The Onsen experience at the hotel was exceptional! There are so many different Onsen baths to try out. The view of the Hell Valley on the men side was magnificent.
4.6
If all you want from a hotel is a nice room then this hotel is fine, our room was very nice. However apart from a very extensive and very busy onsen the hotel offered little else. The restaurant closed at 8pm and the only place open to eat was in the basement which resembled an amusement arcade. In the morning when we fancied a late morning coffee the hotel recommend going to a cafe over the road and there was no where to sit in comfort. Disappointed overall..
4.6
Huge Ryokan with comfortable and spacious room. The highlight is the public bath which has 10+ different indoor and outdoor hot tubs with different minerals. Absolutely outstanding. WiFi was fine and stay was good. Didn’t take their meal plan because I felt it was too expensive. Note that the small town has limited restaurant options - most were closed at night in November. Ended up getting dinner at the 7-11 and drinks at the local alcohol shop which had a really nice selection of Hokkaido sake, wine and beer. But the reason to be there is for the great onsen
4.6
Oerall not bad! Japanese style room was not what I expected comparing to my other experiences at hotel or ryokan. Spa is huge and nice including swimming pool.
4.6
The hotel collect Yen300 per person/ nite as Onsen tax, whether or not you use the onsen which i tot is absurd! Those who dont use the onsen, its 'free' money to the hotel.
Other than this, the hotel is located in a prime spot!
Paking is not withink the hotel but opposite the hotel, an open carpark.
4.6
Room was spacious & newly renovated. Buffet dinner & breakfast were good with variety of food. Grand bath was big with couple pools. The only drawback was there no ice machine & we were told room service was closed like 10pm such no ice was available
4.6
The hotel is in a very convenient location, breakfast has many options.
4.6
Kind like Mega Hotel with Grand Bath, shopping, dinning, entertainment all under one roof, the Grand Bath is amazing with 9 different onsen bath, the buffet food are amazing too if you like seafood ! location is excellent, bus to train station stop is only two minutes walk from the hotel!
4.6
Onsen experience was good with a variety of different baths both indoors and outdoors. Breakfast buffet was great. For the rooms, we got the western style one (South tower) and it was clean and spacious!
4.6
The futon bed was not very comfortable. No hooks in toilet and shower area to hang clothes. Limited cupboard space for 2 people.
4.6
Excellent hotel, next to hell valley walking trails. Perfect for onsen enthusiasts. Very helpful staff who solved a difficult travel problem that we had due to very early departure. Beware that the local taxis don’t start work till 07.00 am. That’s a problem when there are trains departing the local town 4 miles away b4 this time. Also beware that the buffet dinner which is excellent is rather overpriced.
4.6
Very enjoyable and relaxed venue. We enjoyed the very spacious Onsen and swimming pool (25m).
4.6
Great hotel facilities and reception and shop.
Location is excellent.
Rooms are 2star hotel standard
4.6
Good. Meet expectation
4.6
The room I booked was traditional Japanese style tatami, so expect a bit of the wooden smell. Room was just big enough for fitting a table and 4 futons. We had buffet breakfast and dinner and the quality was great with plenty of variety. The onsen was crowded if going in the afternoon so choose either indoor or outdoor one based on the condition and your own preference. There is also a swimming pool underneath the floor for the onsen so kids would love it because it has a water slide.

Nice and clean, very convenient

This hotel had the onsen of onsens. We loved it! Our biggest complaint was that we only stayed one night!
4.6
Nice hotel, good location, highly recommend
4.6
The property is beautiful and the staff welcoming and caring. The rooms are large, beds comfortable and food excellent. the little town is nearby and Jigokudani, too, is easy to reach. Overall, it’s an excellent choice! Only downside was theJR station is old, w/o elevators. We had to lug suitcases up a stairwell and down the other side. Not fun…!

good

condition of the air condition is terrible

Love the different types of hot springs, so enjoyable. Walkable to the Hell Valley.
4.6
The public bath is big
4.6
Located between the Jigokudani Valley and Noboribetsu Paradise Shopping Street, the situation of this hotel was perfect.
We stayed one night in a Japanese-style room in the East Building. The lobby and public areas looked nice but the room itself was a bit tired looking.
The onsen area was huge, with numerous pools to suit various needs. There was also a swimming pool with slides that we enjoyed very much.
We had dinner and breakfast in the buffet restaurant. There was a large selection of food but the taste was average.
Taken together, this hotel was excellent in terms of its location and onsen, but we had expected more from its room and food.
4.6
Good environment! Good onsen!

This is one of the most unique, special, and amazing places in Japan. The Dai-ichi Takimotokan is a fantastic choice for anyone who wants to stay in noboribetsu.
4.6
Great relaxing stay!
4.6
Largest onsen resort within the area, with many different types of hot springs available including an outdoor one. Try to avoid peak hours (after dinner?) and you’d likely only see very few people in the bath - perfect time to enjoy the peace and quiet.
4.6
Thumb up given to Multiple selection of indoor / outdoor onsen within the property but thumb 👎 to weak AC in the room.
4.6
Nothing
4.6
Very good breakfast. Onsen is the best in Japan. Room was outdated but clean and nice in japanese style
4.6
Very comfortable and very delicious in breakfast
4.6
Large hot spring & pool. excellent breakfast and dinner

Read reviews of the hotel's kaiseki dinner here, it was indeed quite an experience! 😃 Hotel offers complimentary parking, is family-friendly and is <500m walk from Hell Valley.. a big plus are the onsen pools - these are big and there are also outdoor ones. Worthy of its high rating, will stay again 👍
4.6
No hesitation in recommending this to you for your trip to Noboribetsu. The hotel (and indeed the town) have a little what you might call "faded gentility" but the service is fresh and very good. Excellent room and amenities (including fresh green tea), very good kaiseki dinner and sake. The huge onsen with views over the volcanic Jigokudani valley and multiple pools with water from different sources was worth the trip for the experience in itself.
4.6
Outstanding onsen and breakfast buffet
4.6
Dai Ichi Takimotokan is close to the famous Hell Valley (less than 5-minute walking.) its buffet breakfast is fabulous and covers lots of choices.
My room is spacious with nice view. I loved to sit by the big window to admire the beautiful garden down below, which gave me a relaxing time.
4.6
The service and amenities were all good.
4.6
Very friendly staff. Old but well maintained property. We stayed traditional tatami room but it was pretty good especially with a small kid. She was so happy to sleep such a special way. Breakfast and dinner buffet are pretty good. Keiseki dinner was lovely. The best part of this hotel is the grand bath. It was just enormous.
4.6
Rooms are very basic, the hotel itself though is very well equiped, more like a resort
