Great hostel with a nice bar and sitting area. Super convenient location with a food court just across the street, and it's within walking distance to the old town and all the main attractions. Perfect for exploring the city!

I'm in shock how nice this place it is. Friendly staff, extremely clean. I will come back for sure to make my own BBQ surrounded by beautiful trees. They have hamacs to relax. I will come back with my girlfriend.

Staff came into my room without permission
4.0 / 5.0
The nice ones: The staff (all of you!), nice friendly atmosphere, silence, home feeling, helpfulness, service, information, bus transport from/to Subačiaus street
The less nice ones: There were some occasions when the toilets on my floor were busy, but no big deal to go downstairs or wait some minute. I had read other guest´s reviews about "too few wc" before my booking. Another beforehand knowledge the bed´s mattress could be thicker/higher. No big deal though.
The surroundings: If you like modern architecture concepts, as a contrast to your cosy hostel and the old city centre of Vilnius, in Paupys (check street view...) you will find it. There is also a nice "full service" Rimi Express here, a few minutes walk from Downtown Forest. Also you might like to try the food court Paupio Turgus open 11-22 every day.

We stayed in the winter with not many guests there and I’m assuming a totally different experience than that in the warmer months. No social vibe simply because not many guests. The open areas are warm but our room was very cold, and we have no in-room temp control. The room was very damp as well, and there were dehumidifiers in some of the open spaces so this is clearly an issue they’re aware of. One of the beds in our room was actually moist to the touch. The bathrooms could use some updating or atleast more detailed cleaning, or changing the trash since you’re advised to throw it in the bin vs down the toilet - it can get quite smelly and I can’t imagine the smell in the summer months!
The front desk staff did their jobs but weren’t really warm or hospitable. We were also here while there was significant snow on the ground and the steep staircase to the road wasn’t cleaned until day 3.
Overall, the value for money was good. Walkable to a food hall, modern area and the bus stop, but definitely not “10 minutes walk to the old town.” I would be open to returning in the summer months when it’s warmer and you can enjoy the lovely outside space.

I really enjoyed my stay at Downtown Forest Hostel. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and full of smiles. The hostel itself was a very pleasant place, with a nice sized kitchen, plenty of seating areas, laundry facilities and an outdoor seating and bar area. Free tea and coffee was served every morning.
The hostel is easily reached by bus from Vilnius Train Station and is easily walked to from the Old Town. I found myself in a park right by the hostel whilst wandering the Old Town at leisure, it is that close.
The hostel is clean and comfortable and I would definitely recommend it for a stay in Vilnius. If I am ever in Vilnius again I will look to rebook here.

Cool vibe for a hostel- it is in a quiet area of Vilnius, and there is lots of green space around.

Overall experience was very positive in a bit bohemic family hostel. Our room was on the ground floor and it was almost cold which was nice during the hot spring weekend. Ground floor was very quiet even if there was live music in the garden.
The area was within a walking distance from the old town and there was a nice park area nearby where there was music, food and drink for very reasonnable price couple of nights a week.
Busses run very near to the hotel and costen only 1e per fair.
Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We were able to keep our luggage in a locked room for we arrived too early before the check in.
Good value for your money.

I was at laser-eye-surgery nearby, so I visited only 4 nights. Very nice staff and near the town. Also LIDL 10 minutes walk away.

Absolutely fabulous place in the heart of Old Vilnius! Very "lefty", funny and even scenic! Probably the biggest surprise you can find in this town. Extraordinary service, management and environment. Good wifi btw. PS. Not for the pussycats!

Nice neighbourhood, but fair walk from old town. Several concerts/parties in hotel terrance, but ended at reasonable hour. Good energy. Staff enthusiastic, but busy. Simple rooms with character. Great value. Would stay again. Biggest downside was location.

Super friendly staff, comfortable room, shared bathroom facilities kept very clean. There is an amazing bar and beer garden on site. Free parking. Highly recommend!!! Apparently they have opened a hostel in Nida too!

An above-average hostel with clean rooms, full kitchen and cheap beer. Lots of toilets but only two showers. 15 minutes walk to Cathedral Square. Directly beside the Uzupys arts district with bars and groceries nearby.

Very relaxed clean hostel at the edge of Vilnius. Very friendly staff and you can order breakfast with free tea or coffee. Room clean and comfortable but only net curtains so hard to sleep.
