Residence Margi made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. You do need a swim cap for the pool (a requirement), and you should absolutely use the driving instructions the hotel gives you so you don’t get stuck in an alleyway.

We stayed in Residence dei Margi 3 nights. The staff was great especially Tony who was very helpful and assisted all our requests. We had 2 bedrooms suite with a terrace next to the pool. The apartment was very spacious and clean. It included a small kitchen, dishwasher and a washing machine. Very convinent for family of 4-6. The pool was great with nice views. Parking is free. The area also offered few nice restaurants and 20 min drive from Messina which is nice city in Sicily. We drove thru the south of Italy and took the ferry to Messina. Highly recommend the drive due beautiful scenery along the road. While staying in the residence sei Margi, we visited Syracuse, Catania and Taoromina. All beautiful touristic sites. Driving in Sicily is generally easy but when you get inside the little towns with small roads, it gets challenging. Make sure you are confident with your driving skills before renting a car. However, Sicily in general is driveable compared to Amalfi coast where we spent a week before thay. I dont recommend dricing there.

Property was nice but a bit too far off the beaten path for exploration. However would be a great place to stay in the summer to relax with family or friends. Apartments have nice patio areas and pool/communal areas look fun. Sea is close.

Stefano was an excellent host and ambassador for Mesina he was welcoming and informative allowed as much time as possible to show us around the property and explain the area attractions and beach. Great pool excellent spacious rooms with cooking facilities and washing machine clean spacious bathrooms. Great location.

My grandparents lived in Torre Faro so I’ve been going there for over 50 years. This was our first stay at a local hotel and we chose Residence dei Margi for its location and value. Overall a very good experience. The room was spacious with a living room and decently furnished - and everything worked (not always the case in southern Italy!). The AC was great and quiet, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. The staff are very friendly and helpful and speak English. You can walk to restaurants and if you want to walk to Faro it is very doable (about ten minutes) where there is a grocery store. The hotel is a little hard to find but if you are using a phone map app it will get you there. Messina is about 20 minutes away so you’re close to the city while enjoying the quaintness and pricing of a typical Italian fishing village. I’ll be staying here whenever I go back. Oh - and breakfast was good.

I worked in Messina for an extended period of time in the spring and early summer of 2018 and tried four different accommodation options. This was by far the best - so much so that after an initial two-week stay, I booked it for a further month.
It is comfortable and clean and is maintained to an extremely high standard. As soon as you drive through the gates, the stress of the crazy Messina traffic fades away and you are in an oasis of tranquillity. The apartments have all the facilities that you need for a home away from home. It is peaceful and secure and because of this, ideal for family holidays especially in view of the fabulous pool.
The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. They arranged a pool party (with some fabulous food) for me and about 20 of my colleagues who were all staying at other places around Messina, and all of whom subsequently stated that they wished that they had booked this place instead.
If I'm back in Messina again, I will be staying here.

They were really good with us, very kind and attentive to our stay. They wait for us until midnight for our arrival for check-in, and guys for Italy standards this is huge! The morning coffee is phenomenal. Our room come with a very nice balcony and a lovely terrace in the back, which make it perfect to have some quality family breakfast or after dinner hangout place. My recommendation, need to increase the WiFi signal and maybe a shuttle to the bach in the morning and evening. But that is just me being ultra critique. Also, the AC was amazing, I been on several places in Italy and getting a working AC that actually cools down is very rare.

The place was reasonable but you need to be good at diving through a very narrow road to get there overall nice

The hotel was difficult to find; a better way has to be found to allow finding residences not located on major roads
The establishment is a residence type which means it comes with a “fully” equipped kitchen, and in our case a separate bedroom. Generally it is well designed and roomy. It looks relatively new but already there are worn parts like a scratched dining table, a gouged Teflon pan. And there are things missing like one knob on the stove, a toaster and tops for pots and the sharp knives aren’t sharp. The shutter in the living room refuses to open (it is the type which you open by pulling a cord -- the bedroom one worked
The internet worked sporadically.

WARNING >>Only stayed one night and it was 4km north of Messina and took us 2 hours via pulic transport.Tram to Museum, then 79 bus which drops you off 450 metres away on a main road. Then its a walk to this remote location which is secure behind lock gates and has virtually NO hotel facilities as it is more a timeshare complex. Just parking Swimming pool and very little else.Slight problems with the night receptionists English and Local tax was 2.50 euros per day.Internally the single floor apartment was five star however the noise from upstairs was annoying.Following day we left and had to walk 1 mile towards the lake to find transport stop. This should not be listed as a HOTEL OR in Messina (It isnt) Biggest mistake of our wonderful stay in Sicily.By a very long way.
