We stayed with our two children at the Hilton for more than two weeks in August 2021. It was a wonderful refuge from daily stress. The kids loved the outdoor pool and the foam parties as much as the breakfast buffet where everyone found something to their taste. Service was excellent, always polite and ready to fulfill our requests. A big compliment to the staff, who took special care to ensure our stay was as comfortable as can be imagined! Taking a taxi/didi to downtown Qingdao was a breeze and it was great to be within walking distance of one of the nicest beaches in Qingdao. Overall, 100% recommended for families with children.

I booked the hotel only for one night as a birthday stay-cation gift for my wife. We have visited many hotels for our special days but this was the first one that made a cake for her. She had a fabulous time, I joined her for some of the time and I really loved it. The service was super friendly.
Since we stay in Qingdao, going to Huangdao is always a nice treat. The five swimming pools will be the next reason we visit next time with our kids. They will love it as much as we did as well. I highly recommend it.
I would suggest that that one books the sea view rooms and pay the extra amount since you can over look the swimming pool and the ocean,

The room was very nice - it felt like one was in a tropical island somewhere in Southeast Asia. It was a pity that when I arrived, they were shutting down the pool. The breakfast buffet was fabulous.I had to cut down my stay (was going to be there 22 Sept - 28 Sept). But a calamity situation at home in HK had to have me leave on the 23rd. I asked for a refund for the rest of the stay. And the front office staff Raymond was so kind as to oblige. thank you Raymond, so much.

This hotel is located in very developed beach resort area; the hotel is absolutely huge. My travel was for a business conference that took place off-season, when the property seemed empty except for our group. I imagine the experience would be different in high season, or when the hotel is more fully booked. The service and restaurant food were excellent. The decor is over-the-top fabulous.

Being a so-called 5 star hotel, especially one that's under Hilton Hotel franchise, the serving staff in the restaurant (the one that serves buffet breakfast) definitely needs more intensive training, if they are trainable. While my wife and I were having breakfast, sitting right next to our table were 4 hotel staff, chatting loudly, probably enjoying their free breakfast. One was in fact occupying one of our empty seat in our table, showing a complete neglect of boundary and personal space. At the end of their meal, the one who was intruding into our space, even tried to light up his cigarette to smoke, in a "No Smoke" restaurant. If my wife did not reprimand him, he would have just go ahead and do what he pleases. Of-course, not a word of apology was offered for his offensive act. Apparently he thought that was within his right to do so, despite it was a No Smoking facility. Such a kind of behavior was shockingly appalling and would not be seen in any decent hotel anywhere else in Asia, definitely not in Hong Kong. The serving staff in the restaurant was inattentive to the guests' need. We ran out of paper napkins for our table, and none of the servers paid any attention, even though several of them walked by our table many times. Neither did they come to pick up our empty plates after we finished. Perhaps that's their definition of "buffet' dining, because in Chinese it means "self-help" and they are taking it to mean literally, that the guests were to help themselves??

The beach is nice, it is a long and the gradient is very gentle, perfect for family trip.
However, the level of hygiene and of service quality is unbecoming the name of Hilton.
In a bread bar, a customer cut bread holding with his bare hands and insists that his hand is clean upon my point out(He is an English speaking westerner, shame on you!) and the workers do not understand why they have to change a bread into a new one just because of some put bare hands on the bread.
The linen will not be changed without your asking to change, I stayed there 3 nights, I believe it is long enough for a change.
Finally, if you have a children staying with you, please double check in advance for the inclusiveness of breakfast. Unfortunately, I checked but somehow, my reservation handover is not good enough, the hotel tried to charge me for the children's breakfast fee. Without the appropriate assistance of "Hotels.com" staff's help, I had to pay.
In a summary, the place and the facility are perfect, but the service quality and the sense of hygiene is not matching the brand of Hilton.

For our family get-away, we decided to stay at the Hilton hearing good things about their pool and kids areas. We have 2 girls, 4yrs old and 5yrs old. We started with a standard room but not satisfied with the size upgraded to a deluxe and that worked out much better for us. Our stay was comfortable and the staff was excellent. The play area for the kids on the 2nd floor was better than expected. It was more like what you would find in a mall around China though not too big. The pool area was great for the kids. They had 3 areas for swimming. 1 for very young children, one that was a little deeper more like an overgrown hot tub without being too hot and the main pool area. My kids liked all three. The lifeguards were very attentive and looked after all the kids with a watchful eye. Of course you have to watchout for the slippery areas and of course my 5 year old slipped and hit the back of her head on the ground. She cried a bit but seemed ok. However I told the lifeguard about the accident and asked for her if they could check her out. The lifeguard came to my room and examined my daughter. She threw up which gave us an indication that she needs to go to the hospital. To representatives of the HiIton Hotel went with me and they were absolutely fabulous in getting us to the front to see a doctor and even paid for all the charges. I didnt have to do anything. After the examination and CT scan, the doctor said everything was ok. Thank God. Thank you Hilton for your help.

This was one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at all around. We arrived on the sleeper train in the morning, and we went and dropped our bags early and they arranged us a room earlier than normal check in (which was nice with our still sleepy kids in tow). We enjoyed the location, right across from the beach (although with the construction it took a little bit to figure out how to get to it). It is easy to access the city (although a little bit pricy). The hotel was clean, amazingly friendly staff, the breakfast actually had variation from day 1 morning to day 2 (which is rare in the nice 4 & 5 star hotels in China) and it was really good. The pool was a comfortable temperature (not always normal) and clean, with a kids pool that was small and not overly entertaining but the kids enjoyed being able to touch. The fitness center was nice as well although we didn't have time to use it. The room itself was pretty good, great view, nice balcony, although we had an electrical issue (lights kept shutting off and on intermittently), but they eventually came and fixed it. Overall the best hotel we've stayed in in China. Areas for improvement (Locker room isn't as nice as some others, pillow wasn't as comfortable as some other hotels), areas of standout (staff, cleanliness, responsiveness, pools, breakfast, gardens outside).

The hotel is huge, as were the rooms. Top class accomodation and ammenities. Quiet for my winter stay but Id imagine a hive of activity in the peak summer period. Lovely gardens and close to the beach.

Paid extra money to enjoy the service at the executive level, but actually there was nothing to enjoy. The quality and selection of the food was terrible, if something was available at all. The food was very often out 1h before end of happy hour. Had to ask for new food several times and it still took over 30 minutes. Also the executive lounge often was more like a kindergarten or playing ground rather than a high quality environment. The other thing that really was upsetting was, that we could not find a person at the reception, concierge or on the executive level that could speak proper English. Result was, that we almost missed our plane, because nobody arranged for a taxi as it we were promised. The nice big pool was fenced of the basically all sides with flower trays. Maybe thats because of the fact, that the water was obviously not maintained well and the dirt was laying on the pool ground. Also in order to be able to use the pool chair we had to run through out the whole hotel to find some towels at the indoor and spa location. Due to missing English language capability nobody could explain this to us.In the US or Europe this would never be a 5 star rather than maximum 4 star. Really disappointing stay.
