Super friendly host and very helpful. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of room in the family suite for 2 adults and 2 small kids.
4.0 / 10.0
The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and overall, my stay was pleasant. Do note, though, that the walls between rooms are VERY thin - if your next door neighbor snores, or gets late night phone calls and is talking, you're going to hear it. If they have their TV on, you're going to hear it. Ask for a corner room, and I'd recommend asking for something on the second floor at least, to help with the plaza/restaurant noise from below.
There is no public elevator in the building that I could see (there was one for staff use, but accessing it also required taking the stairs), so if you have any mobility issues, this is not the hotel for you, as you have to go up some narrow, steep, and curving stairs to get to your room.
The hotel is fantastically located in the city center - the tourist office is practically right next door, and the major historical monuments and buildings are all within walking distance.
Something the hotel could do to make the rooms feel cozier would be to have a small electric kettle/coffee maker in the rooms, with a small selection of teas, instant coffee, and cocoa there. That was the one thing that I really missed.
One note: there was an unpleasant sewage smell in the lobby close to the front door - I know they mentioned construction being in the area, so this might have something to do with it, but if I were the staff, I'd have someone come and check it out, just in case there's a problem with their pipes that hasn't been discovered yet.

Despite written instruction requesting twin rooms for four adult males. We had to share double beds. Ridiculous situation.

Very convenient location. The suite was clean.

Good: conveniently located in city center and easy to find. The breakfast is included and was the right amount of food. The check in was a breeze and the staff was friendly. Overall a great experience.
Bad: the remotes for the tv and cable was missing a battery, so I had to switch them around each time. I called desk and they told me best of luck basically and no batteries available. I was also locked out of channels on the 12 year old settings. Pillows were not great and lacked any support.
Overally a great place, small changes could make this a 5 star no doubt.

Nicely located hotel with friendly staff, but the room and en suite were both very cramped and the only plug socket for phone charging was very inconveniently situated. The facilites were a bit tired. The breakfast offered no choice and was extremely limited.

The day manager was extremely helpful, efficient and pleasant. Great breakfast and delicious dinner!

The reception was ok. The room was average. It was clean. It was small, but good enough for my needs.
6.0 / 10.0
We had two rooms, one markedly smaller than the other. Thight squeeze to move around the queen bed, barely enough space to put down my on-board case and open it. Bathroom was tiny and in need of updating. Niche for the toilet was about 6ft. tall. Minimal amenities. Same price as the bigger room. Not worth the price. Talked to the receptionist, but no lowering of the price. Location is great and the continental breakfast is good.

Great hotel with excellent location in the heart of the city. Clean room and very good service. Served breakfast (not buffet).

The location was excellent - in the Williams II square and very close to a tram and bus stops which go directly to the Gare and the airport. Room was nice and clean. Simple and nice breakfast provided. Staff spoke English and very helpful and courteous!
3.0 / 10.0
The location was perfect sitting on the square in the centre of the Old Town. Unfortunately this is where the positivity ends. We were kept awake all night by endless noise including the bells of the Notre Dame, street cleaning vehicles, building works etc
The facilities in the room were non existent. For a room attracting a premium price the least I’d expect is tea/coffee making facilities, but there were none in the room.
The toilet paper was single ply and just felt cheap.
Breakfast was below average and was served to us on a tray like school children. It included cold meats that were wasted as 2 of our party were unable to eat it due to one being a vegetarian, and one being Muslim (so does not consume pork). There was no fruit available. It was the worst breakfast I have experienced in a hotel on the continent.

Great little hotel in the main square. Breakfast was nice and room was clean. Could do with a refurb and air con though.

The hotels location was what attracted me the most as it is easily walkable to all the highlights. The staff was super friendly the rooms are kept up and clean. The shower in our room was small for a big guy like myself but that would not stop me from staying here again.

This is a clean and fantastically located hotel. It's more of a European-style pension with smallish rooms and adequate bedding. It's exactly as advertised. The one caution I would give is that you need to be okay with using stairs - it is not handicap-accessible.

Very friendly check-in. Room was nice. Breakfast was enjoyable, albeit note huge (is provided on a tray rather than a buffet).
I would stay there again.

The single room was very small and basis but was quite reasonable for the money. Everyone there was very helpful.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Vauban: it’s in the perfect location and I was very well looked after.

Amazing location, right inside the Guillaume 2 Plaza, right where you want to be as a tourist!

My stay at Hotel Vauban in Luxembourg City was a mixed bag of experiences.
On the positive side, the hotel's location is fantastic, offering easy access to all the tourist spots and restaurants in the area.
However, there were some notable issues during our stay. We encountered an awkward situation where the cleaner on our first day insisted on cleaning the room while we were still present, which was uncomfortable. Another disappointment was the breakfast offering. Despite advertising a buffet, the reality fell short of expectations. Instead of a buffet spread, we were served a minimal selection consisting of two pieces of bread, a handful of salami slices, basic spreads like butter and jam, juice, coffee, yogurt, and a small slice of cheese. This was far from the promised buffet experience.
Overall, while the location of Hotel Vauban is excellent, breakfast quality is needed to elevate the guest experience.

The hotel is really well located but that is the only positive aspect of our stay. We could barely sleep because there was lot of noise coming from the streets and the breakfast was underwhelming

Stayed only one night but were impressed with the location, service and breakfast.
The lady at the front desk ( from Romania sorry didn’t get her name ) was absolutely delightful and very helpful, particularly with directions 😀
Definitely plan to stay at the Vauban again during our next stay in Luxembourg.

The staff were wonderful and very kind. The only disappointment was the elevator. As a person with a mild disability, having to walk a full flight of stairs to get to the elevator as well as another few stairs to get to the room was very frustrating

Lovely location right in the heart of the old town. We had a top floor room overlooking the square. Check in/out was easy. All the staff were polite, efficient and helpful. Breakfast is at the restaurant on the ground floor, it's a trayed meal brought to you not a buffet but it's lovely. The walls between the rooms are fairly thin, and the main room doors close with a bang, so you'll need earplugs! Personally I never travel without them. The room was large and and comfortable.

This hotel was in a beautiful location on one of the squares and very close to Christmas markets. I could see Notre Dame Cathedral from my window and loved hearing the bells ring. The staff was so helpful! Breakfast was good. Overnight parking is available in Kneudler or Theater garages nearby.

We had an overnight stay for a morning meeting at the Bierger-Center. Hotel Vauban was the perfect location as it is only a few steps away. The gentleman working the desk was very friendly and offered numerous food recommendations and ideas of what to see while in Luxembourg. Unfortunately our stay was short, but would recommend to anyone looking to stay near the city center.

Location was perfect, right in the centre of town close to everything you may want to see. Clean comfortable room, but I did miss the use of a kettle in the room, and no irons in the room but available from the desk if needed. Breakfast is pleasant continental breakfast but again basic and no options.

We lucked OUT with this hotel! It sits on a large plaza that has recently completed major renovations and the view of the Saturday morning farmers' market was delightful. The Christmas markets are on the plaza behind the hotel, which was fun to see. The hotel is elegantly appointed and the included breakfast was delicious!
6.0 / 10.0
For the Christmas markets the hotel is in a great location but the amenities really lack and not that they can control it but lots of homeless around the area begging and when I asked if it was safe I was told just a few blocks down I would pass homeless and drug dealers but normally they don’t bother people unless they need something. It really did not make me feel safe

We enjoyed staying in the top-floor room, which had the feel of our own little atelier. The hotel was perfectly located and had exceptionally attentive service.
