This Hampton Inn is in a good location, off highway 61 near grocery stores, fast food restaurants and other shops. The front desk workers were friendly. The breakfast and the fitness room were consistent with other Hampton Inns. The hotel was clean but it was definitely dated. Also, there was poor lighting in the parking lot and our room was cool (it was cold outside when we were there). Overall, not fancy but decent.

The bedding on one of the beds smelled and had visible dirt. The bathroom smelled sour. There were splashes of stuff on a wall and a headboard. The room smelled like dirty feet. But the property itself was nice and well kept. Staff was really nice. I have pictures if you'd like to see.

Not a lot of options in Muscatine so we chose the economical one! This hotel property is dated and in need of update. Good size bathroom but, other than that I have nothing really good to say!

My card was charged twice for the stay and when I tried to get it taken care of before checking out, I was assured the extra charge would be taken care of. When I returned home I noticed the extra charge was back on there.

Check in was great. Front desk attendant was very helpful. Hotel is in a good quiet location. Room was ok. Nothing extravagant, the furniture was worn, some tiles on the floor were broken, draperies were lacking, but it was fairly clean and the pillows were comfortable. Really not worth the money we paid though.

After waking up from our first night we noticed a lot of ants on the tile floor. The housekeeper was in the hallway and we showed it to her. She said that she would spray and get rid of them. Upon our return that evening the ants were still there! We called the night desk clerk and she came up (2nd floor]. She immediately put us in a different room on the same floor. We woke up the next morning and our nightstand and the bathroom floor had alot of ants! I took pictures before leaving the room and upon our checkout we showed and discussed it with the day front desk clerk. She had no answers nor was willing to offer any compensation. The GM called me the following day. She was sincere and arranged for compensation. I wonder is this an ongoing problem at this hotel? The breakfast was very good by the way.

Check in was great. Staff very friendly. Room was clean, but shower could use some TLC. It is starting to show its age. No water pressure to speak of in the shower. Front desk said they would have maintenance look at it, but we had to leave before it had been done. We would stay here again. Not going to leave a bad review based on shower. Things need to be worked on from time to time.

The room was amazing. It had an awesome layout and everything was looked spotless. The bed was super comfortable and allowed to get some really great sleep. If I am ever back this way, I will definitely stay here again.

I arrived to a strong mold smell in the room. I assumed it was just humidity from the a/c. I went to bed and found multiple hairs and fresh stains. The toilet would not stop running each time unless I took the back off to fix it. I woke up in the morning to shower and there was no shower curtain. The front desk staff laughed at that. Then I saw actual mold on the wall above the toilet. Their response? We might be able to credit you some points. I said I don’t want points, I book through Expedia. Their resolution? No apology. The credited points.

Family of 5 staying in a double room. We had plenty of space for us all and our things. Comfortable beds and pillows. The pool is closed- we were not affected by this during this stay but with three kids to entertain sometimes that makes or breaks our hotel choice. We would definitely stay again!

Staff is amazing and room was ok overall. Staff alone wanted me to give it a 5 out of 5, but I have to ding them on the room. It was clean and comfortable overall, but the furniture is dated and the couch in our suite is old and had what appeared to be grease stains from someone’s head. We are not very picky people, but felt the need to put a spare sheet in the couch. Some might have let that destroy the rating they gave this hotel, but as I said, the staff more than made up for it, and at the end of the day, the room was clean overall. I would suggest this hotel, but recommend they look at some updates. Also, breakfast was very good, many options and again, VERY friendly staff at breakfast.

I find it interesting that you won't approve this review even though it does not violate any of the guidelines you mention. Maybe time for me to stop using Expedia as you have shown you do not provide adequate customer care.
Expedia made the check in process a nightmare by not forwarding the reservation to the hotel. Expedia then did not answer phone calls from hotel trying to unravel the problem. The desk clerk did her best to try to contact Expedia at several different numbers to figure out the issue. Nice property and no issues with it.

It is listed as having a pool. The staff said there hasn’t been a pool in a year or better. This is why we came to this hotel. This needs to be removed from the offer. Very disappointing.

I asked for a first floor room or a 2nd floor room close to the stairs. We were given a room exactly in the middle of the 2nd floor, as far away as possible from both sets of stairs.
Breakfast was OK; needed variety like biscuits and gravy in addition to the waffle.
