The location was awesome. Step out onto the beach. The price for the location was awesome as well. The room was clean and had a steamer to help smooth out clothing wrinkles. The faux wood floors are very noisy with the doors to the room being thin and not touching the floor, so the noise in the hotel echoes. Lots of drunk people came through from 2-3 AM so it was loud and difficult to sleep through. But it was a good value, just use the provided ear plugs ... even if you don't think you will need them.

We loved the room! Great view, comfortable bed, ocean breeze. Keypad locks meant no keys to lose.
3.5
The location was great and the front desk lady was helpful. However the bed in our room broke and we had to be moved to another room. The hotel gives a feel overall of low quality materials as a lamp in our new room was also broken and the key code to get in the hotel did not work and guests were left to open the door for each other.

The stay wasn’t ideal at all. The hotel doesn’t have A/C. The elevators take forever. When we got there we were told to park about a 10 min walk from the location and there was a lady that smelled terribly in the lobby. The room smelled like cigarettes. At night people were fighting outside which disturbed our sleep. The only ideal thing is how close to the Venice boardwalk it is.

Great hotel but no air conditioning

**Overall, the room was good! A mom with two teenagers, aged 14 and 16!**
**Reception:**
Generally difficult because there isn't always someone at the reception! We receive a code for the entrance door of the building and a code for our own room doors! So once check-in is done, the rest is simple!
**Bed and Bedding:**
Clean and simple, the beds are adequate. No cleaning service during the stay, but unlimited towels, so it was perfect for us!
**Kitchen:**
Be aware that there are no dishes available except for 2 glasses and 2 cups! No pan, no pot, no utensils, no toaster! Only a microwave, a small coffee maker, and a refrigerator with a freezer!
**Noise and Light:**
Lots of noise, lots of light. We travel with eye masks and earplugs, so the noise and light didn't bother us much, and we were on the side opposite the street, so the noise was a bit less noticeable!
**Location:**
The location is perfect, right in front of the beach and in the middle of the two large piers! Lots of homeless people, but no safety issues! They don't bother tourists! My 14-year-old son even bought a lot of food and walked among them at night to give it out, and it was super cool! That's the beauty of California—the mix between the beach, homelessness, and luxury!

Best location ever for the price

Second time staying here, and it went as expected. Perfect location for walking, plenty of dining and sight seeing options close by. My only gripe, was there was no AC in the rooms, which can get quite hot if you don’t close the blinds during the day. The however did produce a huge standing fan that made things comfy quickly. The apartment size fridge was a definite bonus. Will happily book and recommend, just be mindful no AC

It was a beautiful stay. View and weather simply amazing. James was so super kind and professional. He made our stay even that much more enjoyable. Room was small but perfect for us. I’ll definitely be returning

The shower only had one temperature, which was really hot!!! The pillows on the bed could have been a little softer.

Windows don’t lock. I advised the clerk in the front and she told me she would send someone to check it the following morning. We were on the second floor and there was people right by our windows all night.

Everything was good the first day until we brought McDonald’s into the room. Then the roaches (10 or more) started coming out of the cracks in the kitchen area. The desk attendant was nice enough to assign us to another room. The next morning the Orkin’s exterminator was there and I overheard them say at least 6 rooms have roaches. This was a living nightmare and I will never forget this horrible experience.

The is no free parking at this location.
The closest parking will change you 45-50 $ over night. The hotel will give you a reference parking location where you can park for $20 a day.
During weekends it’s pretty loud outside if you’re facing the bar. Overall hotel in nice. It has great size fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer.

There was no one at the front desk to let us in the building when we arrived to check in. Doors were locked with no indication of when or how to get in. Once in, staff was not friendly or apologetic. The air conditioning in the bed room did not work and the room was 80 degrees. Would not stay there again.

Was expecting a buffet/continental breakfast and was handed a bag with an apple and muffin a mini water bottle and juice. they say it is due to renovations, but if that’s the case, they should have advised this beforehand that.rooms were OK. Dot.

Great location and clean nice hotel, did the job
No complaints
Only thing I would say that I didn’t like was hearing the footsteps above our room very consistently often but not a big deal at all
Would recommend 5/5

We stayed here last year for our 1st anniversary and loved it so much we came back this year for our second. They welcomed us with kindness and treated us with a bottle of wine for our anniversary. Everyone was lovely. We loved the views from our room where you can see the boardwalk and the ocean. We got to watch the full moon rise over the city skyline which was magical. Our room was comfy and the water was hot. The kitchenette was perfect to give us everything we needed. Thank you again!

It is so close to the beach which is amazing. Rooms are small and not ideal for getting ready in, but would stay again as the beach is right outside your door.

I loved this “surf hotel” the no AC wasn’t a problem, comfortable at night, during day about 4 pm was a little warm but not unbearable. I liked the Vibe. Alex and Joshua were great. Looking forward to my next trip out there. My mini fridge quit and it was promptly repaired. Will stay here again no doubt.

We drove all the way from Arkansas to find that this hotel was nothing like it was pictured. Unfinished wall that was “for decoration” and a major fire hazard with outlet sticking out of the wall. No air conditioning either and was uninformed of that as well and it was at least 80 degrees in the room with only a small plug in fan. Was uninformed of a $250 holding fee and was then shown their website that said this information but was hard to find. Very misleading photos and advertisements for potential guests. Would not stay here again and manager has been emailed.

I have nothing bad to say I loved it.

We waited 40 minutes for anyone to even show up to the front desk to check us in. Once they finally showed up we got our room code (because this place doesn't use key cards) and the code didn't work on the room. We tried multiple times and finally went back downstairs to get a new code. They were gone. We waiting another 20 minutes and finally left. Horrible area... It would be great if all you wanted to do was go out and party

We personally loved having the energy of the Venice boardwalk next to our room all day and night. But there were a few moments that it was a bit scary- unhoused and mentally ill people are within a stones throw of the room at boardwalk level, so if that is not for you, be made aware. The room itself is basic but really airy with very high ceilings and plenty of space. We upgraded to the nicest suite, which is ground level with an ocean view. When I say everything is right there: EVERYTHING. It’s got the fun and quirky vibe of Venice and lots of options for souvenirs, art, coffee, dining and of course beach. The day we arrived there was a silent disco right out from our hotel on the beach (every Sunday 3:30-5, I think). We rented scooters and rode up to Santa Monica and down to Marina Del Ray with ease. Enjoy!

I was in the area on a business trip, so it may not have been the best idea to stay directly on the beach during party season. The room had some issues with humidity, temperature, and noise that were somewhat solvable by a fan provided in the room. There were fewer amenities provided in the bathroom than other stays at similar prices I’ve had, but for being in LA county, that was to be expected. I also didn’t feel particularly secure or private, but that was also likely due to being extremely close to Venice Beach. If you are in the area for leisure, I couldn’t recommend it enough, since it’s in a very walkable area close to some beautiful spots, and you wouldn’t mind the bare bones room as much since you would be inside less often. However, if you need a convenient place to take rideshares from and a quiet place to relax at night you’d be better off elsewhere.

Within five minutes of walking in we found a baby cockroach. I went to report it and there was no one at the front desk. We left for dinner and decided not to carry our luggage inside because of the cockroach. When we returned the woman was at the front desk so I grabbed the towel I had the smashed cockroach with and another one ran out so I smashed it and took both to the woman. She didn’t offer any apologies or reparations just said she would let the manager know. It was definitely also scary outside the room at nighttime.

The check in was amazing, she was very nice . The room on the other hand I had issues with , there was sand already in the bed. The sheets had blood on it. The bathroom had stains in the tub and the toilet would only work half the time. The area is nice to go travel , but the only issue I had was the room .
