Was visting family nearby so stayed 2 nights. Cant comment on breakfast as we ate out. However the room we had was massive, large enough to cater for 4 ( we had a double and 2 singles) without being cramped. The ensuite was also more than enough. The rooms were clean, tidy and had the usual kettle, tea, coffee and a full sized fridge. Ironing board and hairdrier. Staff friendly and very helpful.. cctv all over main areas and car park ( behind the hotel so felt safe leaving car. Overall id definately stay here again and great value for money.

Facilities were clean and a room was spacious for its price.

The room and shower were very good, The wifi was good, The bed was comfy. Unfortunately I had a room on the lower ground floor next to the rear entrance to the car park. Although the room was good it was very noisy. Not the hotels fault but the guests were having loud arguments, some were banging in and out the door all night. Stay at the hotel but avoid room 22

Nice clean hotel, new guy on reception was starting his first ever shift, very helpful and pleasant lad

My stay there was amazing however the mattress was not too comfortable.

The room was beautiful, the house also very nice. Sadly pour room was next to the kitchens so we were woken early and often by crashing and banging of cooking utensils. When we went up for breakfast, there were no cooked options as they'd run out. We asked and were told it would be an hour until they were replenished. Happily there were no arguments about a refund for breakfast. Sadly we had to work around a man on the phone to the manager about a shower leak he was being blamed for. Sounded very bad customer service for him.

I had a loft room in this listed building, on the second night with rain I had a leak in the room and was up from 05:00 from the drip onto the carpet.

We were booked in to this hotel but on the morning of the stay the rooms were mysteriously not available so we were booked into another hotel the Cambridge. It seems likely these 2 hotels may have same owner. Looking previous reviews this is not unusual. Cambridge was not up to much. I would have booked the Cambridge if I had wanted to stay there and it would probably have been cheaper. Sharp practice I believe.
And the Cambridge no longer has a bar.

Hotel was ideally located 15 minute walk from the station. My room was a small single room at the top of a rather rather steep, narrow staircase. I was told the staircase is listed, but it was a bit of a struggle even with a small case.
Most disappointing thing about my stay was the price, £100 for a small single room, which most other nights cost £45 at the most. I realise Take That were in town, and all the hotels probably increased there prices, but more than 100% is just greedy :-(

A lovely old house converted into some great rooms that are well equipped and decorated. Greeted with a friendly welcome and atmosphere. Well worth the price.

Lovely spacious rooms and very inviting accommodation. Clean and very comfortable. Staff made us feel very welcome. Would definitely go again.

Always a nice stay, clean and tidy with no issues, thank you

Very pleased with the room in converted basement - curved ceilings and bathroom finished to the very high standard.
3.8
Fairly basic accommodation but reasonable value for money

Even I was given a big room, I think this hotel is over-priced given the levels of location, convenience, quality of the room and food. I would probably choose Premier Inn in town next time.

Very friendly staff 24 hour which was very helpful.
Room was clean, up to date and well laid out.

What a lovely clean and fresh hotel. Our stay was great staff friendly breakfast lovely. Our family room was huge. The only thing I would advise is that they reposition the tv in room 24 as anyone on the single bed in the far corner cannot see the screen. This is a minor though. Will certainly stay again when in the area.

Hi, you pay for what you get. Room clean and comfortable. Bit of building / repair work going on in main hall. Breakfast last very poor unfortunately. Worst hash browns I've ever had, and the bacon was like plastic.

We had reserved two double rooms with queen sized beds, but they had only one double and one room with two single beds. They said they were filled to capacity and would convert the single beds into a double if we wanted. They were very nice about it, but somehow, I fee that when you reserve a room, it shouldn't matter how busy you are.

Atrocious "customer service"
The worst hotel experience of my life

The hotel staff were very friendly, upon arrival they made sure we knew everything we needed to know about the hotel.
The hotel was ideal for an overnight stay and was close to the town centre

Excellent, friendly staff, great building, average room, but decent value close to the town centre. WiFi wasn't working when we were there

It is a very basic place with very nice staff, good for all round and very good value for money, £45 for a nght i thought was very good, especially as the Olympics are here.

Ideal place for us to stay, as we were in Huddersfield for the Mumford and Sons concert, which was literally round the corner from the hotel. Town centre was also only a short 15 minute walk away.
Room was great and staff were friendly and helpful.
If we had any reason to visit Huddersfield again, we would definitely stay here.
