Absolutely beautiful and clean lodge with peaceful deck. The woman who helped check us in and out, as well as gave us our to-go pancakes in the morning, was so friendly. The restaurant food was delicious. We would come back in a heart beat!

Best staff this side of the Mississippi.
They were so so kind.
We cannot wait to return.

Nice location with individual cabins. Enjoyed the privacy. Nice restaurant on premises.

The air conditioners are loud. Our frig made loud noice in tbe middle of the night. When i put my durty linen outside they did not return clean because i did not fill put some form which was not explained to us. When i called the office about not getting linen back, i was snapped at about how i needed to learn about the form. It has a great restaurant so it is very busy and noisy with traffic.

Driving up we were a little concerned as there were no signs for check in! Signage is not very good for anything except the restaurant! Once I got someone to the desk, checkin was easy! Parking was difficult in the room area! With a truck, it was impossible to maneuver into a parking space! The room was quaint and comfortable! The AC was loud but drowned out road noise! The system of providing what was needed daily with a checklist was clever! A few suggestions: motion lights for night arrivals so you can see the step and walkway from the parking lot; phone didn’t work and we could not find ice machine! It would be nice to have a list of general info in each room! After I realized the phone didn’t work, I used my cell to call the front desk and had to search to find the number!! Again, a helpful info sheet would’ve been nice!!

Rustic small cabin. On site restaurant was excellent! Great location for the sites we wanted to experience.

Excellant accomidations, the cabins were wonderfull and we would reccomend the lodgeing and the resturant to any of our friends.

Cleanliness was overall good, but the room was "worn."

Super cute rustic cabin. Loved the fire place and hot tub! The mattress was well worn and felt like a water buffalo slept on it. Also disappointed that the kitchenette only had styrofoam cups (didn't know anyone used those anymore)... not very environmental friendly for a place nestled in the woods.

This was a wonderful place to stay, close to wonderful scenery, shops and food! Wish we could have stayed longer!

Fourth time staying here, and every time it gets better. Great, clean room. Friendly staff. The breakfast at the restaurant is really good, including the coffee! A resort that makes you feel like you're in the woods. I always enjoy my stay here. THANKS AGAIN!

Our little “cabin room” was definitely a match for our visits to old mining towns and hiking. After we had a large rocking chair moved out of the room, we had adequate space for our suitcase. The small bathroom could be improved simply by adding hooks to dry towels. The restaurant was wonderful in all aspects.

Nice rustic feel, but within easy driving distance of Keystone, Rapid City, Custer SP, Mount Rushmore, etc.; I wanted someplace that didn't feel like a chain hotel, and Powder House Lodge delivered.

Convenient. The food in the restaurant was outstanding. Not sure what went wrong but we did not stay in a cabin as we wanted. When first arriving the greeting was not too friendly.
All in all it was ok.

Great location. Our cabin was wonderful. The food in their restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. The lady that checked us in could have made her guests feel more welcome. I think she might have too many things to do at one time and is also suffering from what I call, “end of the season “ syndrome. So overlooking that, we loved the Powder House Lodge and would stay there again.

I slept well and the shower and washcloth were great.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin was clean and comfortable. It was great having a restaurant as good as that one on the premises. Staff was efficient and friendly.

Staff was great and accommodating. Property was fantastic and location was ideal. Only down side was traffic noise from main road

Not my cup of tea. Minuscule bathroom. Peeling Formica. Dangerous steps to door (our duplex neighbor fell completely on her recently replaced hip. Both my husband and myself tripped multiple times going in and out. Should have a caution tape on it). Food was ok. Others seemed to enjoy it. But my steak dinner was inedible. The room was so dark we needed our phone flashlights to see what was in our suitcase. Lovely area of the Black Hills and convenient to Mt Rushmore.

It was very clean, on site restaurant was good, pricing was good. More peaceful when the traffic slows down.

The cabins and wonderful, comfortable, and clean. Food in the restaurant was fabulous and exceeded my expectations in quality and price.
The only minor suggestion is to update the pool. It is older and has broken tiles. Needs a facelift. We did not come for the pool so we did not care much.
Highly recommend it! You will not be sorry!

clean comfortable property. The room had plenty of linens, soap, coffee and shampoo. Restaurant was very good food at a reasonable price. The only complaint I have is the road noise was loud, but was able to drown out most of it with the ac/heater fan.

What a terrific lodge and restaurant! Super cute place, clean as can be and appeared to have been recently updated. Loved everything about this place! The restaurant was super good, too! Our favorite meal on the whole trip and a wonderful way to spend our last night in South Dakota. Would love to stay here again if we are ever in the area. Fabulous place!

Great spot for a few days of exploring South Dakota. Cabin was clean, charming, and location is convenient. Bed was a little uncomfortable, but we would absolutely stay here again.

Powder House Lodge are cabins off of the highway going to Mount Rushmore. We stayed in a duplex. The unit was quiet (except for VERY LOUD air conditioner). The unit was clean and had everything we needed. Smaller than anticipated, but we managed. We enjoyed the small porch and sat outside before we retired for bed. The restaurant was delicious for dinner as well as breakfast. (Also some of the more moderate priced meals of our trip). Powder House Lodge is a gem and we would definitely stay here again if passing through!

Our room with 2 queens was updated and very clean. Nice towels in the bathroom showed a little touch of class. The restaurant was outstanding. We will come again
