Basic but good value for money with town close by great little bar with friendly efficient staff, parking is off site and limited in an adjacent street although it possible to park on street outside free from 6pm till 9am

Hotel requires lots of repair and maintenance as water damage in places and bits falling down. Pity as this could be a nice property with lots of historic character.

The hotel could do with updating but the staff was helpful and pleasant great position plenty of shop restaurants and for what we paid was good value

The staff are very friendly and helpful . The room was quite clean and spacious . I loved the little biscuit packets with the tea / coffee service in the room and the cute little soap bar . It is a very traditional and old fashioned hotel with lovely amenities and quaint paintings in the room .

Great location to allow you to easily get to the right of the island.

Good sized room and bathroom. Comfy beds. Old but clean and functional.

This served as a last minute place to lay our heads for the night. The price was reasonable given it was the bank holiday and booked on the day. The room we were in did have slight restricted head height. I approached the main desk with a couple of problems and the young man was very quick to help solve them.

Facilities not as advertised - no wifi in the room and generally very dated (inc. showers). Does get very noisy at night, but generally good location for the town and beach

Clean room, comfortable bed, good breakfast.

Convenient location apart from being on a steep hill. However all the bus trips we made stopped at the top of the hill. Nicely decorated and comfortable bed. Ate evening meal on three occasions, which were all good quality and value, but menu limited. All in all, the stay was good value for a budget hotel

Hotel looked a bit "tired". But overall happy with the 2 nights we spent there.

Good central location in the heart of town.
Only criticism no bar fridge in room. Otherwise it was an excelent stay

I stayed in the Annexe part of the hotel (room 57). It was very quiet which is a major plus. The room was clean & the bed comfortable but the room was cold & the heater didn't work (the temperature had really dropped outside & it was cold). These were the only down points & otherwise the hotel was very good, friendly, helpful staff with a very comfortable lounge & bar area. All in all very good.

I was staying for a long weekend. I only experienced the room as I didn't have any food there. Generally the accommodation was fine and functional, but various bits like carpets and some of the furniture and fittings were quite worn in places. My room was spacious and looked out onto Union Street. The good was a busy view, but the bad was that it was very noisy Friday and Saturday late into the night given that it has an open air bar next door. Rear facing rooms probably don't have this, and probably better mid week.
It is very convenient for Ryde seafront, transport interchange and the shops.

The location is very convenient to trains, buses, ferries, restaurants and shopping. The staff were great and my ploughman’s lunch from their restaurant was excellent. However, the room is very old. It needs a complete refurbishment. Too expensive for what it is.

Location, updated rooms, bar and dining in house convenient and good quality. Staff is very friendly and professional. Local transportation very close by. I will return😎

This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in and I stay in a lot of hotels! Honestly the state of the place was appalling and charging £100 for one night is frankly criminal. The breakfast was disgusting, the restaurant was grubby and full of flies. The hotel smelt because of the dirty carpets.
The one good thing was the staff who were polite but run off their feet.

Nice clean bedroom. Unfortunately a lot of stairs to manouvre but on the whole a good friendly hotel and staff very well centred for the town and sea front all just a short walk away.

Spent 2 nights here on a family-of-4 mini break to IOW. Centrally located in Ryde for shops cafés and the seafront. Parking was a necessity and we were grateful it was so close. Everything was within 5 minutes walking distance.
We spent minimal time in hotel and were staying on room only basis so can't comment on the bar/restaurant but reception staff were friendly and very helpful.
One bed had a hole in the side and only one of two main ceiling lights was working but there were plenty of alternative lights so we didn't bother reporting.
Basic B&B in seaside town. Was good value for the money and everything we needed it to be. Thanks for refilling tea bags and biscuits each morning!

As a back up Yelf’s is always a good bet. Staff very friendly and helpful - food good, accommodation a little tired and in need of updating especially in the rooms across the road

Our stay at Yelf’s was a very pleasant one, the staff were very professional, caring and nothing was to much trouble.
Highly recommended +++

We had a great stay, our room was clean and nice. We arrived early but still were allowed to park and check in. Nice people in general. Maybe breakfast was slow, my only criticism.

Yelf's hotel is in an appalling state. I have stayed before and had reservations about rebooking for female members of my team. They complained about rooms smelling of smoke, rodents running through the ceiling/floor space throughout the night, being sited away from the main hotel, fire door to roof in one room not initially able to be closed, no parking available and generally run down and in places filthy.
8.0
The hotel needs work on the beds rooms and windows. The room we stayed in we couldn’t open the windows very wide and we had to put things in them to keep them open. Apart from that we were pleased with the bar and restaurant areas and it was very central to the sea front and easy to get around the island. We would definitely use the hotel again.

Nice enough hotel, although a little dated. Bed wasn't the best in my single room, but the great breakfast made up for it all in the morning, and very friendly staff too

Nice hotel in a convenient location near to bus station, railway station, shops and seafront. The hotel is a little tired with some decoration issues, but it is comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was nice! I would be happy to stay again!

Had a lovely two nights. Good value and comfortable.
Very good, relaxed breakfast.
A bigger bed would have made it excellent.

Was assigned a room in the annexe which was across the road. There was no mention of this possibility when I booked. Luckily it was not raining but having to access it with a door code at night was a hassle. The room I was allocated was on street level so would not be happy with opening the window at night. I didn't think this warranted the same price as a room in the main hotel where I would have felt more secure.I could not fault the dinner at the hotel, the service and food were excellent.

Facilities generally a bit dated but characterful. It was a cold weekend and the radiator in our room struggled to keep us warm (but then it’s not double glazed). Carpets rather worn in parts. The seats (benches) in the bar were so worn and lumpy that we fell down into holes in the seats - we weren’t the only ones - soon after there were shrieks from a group of ladies as they sat down in the seats opposite! Generally the atmosphere and staff are good, the food good and helpings enormous - we could easily have shared one Full English Breakfast between two and still not finished it!

Everything was very good. The staff in the restaurant and the bar man was excellent.
