Overpriced for what you get. Good location for the city. Small car park. Didn't try restaurant, breakfast spartan in small breakfast room. Unbelievably, room had a PIR-operated light, which came on if anyone went to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I taped a box over the unit to prevent being woken! Staff OK but hard to find. Wouldn't return.

Very surprised at the size of the room, after receiving such a high rating on Hotels.com. Our room was 3 floors up in the far back with a view of a parking lot. There was no elevator, so it could not have been more inconvenient.

Very comfortable and clean and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was a little small and we didn't realise there was no bar fridge.

Good experience, although the room was small.

Excellent check in, very helpful and polite. Room was well appointed and clean. Hotel is situated close to city centre and has good parking if pre booked at a small charge. Breakfast was OK typically French. Evening meal in hotel restaurant was excellent but lacking atmosphere due to lack of people

Awful room looking at a concrete wall and a fire escape. And with a disabled bathroom. We asked to move rooms but were refused even though the hotel was not full. We won't ever stay there again.

L'hotel was a great little hotel, spotlessly clean,(this is my main priority in a hotel), staff are welcoming and helpful.
Our room had no view, which doesn't bother me at all and the plus side was that it was silent, no traffic, no revelers.
Breakfast is not included, but there is the option to purchase breakfast, and there are so many brasseries within 5-10 minutes walk, and this offered the opportunity to find other little nuggets in this beautiful town.
L'hotel was very close to the main sights, the cathedral and the old town and the station.
All in all this was an excellent place to stay

Very comfortable room, friendly staff and easy to get around town from here. Good restaurant for dinner. Breakfast is fantastic. Don't miss it if you can afford E10. Lots of choice.

My husband and I stayed for one night to visit the cathedral and see the Lumiere festival. The hotel is well situated with an easy walk to the cathedral. The woman who helped check us in at the front desk was very helpful and gave us a map, pointing out a free concert that evening and describing other places of interest. She spoke very good English. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was great! It's one of those pod showers with several different sprayers, and I felt like I was in a spa. The breakfast had a lot of options, including very nice bread and croissants, bread, cheese, yogurt, cereal, fruit, coffee, and juices. There is free wifi in the lobby and the wifi worked okay in my room on the second floor (better when the windows were open). Overall, this was a great hotel and I would definitely stay again.

It is my understanding that the hotel itself is managed by a family. Having stated this I can easily convey how great the customer service is. The staff is very friendly and willing to please. All of the staff speak English quite well which was a comfort to me since I have not studied any French in the past. The room itself was spacious for just myself and a double bed. The shower in the bathroom was extraordinary with the multiple messaging shower heads! It goes without saying that everything was very clean and in order! The continential breakfast was well worth the extra charge with a large selection of French breads (of course fresh baguettes and croissants) , fruit, cereal, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juices etc. A very generous spread! I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Chartres to take advantage of this hotel. These people truly go out their way to the stereotype of the rude French or Parisians in general! IF I can return to Chartres I hope to be able to stay in this Hotel again. Even if my travels take me to Paris I will stay at this hotel since the local train takes only 1 hour to make the trip between the capital and Chartres. In between is also the opportunity to visit the Palace of Versailles! So I could go on, and maybe sound 'over-the-top' yet the customer service was genuine and . I truly felt welcome. So will you I am sure!

Spent a very nice 3 nights at L'Hotel in Chartres. We had prebooked car parking and nothing was too much trouble for the staff team including printing out e tickets for a trip to Versailles. The rooms have recently been renovated and were clean with good ensuite facilities although are not overly large. Good value for money and the hotel is just off the main square in Chartres close to main shops and only a 10 minute walk from the Cathedral. Overall a good 3 star hotel but the staff make it a 4 star.

Very nice and simple hotel, very friendly and helpful english speaking staff. Good selection of restaurants close by. Within walking distance of the most interesting places.

L'Hotel fit the bill. It was a couple blocks from the center of town, and about a seven minute walk to the cathedral. The room and bed was fine, and the bathroom excellent. The shower was a sort of waterproof canister, so you couldn't really get the floor wet, and it had plenty of room for a big guy. The staff took our (rusty/naive) french in stride and was helpful. The breakfast was continental, and the coffee very good.

We enjoyed our stay in this very clean, comfortable hotel. The staff was very helpful, pointing out sights that should not be missed in this walkable neighborhood.

Right in the centre of Chartres, just minutes walking distance of the Cathedral and all the shops and other attractions. Hotel restaurant worth a visit in te evening, but so many other wonderful restaurants nearby. The illuminations after dark on the Cathedral and many other buildings are worth staying up for.

This hotel is charming and reminiscent of our backpacking days. A place where locals might stay, but with conveniences that we all need as we get older. It has an elevator, English-speaking staff, a restaurant on the premises, and convenience to the cathedral, which is the main draw. I traveled alone and felt perfectly safe. The only drawback is that it is not close to the railroad station. You need a cab to get there. Otherwise, I would recommend it to anyone, and I would definitely stay there again.

Good location and value and shower was good and great to have parking. Towels were threadbare and only view from the room was of the next (close) building.

We arrived a bit earlier than check-in time, but were greeted warmly and allowed to have our room right away. The staff was consistently very friendly (and there is a real charmer of a dog in the lobby) and did their best to offer us assistance and make sure we had all we needed.
The bed was comfortable, and it was one of the quietest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in: no noise of slamming doors, nearby lifts or groaning plumbing.

This is a great hotel. The room was quite large for a French hotel. The location was nice and walking distance to everything. Also there was parking on the property for 5 euro a day which was great. Awesome shower.

We spent nearly half an hour trying to get onto the road that this hotel was on. Follow carefully the Deviation signs and it is worth it in the end.
We had an attic room on the top floor which had some interesting angles - mind your head - and a tiny roof terrace, but plenty of space for a short stay. Reception was very helpful, and the parking space appreciated. Breakfast is a bit overpriced for the range of cold items on offer. Situated right in the centre of such a beautiful city - overall the room was good value for money.
