This was not our first trip to the Novotel. As a family of 5 we are looking for amenities, convenience, cleanliness, and value. And I must say that Novotel is 5 stars in all o these categories. I especially appreciate the friendliness of the staff. There is not a hotel in the world in this price range, in my humble experience, that can compare with Novotel Kolkata. We will definitely stay again.

We stayed here for 3 nights with two toddlers. Do not at all recommend if you are staying with families particularly small children. The hotel had banquets, fashion shows and marriage parties going on evert day, the noise was unbearable throughout the day. You could hear rock music and Bollywood music from the 12th floor late at night. Repeated complaints had no avail as they simply say it's a private function and they can't do anything. Basically they will neglect guests for cheap banquets. Housekeeping was almost non-existent. Asked for teaspoons (from IRD and HK) for my kid who needed medication to be fed by spoon but never received them. Was given the explanation that only disposable stirrers are provided. Rooms are small for a hotel of this stature and bathroom floors have very slippery wall tiles, who puts wall tiles on floor in a hotel is beyond my comprehension. My kid slipped and got his head. We asked for an anti skid pad and was told they don't have any. Seemed they don't even know what it is. There were couples of questionable nature frequenting the rooms, like those that you see in hourly rate kind of hotels. If you know I mean avoid this hotel at all costs if you are traveling with family. The only positives was our housekeeping staff Momin who did a decent job of cleaning the room, they should hire more staff like him who genuinely care for the guests. Breakfast is limited and not worth the price. There are much better options for your money.

Had booked multiple rooms with family. Good hotel, comfortable rooms. Staff polite and very obliging. However, on several occasions the room service and requests took a long time to be fulfilled and at times not fulfilled at all. Breakfast was very good, but the live action items were very slow and once again on several occasions our orders did not come through and had to be chased a few times. Overall a comfortable and good stay. Management should work on looking at speeding up some service requests.

We made a reservation for 12 nights sight unseen. Unfortunately we had to check out after the first night because of overwhelming smell of pesticide that irritated our lungs, loud music late into the night and during the day. They are listed as offering a full kitchen, however, in reality what you get is a kitchenette with a tiny refrigerator. We made the mistake of paying them in advance sight unseen. They declined to issue a refund.

Very good hotel, very friendly staff, very clean throughout, check-in and check-out was easy, room was good, enough toiletries in the bathroom. But the hotel authority needs to accommodate more seats around the reception areas, lots of people came early check-in, so not enough available seats around or occupied by other customers. People either standing or roaming around the coffee shop.

The hotel was a welcome relief in the city, as the swimming pool area was nice and it was great to have the bar (with a 24 hour option for the hardcore people out there). It was great to have the option of in-room dining also.

The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and our waiter Nasir was outstanding in his service. The man who cleaned our room even folded my clothes. I would highly recommend this hotel

Been at the hotel on my Girlfriends birthday and she was very happy with the room type . Had booked an Apartment with some of the best views one can find in Kolkata. Will be surely visiting again on my Birthday this September and more occasions to come in future . .

It was a family trip, we booked two rooms for different durations. The stay overall was enjoyable. Service was very good. However, the hotel receptionist mixed up the rooms and we had to move to the other room as in the middle of our stay.

I liked the room, cleanness of the floor and foods even though there were less fruits choice and fish items for dinner buffet. Customer service were poor. I asked them for wake up call as I need to catch flight; but didn't call. Therefore I was late into the Airport. When I woke up, NO water at all. I think they should keep an alternate options available for any type of emergency situation. What if people needs to go to washroom badly. Nobody can wait several hours until the water systems come back to normal. This was unacceptable to me.

I reached an hour after the mentioned checkin time, yet my room was not ready. I had booked a king bed room and instead was given a twin bed room because all single bed rooms were occupied. You should not have taken my booking if there were availability issues. There are many other properties in Kolkata to select from in this price range. I would've managed. Instead, i was made to wait (which i understand is not controllable and acceptable on rush days) but not getting the type of room i have reserved is really inconvenient. Why take bookings of more people than what you can occupy? It's better to leave a few rooms empty than make guests uncomfortable on their stay. This is very unprofessional.I am highly dissatisfied with this stay. I had come to Novotel with much better expectations.

Stayed at the Novotel Kolkata for a night as I’ve always had good experiences with the brand but this one was a letdown. The hotel isn’t very well maintained - it looks pretty run down and not very clean too given what you expect from the Accor brand. There wasn’t anyone to properly help with my bags when I reached too, a bellboy helped get my suitcase out of the taxi but I had to do the rest including get it out of the X-ray machine. Food was terrible, the less said the better. There was so much noise from the construction on the road outside that I don’t even know what kind of soundproofing was done, I hardly got any sleep. I’m never staying there again.

Overall stay was great. Hotel location is near to Airport & new town & for business tour it is very convenient. Hotel was clean having excellent housekeeping prompt service. I loved peaceful stay with smiling faces of staff. Breakfast spread & dinner spread was excellent. Reception staff helped for cab booking in odd situation.

Although initially there were a few hiccups, the staff then proved their worth. The Staff in Square were exceptional in their service namely Sriparna, Sanjay and Saheb. The room service also did well in the last 2 days for our rooms 1117 and 1138. Overall it was good.
