The Gardenia like it's sister Buganvillea Appartment''s are all one needs for holidays. Buganvillea being across from the beach, the Gardenia just up the street but over a supermarket very handy. Cati (Gardenia) is fantastic with help, information etc etc as is Antonella in Buganvillea, they really makes you feel at home

Amazing location- easy walk to Lido as well as Maria Pia beach. 20 min walk to historic center. Staff is really helpful.

Receptionist was very helpfull and was good in English. The pool is very nice with daybeds and lifeguard. Location is also nice and with 25 min walk to the old town.
The hotel could use a facelift with some restoring of the facade (painting and restoring cracks). Inside the room is ok, but you can hear EVERYTHING. We stayed on 1st floor with the cleaning ladies doing laundry all time of the day (and night) just underneath our bedroom. Also when people used the doorbell in the building, it would wake you up, or just when people moved their chairs.
The “double bed” are two separate wooden beds put together.
The kitchen was nice with everything we needed - except from washing sponge, salt, pepper and trash bags. There is only daily cleaning if you wish to pay for this.

Room was perfect but we booked for the pool and it wasn’t open which was the reason we booked it

The high rating on this place does not reflect the actual conditions. Therefore this review. The hotel is old and worn. Especially the bathrooms and balconies are not in good shape. We got a room with a tiny balcony. So don’t believe the pictures of big balconies, as you might end up with a tiny balcony with barely room for a table, squished in with air condition outlet. We arrived late- got the worst room and we’re not allowed to move despite the fact that we paid extra for a better room! Kitchen is not suitable for cooking at all, but ok to make cop of tea or coffee. Rooms are very noisy. You can hear every movement from the other rooms: chairs moving, talking, showers running and so on. Bring ear plugs! The best feature of this hotel is the pool area, which is nice and well maintained. Location is close to the (very busy) beach and right in the Center of the most touristic location in Alghero. If that is your thing, this place is for you. If not, I would advise staying on the other side of the Center of out by the Maria Pia beach.

When we arrived we felt the place was a little run down. There was a bit of a sewer smell from the toilet which was also very noisy.
But we had a good time staying there, staff was friendly and the pool was large and very nice with lifeguard on duty during the day.
There is a supermarket in the building which makes for easy grocery shopping.

The apartments are a dated, and the beds are very hard, have two twin mattresses in the queen/king sized bed frame that makes us almost tilt out of the bed.The shower could be bigger to make it easier for 2 persons to use it at the same time. The staff at the reception is friendly and helpful. They have a open air swimming pool that was properly maintained. We arrived after hours during Covid 19 easing up times in Alghero, and because of that an envelope with instructions was left inside a cupboard in the access to one of the stairs. The hotel is around 30 minutes walking from the center of Alghero, and the beach is less than 3 minutes walking.

Had a 4th floor apartment which was perfect for us, clean and spacious, with an amazing view of the bay and the old town (around a mile away} and the beautiful sunsets. Were a bit concerned about noise reported from the street below but really wasnt a problem. Receptionist couldnt have been more helpful despite our frequent questions. The bulb in the bathroom was gone when we arrived, but despite being a sunday morning it was fixed within 15 minutes. Only negatives were lack of toaster or kettle in the room, but although we were intending to cook for ourselves the restaurants were so good we hardly did. Also the supermarket right below was brilliant and also served fresh coffee. Already planning our next trip .

Huge groceries store downstairs, very convenient. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The apartment was tidy and the furniture style created a cosy athmosphere. Bed was comfortable to sleep on. The kitchenette has all the necessary utensils to cook lunch or light dinners. Will book again if Ill be travelling back to the area.

Great location, a block from the beach, lots of lovely restaurants around & a 20 minute stroll into town. The complex is situated over a fantastic supermarket. The pool area is clean. The reception is only open a few hours a day so if you arrive between 1 & 5 you can call them and pick up your keys. So, the rooms,we were in apt 448, its very basic but lots of space & has a massive balcony. The furniture is old, the beds are not double, two single camp beds together. The shower is awful, pressure great but leaks everywhere due to the ridiculous shower curtain but we got the hang of it. The kitchen is equipped very basically. The hob worked badly, the gas didnt. The fridge frze everything but we had a lovely trip & when we worked around everything it was great. If they fixed the beds & shower it would be fantastic!

The pool are is good but that is where it ends. Upon arrival reception was closed and there was a note to tell us where the key was supposed to be. It wasn't there. They said we ordered a taxi from the airport and that the taxi driver had the key. We had to pay him 25 euro to get our key even though we had arrived in our own taxi (20 euro). We did NOT order a taxi and they could not produce anything to say that we had. Is this a scam? This is the loudest accomadation we have ever stayed in. Apart from the almost 24 hr deliveries to the supermarket, the noise from the other apartments is emense. The shower is tiny with a dirty curtain and the "double" bed is two very uncomfortable singles pushed together. The wifi hardly ever works, there is no kettle, the balcony is dirty and the air con is 8 euros a day!! We have been on lots of vacations and this is the first time we have complained.

We stayed in Residenza Gardenia for nine nights. It was a very pleasant stay. There is a swimming pool at the back, which has been maintained very well. The flats are about three to five minutes walk from the beach, bars and restaurants. Super market is right beneath you. A great place for family holidays. It could be slightly improved by installing new bath rooms, and that is the reason I haven't given a maximum rating here.

We liked the apartment even though it wasnt very modern. It didnt have a wide selection of kitchen equipment and only 2 burners of the furnace worked, which was unhandy at times.Considering the price we paid, we thought this was all OK and acceptable. The personnel was friendly and service minded. The location was optimal for us: outside of the old town at a short 1-2 km walk and with a supermarket, bakery and coffee shop almost in (!) the building. This was perfect. Every morning you can get fresh baked bread and a sublime Italian coffee.

The staff was very helpful, friendly and spoke great English. This apartment style hotel is situated right above a grocery store so you can get food to cook in the kitchenette. The store also has great coffee and pastries in the morning. It is about a 20 minute walk to city center but only a 1 minute walk to the beach. I would stay here again, no problem. Keep in mind this is not a 5 star resort but it will provide everything you need and most likely be better than expected.

In general you get what you expect - ok quality, especially compared to the price.Close to beach but a 20 minute walk from the old center. There are however busses stopping close to the hotel taking you there and also to the airport.I would go again, but I think many think the quality is too low, but you probably have to pay a lot more to get better quality.

We visited Residenza Gardenia during mid May. Weather was just perfect for sunbathing (with constant mild breeze, never too hot). It wasn't crowded yet, so we were placed in one of the best flats in the building with nice balcony and see view.
It wasn't hot in the evening so we kept our windows closed when we go to bed, so never been disturbed by any noise. (although mid summer could be different) Swimming pool was nicely maintained, hardly in the shade during the day, supermarket downstair was definitely bliss !!! 3 mins to internet cafe with big TV (for important matches), pizzerias, white sand beach. I would recommend this place with 5 thumbs up. Ah, actually beds were the only complaint. In out flat, it was 2 single beds put together and mattresses were pretty bad.
