Staff was helpful with recommendations. This property was not conducive to families. Needed to be super quiet. It was terribly difficult to enter and leave. Air did not work. The room was 90 plus degrees. We all sweated terribly and now they are asking us to pay 300 plus euro for a new mattress claiming someone wet the bed. They said they’d get us a water taxi. Taxi was 20 minutes late and we almost missed our flight. It was terribly difficult to get our luggage up the stairs. Tunnel entrance was frustrating!!!! No staff around. NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. You weren’t allowed food in the room. They provided no water. I would not recommend this to anyone. We did not sleep. Terribly uncomfortable.

The host was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely come here again! From the location to the beautiful rooms, everything was perfect!

This is a gorgeous family owned castle in a very nice part of the main Island of Venecia. Antonio, his wife and daughter are lovely people, very kind and accommodating and made us feel at home. We had a balcony which had a fantastic view of a canal with gondolier station. A central location full of restaurants, shops and coop (market). It was also far away from crowds and quiet. Highly recommend!!

We received a fantastic welcome, and were looked after well during our stay. We thought the hotel was in a brilliant location away from the crowds but where you can still feel the Venice heartbeat. There are plenty of nice places to eat nearby. Its easy to get around and close to the station and water stops. We are a family of 4 and came by waterbus from the airport and it was an easy walk to the hotel from the waterbus stop. We then walked to the train station when we left. Our room, with a window looking straight onto the water, was perfect. This was our first stay in Venice and we wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else.

hidden $20/day cleaning fees that were presented as "taxes"

I would have liked the bathroom in the room not down the corridor. I felt I was disturning other guests using the batroom.

Just read their response back to other individuals and you can see... they love to argue. They are truly UNPROFESSIONAL. I wish I had known this before I booked and that is the only reason why I am sharing because THEY were the ones who ruined my vacation. When people are on vacation, they want to relax. You won't get to relax here. They charge fee after fee. Expect to pay about $50 dollars more (cash only) after the whole experience is over. They also expect you to write down your credit card info (I mean all of it) which made me very uncomfortable. Most hotels just swipe it and leave a hold, but they aren't most hotels. They post signs like no food in the room. They watch you like a hawk when you enter and leave. You feel like you are under surveillance. The overall experience was not pleasant. More reasons? It was not as comfortable as advertised. Downfeather? Not even close! The blanket was paper thin. The mattress was paper thin. The TV was not even plugged in. The air con was not cold. There was not enough outlets in the room. For the price I paid, I expect much better. I would expect this service if I was paying the lowest budget hotel, but the price was comparable to most in the area. Also, when I gave this negative feedback, they confronted me early in the morning (like when I just woke up) and demanded that I take this review down. After I refused and left, they sent me a email telling me that they are the best and that I was wrong for thinking they weren't.

Amazing stay. The staff go out the way to help you out. Very clean. The building is an 1400 year old palace, but the rooms are completely modern and stylish. The location is perfect. Within the culture, close enough to the tourist sites, but far enough to really relax and enjoy.

Location was good. However, hotel was not accommodating with information. For instance, I asked for the double bed to be made and “No” was the quick reply because we did not pay for that. We only rented a queen bed. I asked for 2 extra pillows...reply no because I did not pay for that in our reservation. Website should say all this info in reservation form. “Additional bedding and pillows are not available.” Also, we asked to store our families 4 suitcases for 3 hours in our room while they waited for the taxi. Reply was a very rude “NO, not the hotel policy.” We asked for supervisor or someone who could help....reply, “No one available.” Also asked to pay extra to store luggage. again a very rude “No”! I would pick another place to stay in Venice. We will NEVER stay there a again.

Lovely couple run the bed and breakfast. This is NOT a hotel. More like a small Inn. Well taken care of with great hosts. Cool old Venetian building and furnishings.

The property was easy to find. Before we arrived we emailed the property and they let us know which water bus stand to get off at, which was only a 5 minute walk from the property - which was really helpful. Some of the rooms dont have ensuite bathrooms and we had one of those rooms but we were given a key to a private bathroom down the hallway. Room itself was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable.

The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. They went out of their way to give us a map and provide us with some information about things to do. The room size was great, and provided more than enough space for the two of us. We however have but two complaints: 1. The AC unit didn't work, and the room got quite warm, even with the temperatures outside being in the 50s. 2. There was no water kettle/heater or coffee maker, which was a bit of a bummer.

Great location. Helpful staff. Charming room. But there was not so much as a glass in the room, nor were there even tissues. Wifi was spotty at best. And there is a 20 euro per night fee for cleaning, payable in cash upon arrival. Yes, it is mentioned in the fine print, so take note. We liked the room, the staff and the convenient location out of the fray, with lots of restaurants in the immediate area. Walking to the main sites was no more than 20 minutes.

The check in is at 4pm and the check out is at 10am. So if you want to make the most of your day you can’t (you can leave your luggage but you can use any of the facilities like a bathroom to change clothes believe me I asked). When we arrived the room was ready and they even put our luggage inside but we couldn’t come in to change clothes. Besides that the hotel staff didn’t speak English, they are kind of rude. When we left the luggage after the check out they got mad because we needed to tell them the exact hour to pick it up. But the place is nice, the location it’s okay in Venice everything is in a walking distance. And it was clean.

We had a great stay at Dimora Al Doge Beato. Anna and her parents were so kind and helpful. We would recommend this location highly. It's also only a 10 min. walk from the train station and centrally located.

Very difficult to find the fist day as didn't have Google maps, once found it is easy to re-find.
If you walk from train station use a porter if you have a number of bags
For the price its reasonable value, breakfast would have been nice as we are early risers and there wasn't too many other choices until mid morning.
Finding a non smoking eating place in Italy is hard.
the room was big and clean, and smelled very nice with the Potpurri.
Need to walk up a number of flights to get into the hotel level.
Hotel is not well marked so look for the street name and number then its a really easy.
Would recommend using something like google maps to find it as they say on the info email
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Venice is a bit of a pain in bottom getting around, hotel is quite convenient to many of the main areas.
exploring the streets can be frustrating an fun.

We booked a standard double room which was spacious and clean and contained a queen bed as well a single. The bathroom was a good size with no bathtub but had a good size shower, lots of hot water and good pressure. The free wifi worked well. The room overlooked a pretty courtyard in the back and no issues at all with noise, very quiet. The location was very good in a picturesque neighborhood, about a 15 minute walk from the train station and 15 minutes to the Rialto bridge. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it. For the price and location the value is hard to beat.

The hotel was close to everything, shops,Plaza San Marco and RIALTO. The room had ceilings and was beatiful and clean. We also had a small balcony to watch people down below walking and men unloading their boats at the small bridge. We had an wonderful bakery just down below where we took our breakfast everyday. For dinner, there was a sqare with a park with four restaurants to choose.
