The historic estate is in impeccable condition. The friendly, professional staff and the beautifully appointed facility both get five stars. Our room was perfect for our taste, the view of the lake was really wonderful. The gardens are filled with well maintained vegetables and perennials and the outer grounds are walkable. The only drawbacks were 1) The 17 CHF taxi ride from the train station could have been saved if they had a golf cart like so many five star hotels have. It would have been a 15 min walk in the rain 2) And we paid 215 CHF extra for exclusive spa time before our prix meal. They didn't heat the mega bath/jacuzzi. And it isn't a real spa, just a sauna in a beautiful, relaxing space with so much potential. No steam room, nor cold plunge. No medicinal salt scrub. No slippers. One smaller pool that could have been the cold plunge wasn't even filled with water. The charming, professional staff were so hospitable we didn't have the heart to complain. We would definitely return, just remind them to heat that amazing jacuzzi.

We arrived at this beautiful hotel in the evening - we needed our tickets printed promptly for the Bregenz opera festival and staff organised that as well as a table for us to have a quick dinner in their lovely outside restaurant. The next day they allowed us to rent bikes from them after we had already checked out and even allowed us to use the historic bath in the afternoon. All in all the service was very helpful and kind. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. Highly recommended.

The Schloss Wartegg is a 16th-century castle that has been beautifully renovated so it feels like a modern hotel but with a whole lot of character. Its surrounded by beautiful grounds with woods, walking paths, flowers, and birds. And the Bodensee (Lake Constance) is close by.

This is a very special hotel with an excellent restaurant. The property is large with the hotel in the midst of a forested area. One caveat: the elevator only reaches the second floor. If you need an elevator request a room on a lower floor.

The hotel was adorable and very clean and neat. The spa is well worth the price ($25 each) for the private session!

Ill be traveling to Heerbrugg on business regularly after this trip. Most colleagues stay in Dornbirn across the border, but they were all sold out. Found this place and was on the St. Gallan to Heerbrugg rail line so I gave it a try. Amazing. Better cost value than the Sheraton Four Points in Austria. True castle with all modern room amenities. Honor system for helping myself to a bier after desk closed. So unbelievably quiet inside during the night time. Fabulous restaurant. Beautiful grounds and walking distance through deep woods 5 min to Staadt Bahnhoff. The staff and the nearby people were tolerant of meine High School Deutsche Sprachen...and I was far more polite than most of the other Americans I encountered closer to Zurich. My only fear is giving it a 5 star rating means itll become too popular and I wont be able to book for my upcoming trips :-) . If you want a hotel with a hot tub and 24 x 7 wait staff or front desk, then this is not your hotel. This is, in my opinion, an amazing place for recharging, locking yourself away to write proposals and tedious powerpoint decks or just reading and staying away from humanity for a few days.
