The bed needed to be replaced, we could feel the springs and woke up sore every morning. There was no closet or hooks to hang your clothing. No room service at all. Covid is over refresh the rooms. The plus was it is on the beach fantastic views and walkability.

We were so very satisfied with our stay here. We normally stay in Mendocino but in the future...we will be right back here. Beautifully appointed, incredibly clean, awesome view, and very short walk to the ocean. I would recommend to all my friends to give thos Fort Bragg gem a try. It will not disappoint. Hotel Manager and staff were amzing as well!

Absolutely beautiful view of the ocean. Room was clean, and felt cozy while offering tons of room. Immediately regretted not having a longer stay, and already figuring out when to go visit again. Looking forward to another stay here.

Wonderful stay! Beautiful location with great views. Easy access to walking path that leads to multiple trails. Will definitely be back

We drove up from Lake Tahoe for the first week of October for one of our two yearly "ocean/coastal town" visits. We always pick places on the ocean, to enjoy a calm relaxing start to fall. The Anderson Valley vineyards/wineries are a must visit. The Surf and Sand was a cute, clean location. The ocean views from our 2nd floor room was amazing. We woke and fell asleep to the sound of the ocean on the rocks....healing! The staff was polite and offered everything we needed for our stay. We stayed for 5 nights and walked everywhere, visiting coves and beaches. The Skunk Train was a fun adventure, with rides to the Glen Blair Bar on the weekend enjoying drinks, smores and live music tucked away in the Redwoods in an open timber frame barn. Visit Eggheads resturant! Best breakfast! We drove to Mendocino for the day.... cute shops and loved lunch at Frankies. Dont forget Cowlicks for amazing ice cream.

The front desk employee was super friendly and very helpful with recommendations.

Great Views and comfortable , not the cheapest. Only downside is that the internet was rather unstable during our stay

I enjoy Surf and Sands mostly because of the view and cleanliness. Easy access to the beach and bluffs. Decks are great for relaxing, especially at Sunset. If the occasion is right, get the Jacuzzis suites. Been enjoying for this trip for a few years now. Definitely worth a little extra for early morning relaxation and Sunsets.

Beautiful stay & location. Loved the porch wirh direct access to trail & beach. Would highly recommend

The sunset view with sight and sound of surf crashing in the foreground was spectacular! A perfect ending to a day of winding along Hwy 1 from Bodega Bay and walking along the paved path in front of the Lodge to bluffs and wooden bridge.

Ocean view , room clean, beds a bit on the firm side but all ok

Surf and Sand Lodge was a great stay. It was right off the coast and you can see the ocean from the balcony. Short drive into town and overall good choice to book your stay for vacation.

Beautiful place to stay, staff were friendly and the room was nice and comfortable, especially the bed. The view of the beach is gorgeous, and there are a couple of trails that lead down the beach but it can be hard to get down. Overall had an amazing stay and would come back again!

Loved the property and loved the wonderful oceanfront walking trail just on the other side of the patio, really close but not too close to the unit or the patio. This is a great walk (public, paved) to the right or the left, goes for miles (I think) and very enjoyable as a walk or bike ride and there's easy acces to the cliffs and beach if you want to explore. Glass Beach is about a 10-15 minute walk just down the trail.

Wonderful scenic stay! Nice views, pretty grounds and convenient location

Great location across from cliffs and water. Great views out slider with private deck and chairs. Direct access from deck out to bike/walking path. Organic k-cup coffee was tasty and convenient. Front desk staff was friendly and super helpful. Only downside was WiFi was a little shoddy. Tv would go in and out.

The location was great, just in front of the beach. The only thing that was really annoying was the fridge. Every 10 minutes it went on with a very loud noise which would wake you up. But I think this is something that can be fixed easily.

We stayed here for our anniversary. The ocean view room was very nice. I appreciate having mugs for my tea. I def recommend bringing ear plugs or headphones. There were children running around and slamming doors below us which made our stay unpleasant. Also, WiFi isn’t the greatest. I’d connect then it’d disconnect me.
Other than WiFi and the noise, it’s a nice place to stay.

I always enjoy staying at this hotel and enjoying morning walks along the coast.

This hotel is on the ocean side of Hwy 1, so no need to cross the street or drive to the coast, just step out your back door.

Property overlooked the Pacific Ocean!! Gorgeous views. Suite was small but listening to the waves crashing at night was amazing…

Did not need the hot tub in the middle of the room. they want you to conserve water while taking showers but have a big tub that will consume alot of water. We loved the view and the running trail right outside the door. Also front desk had good suggestions as to where to eat.

Nice facilities, well maintained. Comfortable room. No AC, so you’ll need to let the natural cool air in from sliding glass door. The best part is the view and the proximity to the beach… beautiful beach for Northern California. Easy walking right outside your door. Incredible sunsets. We were there in July on pass through, and was very happy with decision. Ft Bragg has a number of restaurants within a few miles of the hotel. Overall a great experience. Just a little hard with sink in living area during early morning when half your group wants to sleep in.

Loved the ocean view. Slept with the door open just to hear the waves crashing on shore. Room was generous and comfortable. Like that there was a walking trail right out the back of the building.

Definitely not a 5 star hotel; however, we had a decent stay. Loved that the hotel was next to the ocean.
