Service was good, room cute and had everything we needed. There was quite a bit of noise from the hall and adjoining room (could hear word for word their conversations), might be worth asking about if you are a light sleeper.

Great pub/hotel within easy access of Twickenham, Teddington and beyond. Food was very good

Fantastic location overlooking the Thames. Easy walking distance to centre of Twickenham or further afield like Richmond and Teddington. Booked a superior room with a balcony with great views. The only things we would criticise is the fact that the Sky Box and TV were not working properly and also the Coffee machine wasn't. Neither were there any instructions in the room for use of these. Staff tried to put the tv/Sky right but unsuccessful. Otherwise would have been excellent.

The hotel is in an excellent position for transport connections if you do not want to drive in London, bus outside, train (Strawberry Hill) 7 min walk. It is in excellent condition with spacious and very comfortable rooms and a high level of cleanliness. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has food of very good quality prepared and served generally to a high standard.
It did let itself down to a certain degree through a number of issues which are totally avoidable and led to frustration on our part.
The rooms have full Sky package, excellent we thought and unusual these days, but they have an issue all around the hotel with the Sky boxes failing, freezing, etc leading to them requiring constant re-booting. This was our experience and that of the member of staff that helped out on more than one instance.
Breakfast was pretty good with a large choice, however, they have to learn how to cook bacon without cremating it. They had an inability to provide white bread with the breakfast, my wife does not like brown and sourdough does not toast!!. No deliver of bread for 4 days, perhaps a call to Waitrose, who delivered on the second day, would has sufficed especially when guests have requested it more than once.
Restaurant food was very good, but they again had an inability to provide the menu, this time it was the sweets, 2 from 4 was the norm 1 from 4 on 1 day is not good enough - delivery issue?

Disappointing. The room was in the eaves with no main light only dim side lights. The balcony was shabby, rusty outdoor furniture. The room had seen better days. Coffee machine didn’t work.
When we arrived the football was playing so loudly we couldn’t hear each other over dinner. The bar staff were unfriendly. My meal of coconut chickpea curry with roasted cauliflower at £17 tasted like jar curry sauce, no cauliflower and served with boil carrots.Bland to say the least.
We checked out after the first night of the two night stay as could bear the thought of another evening there. (Paid for two in full - happy to lose the money than stay)

A great stay in a lovely location with easy access to river.

A regular stay here perfectly located a short taxi ride to the rugby Stoop or Twickenham. Delayed check in with staff unavailable on arrival. Comfy and spotless double bed room, with nice amenities. Staff friendly and helpful. Free convenient parking. We visited the pub restaurant a few times and despite letting staff know of a dairy allergy, they run out of dairy free milk the next day before a planned breakfast. The allergy menu is a complicated folder which would benefit from upgrading to a useable menu for all. Other than that, late check out was a bonus, Sunday roast was perfect, restaurant dining service was great. Other than the minor faults, this still appears to be the best hotel in Twickenham for rugby visits :)

The room was a good size and very comfortable with a mini bar and tea coffee facilities.

The façade of the building was unimpressive.

A great place to meet, stay, socialise and close to the centre of Twickenham. I will stay again!

The property was clean and very quiet, but a number of things were broken or did not work in the room, including the radio and the television, both surprising for a not inexpensive hotel.

Not my first visit. I keep returning so obviously I like it here. Everything is great but best are the staff. I brought friends here for dinner and we were all very happy with the menu and food. I gave all 5 stars except one. The first night it was cold. I couldnt find the comfort rug but in the morning i was told they were removed during COVID. That night i found an extra duvet and my air con set to 22. Thats the proactive staff. This is one of the few even 4 and 5 star hotels that sctually has a well stacked minibsr plus nespresso coffee snd a free jar of homemade (restaurant) shortbread.

What a delightful experience! The ambience of the pub was wonderful. The service was exceptional from front desk to cleaners. We enjoyed the room and were so very pleased that we've decided to come back in August, providing we can get the same room! We couldn't be happier with everything about our stay here!

Alexander Pope review
When you travel to an area for the first time, it’s often hard to choose a hotel just from searching online and reading reviews. But, I chose the Alexander Pope Hotel by carefully reading reviews and was especially mindful of when they were written. So many negative reviews were generated during the pandemic, so I tried to look for 2023 reviews. I was so impressed with the Alexander Pope Hotel! The staff was so gracious. They were always attentive and even spread themselves out to cover all aspects of running the hotel smoothly. I loved my room, the bathroom was clean and updated, the bed was comfy and the most special treat was the homemade shortbread biscuits left each day to enjoy with my Nespresso coffee. My sister recently moved to Twickenham, so with this lovely hotel just over a mile from her flat, it will be a perfect place for guests to stay. The pub/restaurant was warm and inviting and a busy locals place as well. I’m hoping to make another visit in the future and definitely will stay again. Now, if I could get their recipe for their most delicious lemon garlic houmous, I would love to recreate it at home. 😉♥️

Really lovely hotel, only concern was the room we were in, there was no light, quite dark in the area above where the tea/coffee, kettle were, so difficult to see what you were doing.

11/10 customer service by the restaurant manager and his colleague, Tulalah, who went above and beyond to help me extricate my car in the hotel car park after a third party blocked me in. Amazing service at 7.30 a.m. on a Monday morning.

This is a really great hotel right in centre of Twickenham. Very comfortable and modern rooms. Friendly staff and good on-site restaurant. Plenty of off street parking.

Small entrance easy to miss

Lovely hotel, great food. Room lovely but not enough light, only one ceiling light near door, two lamps we couldn’t get to work so needed to use phone torch to see in case! Apart from that the hotel was very good.
2.5
We had a fabulous time! Everyone working at the hotel was excellent, the room was well appointed and it’s in an excellent location!
1.5
Staff helpful when TV was not working and bin had not been emptied from previous guests.
Was in a twin room, that had a locked interconnecting door. Unfortunately the sound proofing was awful, we could hear our neighbour coughing and on the toilet! We spent the week whispering when back in the room and very paranoid!
Despite the lovely photos, the finishes were not great…stains on the walls, paint on radiators and cracked toilet bowl that had obviously been there for some time.
Obviously a pub, but not sure if you are aware there is a child in the room leaving a copious amount of alcohol in the mini bar?
However, I could not fault the staff who are friendly, professional and prompt.

Charming hotel mixing a cosy pub atmosphere with the quality of a high end hotel
