Pro....Breakfast, Interior, Staff
Con...No heat in the room...had to sleep with all lamps and TV on. Some wear and tear in the room 234. Snack menu with super small text, hard to read with glasses on. Staff member had to help me.

Very dirty both in the common areas like the hallways and carpets as well as in the room, there was dust and dirt all over the place.
Everything is very old, not in a charming way but simply in an old outdated way.
The room was freezing cold and there is no thermostat to change the heating.
The lighting is extremely dark so it's near impossible to fix yourself in the morning.
The breakfast had an extremely small selection and it's clear that they deliberate try to make sure you take as little as possible so they can save money. For example, yoghurt is only available in tiny cups so you get about a tablespoon a time and you can fit about two grains of granola or berries in there before it overflows. If you want more than that tiny tablespoon you have to go back and get 10 more cups if you want a reasonable shot at leaving the breakfast not hungry. I just left hungry because I got fed up with going back for the fifth time to scavenge for more food. The food is tasty though, just good luck getting enough. If you like to stuff your face with bread, however, you'll be satisfied.
The fact that this hotel is so highly rated is an absolute travesty.

Just wow. The combination of kind staff and beautiful design makes for one of the better trips. We will be back and can’t wait to revisit the breakfast!

Awesome hotel, cool vibe, recommend

It's swanky, charming, cozy, and offers little details in its service that typical corporate hotels can't match. Endless, delicious breakfast buffet (included w room) was high quality and plentiful, offers something for everyone. Open rooftop section was cozy and had great energy. Employees were absolutely cheerful and attentive. Had a lunch and a dinner there and it was michelin star worthy.

Just an amazing hotel in the middle of Gothenburg. I truly recommend this hotel and all other ESS group hotels too. Jay Z, also in Gothenburg is amazing too

Dark but definitiely not dingy, Pigalle mixes Swedish hospitality with French bordello vibes. Hard to describe but pleasant to experience. I particularly enjoyed breakfasts on the roof terrace & negronis in the bar, while the tiny gym was perfect for me. Thanks to the excellent team.

Amazing hotel in the middle of Gothenburg. Easy to move around from the location and very nice service and breakfast. Great food and service at the restaurant in the rooftop. Friendly staff working also at the reception! I would love to stay at Pigalle in case I have to go back to Gothenburg! Lovely place!

The hotel is excellent, super cool and very well located. The only problem is the bathroom. The light is so low, is even hard to see at the mirror when shaving. Also there’s no glass in the shower area what makes a mess every time you take a shower.

Excellent location. Mixed review on hotel staff - most were very friendly but it just takes one to wreak a good stay - first visit to the hotels balcony restaurant and we left promptly after being discouraged from staying by hostess - perhaps they were understaffed but it was a real turnoff and we never went back. Hotel interior need more lighting and time to change or clean the hotel carpets.

Great, unique hotel, with lovely decor and nice beds. Was quite noisy though, as it's in a busy area, just across the road from the train station. Trams rumbling past, and our room was under the rooftop restaurant, so thuds from getting the restaurant ready for breakfast woke me up just after 6am. Also, you had to shoulder the room door to close/open it, as it was very tight in the frame. However, these are all small niggles on an otherwise great stay and funky hotel.

Cool hotel. Great vibe and perfect location. Friendly and professional reception. A bit too “cool “ bar and restaurant staff. Parts of the details are starting to need maintenance or repair/upgrades. Overall a nice place for a Gothenburg weekend.

We love the quirky decor and the inviting lobby bar. Staff were extremely nice.

We got a tiny room, not sure it was even the one we paid for. Location was good other than massive construction made us drive in circles to park

Quirky. A bit shabby chic but very comfortable. Great restaurant.

Very special hotel. If you are in love - like me - or in need of refreshing your relation with your husbond/wife etc - this is the place for you!

Nice and friendly staff - good location but the impression of the rooms and just the hotel in general leaves the impression that it's slightly worn out and some renovation is urgently required. In our room we could not open the windows due to roadworks outside, as noise was intolerable. Breakfast buffet was OK, but personally I'm not a great fan of sitting in a sofa when eating.
Been there, tried it but will likely look for an alternative next time I visit Gothenburg.

Really enjoy staying at the Pigalle when in Gbg. Bed a little too soft for my liking but the room is beautiful and clean the "boutique hotel" vibe is 100% there. The only downside to the breakfast was how little time I could spend in that wonderful room with that fantasic buffet. I'll be back!

I really, really enjoyed my stay at Pigalle. At first I thought it was a themed hotel as the style and vibe is so distinct but the more I explored the hotel the more I felt I'd stepped back into 1800s Gothenburg. The design, the interiors and the details are so rich and inviting. The rooms are comfortable with high ceilings, neat little bathrooms with amazing water pressure. The breakfast is fantastic - such a great spread. I especially loved the yoghurt and berries! I sadly didn't get to try the ground floor cocktail bar but it's looked fab! The location is also perfect!! Just 4 mins walk to the coach that brings you straight into the heart of town and walkable to everything. Don't miss the chance to stay!

Lovely staff, breakfast and dinner on the 4th floor is 5 star.
However,no coffe making facilities in room, no water, corridors smelt of cheap perfume. It was a bit of an odd place.
Very noisy with trams but a great location.
Maybe better for couples than business.

Not really the level what we expected. Placed in room with tram outside without telling us making the night and early morning not possible to sleep well. Poor communication from the staff! Will choose another hotel next time.

Lovely big room old fashioned design decor great breakfast

No Kleenex or luggage stands. Had to ask for wash cloths. Breakfasts over three days varied in quality; food and coffee never hot. Room was dark. Staff always pleasant and very helpful. Dinner in restaurant was very good.

Very interesting character hotel with excellent staff.
The location is handy for the central station and close walking distance to several tourist attractions.
Breakfast options are good and of a high standard. Dinner at the rooftop bar is also good.

Cute hotel with eccentric decor right in the middle of Göteborg, across the street from the train station. Very comfortable, quiet, with an outstanding breakfast buffet too! We had a “royale” room, which was HUGE, with a sofa and arm chair and lots of room to spare.

The service was truly top of the line and ALL, every single member of the staff was friendly, service-minded and did their best to accomondate any inquires. We had our dog with us and he was treated as a king, which we obviously appreciated.

Very close to train station and main pedestrian area. Great breakfast spread. However…. Wall to wall carpeting (much of it stained and musty) is gross in a hotel, and this one has lots of it. The old school key was huge and so you were encouraged to leave it at the desk when you went out and pick it up on your way in… Not convenient. The gym is not really a gym but they give you a pass to go to a nearby fitness Centre. The hotel is really cute, with funky decor but it wasn’t enough for me to get over the carpet.

Lovely hotel and lovely staff. Very central and beautifully decorated.
Only issue was the limited restaurant menu although breakfast was excellent.
The shower / wet room is a little awkward as it is just too close to the toilet.

Fantastic hotel. Great location. Awesome breakfast. Beautiful Rooms. Parking 5 min away in the mall.
