Great pool and sauna, rooms were dirty and out dated like most of the hotel, beds were not really comfy.
It needs new carpets throughout and new beds, sink hot water tap did not work, the hand shower was leaking all over the bathroom.
Did not try the food.
Staff were helpful.
3.2
On arrival the hotel is very dated and needs a refresh
Guess explains why so cheap
Heavy smell of weed in the corridors and outside
Was unable to upgrade the room as fully hooked but no cars in car park and only 6 guests in the restaurant
Was unfortunately next door to a person who screamed out songs all night and was possibly on something, but could not change rooms
Pool was good
Sauna fitted 2 people in only so be careful if on a group away weekend
Food was ok but not much taste
3.2
Dated and in need of a revamp, smell isn't great.
3.2
Slightly dated but nothing to complain about. Clean, comfy, friendly staff.
3.2
People in the next room screaming and fighting all night and nothing done even though I complained
3.2
Hotel smells musty from entering the door. Greeted by leftovers from room service outside the door of a room a few doors away that was still there the following day. The room had a blood stain on the carpet as you cross the threshold. The toilet didnt flush and no hot water at 7am. Didn't want to chance the breakfast. Young girl on reception with a very painful looking black eye totalled 3 staff members we saw during our stay. The first being the receptionist on arrival who was smoking by the front door. I was really looking forward to my stay a this 'spa' hotel. Shocking is the only word i can use
3.2
No wow factor, but a very reasonable place to stay. A couple of small issues that's couldn't be resolved but the breakfast was good, the staff pleasant and the room clean, the power shower was great
3.2
Very run down, how this has changed from 30 years ago. We are in Room 14, curtains are ripped and hanging off, radiator has no control valve and is Cold during day and very Hot at night. TV reception is poor. Very disappointed and regret having booked a secong night. Will not let me add photos.
3.2
Had a family suite for one night to stay with my 2 boys.
The hotel was probably once a thriving, quite impressive hotel however it was let down by being very (very!) over-due a refit!
I have no particular complaints as it was very clean (other than the mugs in the room looked like noone had washed them since the last guests!), just very tired.
The pool area was good. Nice large pool with a childrens section.

Amazing accommodation

Just got home from a 3 night stay staying at the Mollington Chester , we had a lovely stay , the family room was dated but was clean and very spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpfull, bar area was lovely and we used the pool once , which was lovely , would definitely stay again if we visit the area again
3.2
Two night trip away with my partner & 2 year old son. Standard Queen room. Was clean and cosy enough. A cot was provided in our room as requested. Plenty of space in the room also.
Around a 7-8 minute drive to both Chester Zoo & Chester Centre.
We got a taxi into the centre 1 night (£8). Would recommend the Sergios Italian Restaurant.
Didnt experience the spa services so cant comment.
Chose not to get breakfast for £15 and instead went for breakfast 3 minutes down the road at The Wheatsheaf (£4.99) all you can eat breakfast.
3.2
Very dated. Rooms and hotel has a floaty smell. Rooms was clean but sheets felt cheap. Breakfast is poor not much options. Coffee was stone cold. Abit over priced for what we got.
3.2
Very tired and dated in both public areas and bedroom. Cobwebs in restaurant and crumbs on carpet, looks as though it hasn’t been cleaned in ages.
Bathroom was a disaster, toilet seat loose, difficult to flush, took several minutes to refill, water pressure very poor, wash bowl slow to drain, big dirty gap between bath and floor, radiator bracket had punched a hole through the wall.
We were refused croissants at 9.20, even though breakfast advertised till 10.00.
Tea and coffee was not readily forthcoming.
Overall very unsatisfactory
3.2
Excellent hotel in a very nice setting, location is very quiet and peaceful for a nice break.
The hotel has a nice size pool with jacuzzi hot tub and sauna which is definitely a luxury.
Good selections for breakfast and dinner including room service if you prefer, but overall I have to say the staff are excellent - my partner and I have stayed here before and the staff are extremely polite and personable which adds to the charm of the hotel!
3.2
We stayed for 4 nights in the Mollington Banastre, and few things we've noticed when we walked in the room was that there was no air-conditioning or hangers in the wardrobe, no doorknob signs to get your room cleaned, the pillows were very thin. The property has ample parking space, the staff were very nice and helpful and the indoor facilities were also quite good.
3.2
Stayed two nights in twin room. Hotel is in need of an update. Our room was clean but wardrobe doors would not shut, shower head fittings falling apart, toilet difficult to flush. Hotel surroundings are lovely, the pool and fitness facilities are good. Staff all very nice and helpful. Restaurant food quality hit and miss, my pasta was good, my wife's fish and chips was poor.
3.2
A lovely hotel with good facilities in the SPA. My only complaint was the WIFI in my room (057) was intermittent and did actually fail one night which did annoy some of the guests.
3.2
Very old and tired building. Good for parking.
3.2
No hot water boiler went down had to use the health spar shower
3.2
The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, he helped accommodate us to another room due to a faulty toilet. Unfortunately the rooms and hotel itself aren’t very clean, it’s very dated which is a shame as it has beautiful grounds and so much potential. The changing rooms for the swimming area isn’t very nice, it’s dark, freezing and unclean. You have to leave your belongings at the poolside if you don’t have a lock for the lockers too. Unfortunately we won’t be returning to this accommodation.
3.2
Room was dirty and needing updating bed was very uncomfortable hardly slept the three night we was there, nosiey due to lack og double glazing , only positive thing about this place was the staff were friendly and the pool and location , very disappointed with our stay
3.2
Nice setting for the hotel. Nice patio area and grassed area.
Room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. Would go back again.
3.2
Very friendly staff but the overall state of the rooms is very tired and ready for some TLC. Dinner was nice but breakfast was not of the highest quality. Fresh fruit salad would have been nice.
3.2
The room was clean but very tired, definitely could do with a refurb
, the pool was nice shame about the room really
3.2
Great family room, nice pool, close to Chester and dog friendly! A little tired/old decor but nice staff.
3.2
It’s a lot of money for one night that we don’t have to just burn! The door was hanging off its hinges, the curtain was ripped down, there were an infestation of bugs in one certain corner. A big hole in the floor, wires hanging out in the middle of the room. It was a very daunting room and made me feel home sick I ended up checking back out the same night :(
3.2
The property is in need of a lots of repair. The cost of half board was ok as it includes free use of the health club
3.2
Room out dated and tatty dirty marks on curtains and bed valance, bed not made properly, bottom sheet not tucked in could see mattress, bed very hard, only one window opened out of the 3, no fan in bathroom and plug didn’t fit the bath, we had a small child with us, jacuzzi cold pool was okay as was the gym.
3.2
Staff were great but hotel very tired and in need of a major update.
Shower only had one really skinny jet of water and the radiator in the room wasn't even connected. Restaurant and bar area were like the ice palace, very cold.
Wont be staying here again.
3.2
I booked this for my husbands 50th and I was so disappointed. The room was old and tired. I saw a flea jumping around on our last night. I phoned a month in advance to try and book him a spa treatment to be told that no spa treatments were availaable for months as they had all gone on people who had got a deal on a spa website. If you get this on a super cheap deal it would be ok but we paid hundreds of pounds for a cheap grotty hotel that did not even have the excuse of being a grand old property either. The saving grace was that the kids could use the pool at anytime.

Good value but a bit past it's heyday.
Pool and gym is of a decent standard although steam room was out of order.
likewise the TV in the room had no reception.
another family with a similar problem were comp'd a round of drinks but we didn't find our faulty telly till the end of the night.... D'oh!
3.2
I found the large pool and spa brilliant! Plenty of space in the rooms and lovely staff
3.2
I enjoyed my stay (5 nights) very much. Was a little shocked to find out that there were no shops around at all but I should have checked that out before
A BIG thank you to Geraldine on reception. She was wonderful and looked after me so well. I wish all hotels had such a person like her.
The breakfasts and dinners were top class. A great choice and everything was super delicious
The hotel needs an upgrade particularly the rooms and corridors. There was no bottled water in the room and no fridge to store my own bottled water that I had to buy. Geraldine even offered me her own bottled water which I declined but how very kind to offer me!
One of the receptionists in the morning was not very friendly/cheerful but thankfully, I did not have to have too much contact with her
There were some distubances outside the hotel reception area which caused concerns for myself and other guests. However, it did not affect me personally

We booked a family room. When going to the room we went from a corridor into another corridor which smelled of damp. The room smelled of damp. The room was very shabby and old looking. There was mould on the walls. The armchair was filthy and covered in dust. We went to complain and he was not very helpful he knew what room we were about to complain about before we even mentioned the room number. He wasnt there when we arrived. Very suspicious that he knew what room number but still tried to say we have no mould in the hotel. He said the hotel was full. We decided to leave and not even stay. It was too late to look for another hotel. We decided to go home. We came for shopping at Cheshire Oaks. We had done that. Avoid this hotel!!!!!!
3.2
We got bumped out to a neighbouring hotel for the first night which impacted our weekend in that we couldn't check into this hotel any earlier than 3pm on the Saturday. So we ended up spending our weekend packing and unpacking! Only got a free meal out of them by pushing. No compensation was offered freely!
The room we had was certainly not 3 star. The spa facility was the only redeeming feature. Hotels.com ought to be careful about having unreliable hotels like this on their books.
3.2
We all enjoyed our stay , staff very attentive, food was nice,
family room was excellent , pool was great for all concerned.
I would book this hotel again, I would have to say it does
need tidying up and if money was spent on it then this would enhance the hotel.
3.2
Room size was good. Limited choice at breakfast. Pet hair EVERYWHERE! The hotel is very run down and really needs work doing on it. Our room absolutely stank of a damp fusty smell - there was no getting rid of it! Full hotel so couldn't move rooms. No housekeeping. Telephone in room didn't work - said they'd fix it but didn't. Their 'luxury spa' was a bit grubby - sand in the swimming pool and scum in the jacuzzi. Steam room not working. Tiles missing and covered with foam walkway. Nice location, central.
3.2
Very limited evening dining menu. The bar was poorly stocked, running out of Rose wine and some spirits. The staff worked very hard and were cheerful but there was not enough of them.
3.2
The advert looks great but it was a terrible room, not cleaned, premier inn is another level to this as it was one of the worse hotels se have stayed and im sad to say not worth the extra cash to stay there at all.
The room leaked all over bathroom from above out of a vent.
