was exotic!
It did have a good location on fringe of town with carpark over the road

Everything OK, real near to town center, very small room and NO FREE parking as advertised. Parking fees from 18:01 to 11:00 to other day was 11 pound.

Beautiful, cozy, little place run by the sweetest lady. Not only told us all about the town, but also helped us find a place in the place we were headed.

Lovely hostess, comfortable but small room, very clean with lovely breakfast. Best thing though and why you should defiantly book this property is it’s 10/10 location. So close to Chester town centre and it has a very secure, very cheap car parking station just across the road. For the location there is no better priced or comfortable B&B. Highly recommended for those wanting to explore Chester, walk its wall and be safe and well looked after. Excellent value for money thank you.

Excellent location with reasonably priced parking just across the road. Getting into the property was no problem; a call to the owner as requested in the reservation confirmation meant someone was there to let us in. We had an upstairs room, lovely decoration and quiet. The cooked breakfast was excellent and well worth the additional fee. We would definitely stay again and recommend it.

My stay at Maison Claire, at 2 St Ann Street on Tuesday evening, 14 May, 2019, was the single worst experience I can recall in over fifty years of visiting and staying in the UK, and in several visits to Chester over those years. I have never before written to complain of any British accommodation, but feel I must do so now.
I had pre-booked my stay on Expedia. After a long day which began with a 7:35 AM train from London Euston to Stafford, a day’s work in Stafford, and a train to Chester, I walked from the Chester rail station to find Maison Clair around 6 PM. I am 76 years old, had lugged my bags from the station, and was extremely tired. I expected a warm welcome, some advice about where to go for dinner, and a rest in what describes itself as a ‘luxury’ B & B.
I rang the bell…and no one answered. I rang several times with the same result. I then noticed a phone number on the door: it appears that the management does not stay in the premises, but expects guests to ring up for instructions on how to get into the building. This was not indicated when I booked, and it was little use to learn of it on arrival: I have no mobile phone!
So, there I was, very tired, standing on a street corner in a fairly isolated area, with no access to the room I had booked let alone any welcome, with heavy bags, on a hot and sunny late afternoon. After a few minutes, I wandered with my bags through the neighbourhood until I came to an office building. I entered in the hope th

I am not too happy with the detail that show on website FREE PARKING. Not true, you need to pay £11 for car park if you stay until 9.00am or more than that if longer
.
No parking allow in the nearby area even after 8.00 pm. If you drive here shoud be aware. I don’t like because I need to save money for short night.
But anyway Claire very nice people.

Good B&B, lovely welcoming owner & a great location. Only downside was that the central heating broke down & it was -4 overnight & obviously our tiwels remained wet too. No fault of the owner, just unfortunate.

Nice little B&B. Staff were lovely. We would stay there again. And very close to the City centre
2.5
Chose this B&B due to its convenient location for a conference. It's also really convenient for the centre of Chester and the bus and railway stations. It's on a busy road and parking is limited but this was more than made up for by the friendly welcome and a hostess who was keen to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Comfortable, has everything you'd need, and a lovely breakfast.

Owner Claire couldn't have been more helpful: our car broke down and was towed away by AA. Claire offered to help and let us on our way.The inclusive Continental B/Fast was more than adequate although we were offered a cooked B/fast at £5 per head. Her attention to detail, and the plaque saying"house run with love" was so true.Car park opposite with pay on exit facility. Sadly the space outside would be great for parking but Tkt lady on prowl!

The check in had to be done by mobile phone once at the hotel, and they gave you the code to get front door key out of safety box. The proprietors obviously do not live on premises. I had phoned day before and at third attempt actually spoke to the lady to confirm our arrival time, her mobile had no facilities for leaving message. Décor in hotel rather quirky to my mind. Continental breakfast sufficient.

No internet connection, also they are miss selling on your site saying they have parking. But, it is off road parking which at customer’s own risk which is available after 6pm. Infact after 6pm you can park anywhere in Chester. Not just at their hotel

Location excellent, room clean & breakfast fine but when arrived no answer. Rang the number beside door (good job had a mobile phone) to be told just popped out although we had tried to let them know arrival time day before. Then went through complicated faff to get in & not v impressed with this.

Claire and her daughter, who checked me, in were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fine and so was the location.
However, my booking could not be found when I was checking in and they then tried to charge me more than the rate I had booked the room at. The room was very tired and old fashioned and rather dirty, the bathroom was very mouldy too. The shower also did not switch on so I couldn't have a shower in the morning!!!
I overheard the host saying to another guest that she gives a much better service and prefers to look after guests who book directly with her rather than through hotels.com which I thought was an unnecessary comment.

Guest House was very comfortable and clean. Claire kept me very informative and her communication was very good.
Claire was very welcoming at breakfast time and was very accommodating to support us by letting us keep our bags their while we did a bit of shopping.
Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
