Old Hotel, narrow Restaurant,

Very poor staff and services. Rooms are small, with poor quality amenities, dirty towels, and stained and dirty bedsheets. Breakfast was below average with equally poor service by the staff.
Not at all a 4-star hotel. Not recommended.

my stay was good. it was a nice trip. But what there are showing in photos like swimming pool and gym its not happen in real. Swimming pool is like big bathtub size and gym its like small hotel room which is call deluxe room. in deluxe room they have gym. In breakfast you will have same foods as breakfast. Moreover there service is good.

Very good hotel situated at center of the city.you can have the view of the city from inside hotel.

Excellent customer service. But quite expensive. I did not care for the many times staff stopped by to take count of the snacks bar. They often woke me up from jetlagged sleep to check on food stock. If they could just do the inspection once a day when rooms were cleaned, it would be less disruptive.

I had a wonderful time while I stayed at the hotel :)

Great place to stay for business visits. Only issue is average quality WiFi.

First stay - six nights standard king-size. Compared to the pricing and branding as a business hotel, my expectations were not high. I was expecting a very basic frugal room with WiFi and breakfast. The stay was of course positively far beyond expectations. An amazing hotel that has truly hand-picked the crème-de-la-crème hospitality staff and line management and providing in-room dining food options of a range and quality far beyond anything I have experienced in the last 10 years, in metro cities in 5 & 6 star properties (I have spent an average of 95 days per year in hotels in India between ITC, Taj, Hyatt, Westin and Oberoi). For experienced travellers - it is quite a well known fact that food in luxury hotels are probably one of the worst in terms of handling and freshness, although at arm-and-a--leg prices. I was first of mind to jealously keep this review away with the fear that it will become a sought-after hotel (it is already full on almost all days) - but recognition must prevail. Monotel is indeed boutique for the things that matters - i) staff cordially going the extra length, ii) food & service in general. Of course, the old adage stands: treat your hosts as family if you expect them to treat you as family :)

I stayed here due to its implied proximity to the airport. The hotel wasn't really that close and I passed many other hotels which were closer (had a late night arrival and early departure). The hotel was clean and staff friendly. A from my brief stay, the hotel was okay for a quick stop.

With a little work this could be a four star hotel. Things I liked: The bed was very comfortable. The room was nice, and very quiet from street noises. The room was bigger than a similar one in Hyatt Delhi for a much better price. The Indian food was excellent. They make the naan in a tandoori. Yummy! The staff other than at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Things I didn't like: The "breakfast". Very poor presentation, very limited selection, food was cold and if you don't get there an hour before closing it is not replaced so starts to look bad. Some of the dishes were not clean. The A/C in the room continually made an incredibly loud sound similar to a windstorm/blizzard. The in room menu was confusing with many dishes not available at most times of the day even when the top of the page said "All Day Dining/24hrs. The bathroom needed a SERIOUS cleaning. The sink and commode were cleaned properly but signs of neglect were everywhere else. Algae in the corners of the shower, spots on the mirror, the backboard of the sink was full of brown and green spots of some substance. Oily nose prints on the door near the peephole. (LOTS of them...) The room was noisy from the inside of the hotel. The internet was very inconsistent, with lots of dropping. Overall with some better front desk staff, and better housekeeping staff training and a few improvements here and there this could be an excellent hotel. As is it is still a good deal for a night or two.

We were very pleasantly surprised by this Hotel. In many ways we felt like we were back in America. The cleanliness was superb, and the hotel staff was amazing. In India it was the best hotel we have stayed in. If we return to Kolkata we will for sure stay there.

The hotel is a good value for money. It offers features like a well appointed room with clean bed linen, health club, bar and multi-cuisine restaurant. The location is very good (in Salt Lake next to Wipro) and offers free wi-fi which even 5 star hotels do not offer. The staff is friendly. The break fast room gets crowded.Try to be early for break fast to avoid jostling with other guests. The air-conditioner in the room is a bit noisy but I am used to noisy air-conditioners and was not unduly disturbed.Overall it was a good stay. The prices of room, drinks and food are economical and offer good value, even the mini-bar prices are affordable !

This hotel is located in Sector 5 which is written sometimes with Roman Numerals as "Sector V". If you're trying to communicate with a taxi driver, say "Sector 5" and "Nicco Park" which is an amusement park nearby. Our taxi meter ran to about 270 on the way to the airport due to using motorways that circumvent city traffic so if the driver offers you a deal for 250, I'd take it. If you go anywhere else USE THE METER! The prepaid taxis at the airport were also very fair.
Internet was particularly important to me, because I needed to continue working via telecommuting. The WiFi is good enough for most things and I got speeds up to 700k/s. However it's inconsistent and I had issues maintaining a VPN connection or holding meetings over Skype.
There is a lounge in the lobby which serves some complimentary beverages such as cappuccino's and a restaurant on the first floor with a buffet breakfast. Bottled water is provided in the room, but you may need to bother housekeeping to restock that or anything else. If you want to buy snack food, there is a Big Bazaar shop in Sector 3 which is a 20-30 minute walk away. There's a cinema / movie theater there as well.
The building itself is cleaner than most in India and things are only sort of falling apart. If you've been to India before, this place is a palace, and if it's your first time then it may at least cushion the blow.

Transit stop at the hotel, couldn't have been more comfortable. Clean rooms, good food and great staff.

I stayed there on 19/04/2014. I had an early morning flight and I had to get up at 4 Am. But I could not sleep the whole night as people in the next rooms were chatting till 2-3 am. They were moving from one room to another and so were banging the doors to close it. Plus my room was next to lift and every time the lift doors would keep opening and closing and people getting out.. Terrible time I had

This is the second visit in 3 months, the staff (all) remembered me, some in more detail, while others to a lesser extent.
The staff has made the difference to this hotel.
The room was a smaller one than the last time, but clean and comfortable.
