The manager Lome is wonderful! Service and room were great. Also arranged a bike ride for us. Provided bikes to just roam around town.

Great services overall. Close to restaurants and historical sites etc. I higbly recommended for anyone. Price kind of high but worthy to be close to the Nan Khan River

A beautiful hotel in a renovated older building. If you want to enjoy historic architecture this is the hotel for you. If you want modern then no. Delicious breakfast, friendly staff, and great location.

Elegant, clean, colorful colonial-inspired rooms with balcony overlooking a tranquil green river. Friendly staff, great location a street removed from the hustle and bustle.

My second time to Luang Prabang and so I knew about where I wanted to stay. The Apsara met my needs splendidly. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was spacious, bed comfortable and there was a good selection of pillows. It wasn’t particularly noisy even at street level. Breakfast was very good. WiFi and a/c worked well.

Stayed in room 1 which was on the second floor. Everything was good and as expected, except at night as it’s closest to the next door restaurant which is very popular, the noises from the restaurant would not die down until after 11pm.

The hotel is located right on the water. It is very clean, safe and well priced. The service was excellent.

Really glad we picked this hotel for our stay in Luang Prabang. Initially wondered why there was no TV in the room, but soon realised that the last thing you need when on holiday in Luang Prabang is a television, enjoying the relaxing peaceful lifestyle is the important thing. The Apsara is located close to the bank of the Nam Khan river, with only a small quiet road in between. We initially had a problem with a leaking air conditioner, but this was fixed immediately whilst we were out for the day and the manager personally apologised for the inconvenience. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly giving plenty of advice on what to see and do locally. We only had breakfast in the hotel, which was excellent. Will stay here again if back in Luang Prabang.

Really great location. The restaurants near the hotel were great. The room was a bit noisy, but other than that it was a great bargain for the price. We even used the bikes to travel around one day!

Stayed at The Apsara several times between 2003 and 2010, when living in Bangkok. Had not been recently, since moving back to UK, but on this visit it felt as if I had never been away and I loved being back. The location is perfect, within easy walking distance of everything, yet on a quiet road with lovely river views. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, the decor felt very ' Lao' and there was a huge bathroom, with a good selection of toiletries. Everything was spotlessly clean.
There is an attractive lobby/ bar/restaurant, with beautiful coloured lanterns hanging from the ceiling. There is also a nice terrace on which to enjoy a leisurely breakfast or dinner. The food is excellent -- a great dinner menu and lovely French style breakfasts (warm baguettes/ home-made jams), plus a wide range of cooked options).
The staff are warm, friendly and welcoming. Everything is done to make you feel relaxed and looked after. A lovely place in which to stay -- I would recommend it wholeheartedly.

Location is great, but rooms were awkwardly located on the street. Doors didn’t seem to properly close(they were not sealed) or lock(dead bolt was useless) and it was the only time on my week in Laos I got bug bites-7 to be exact. The air conditioning unit did not work well which didn’t help-bug repellent plug ins should be standard in the rooms. In contrast, breakfast was good, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very large.

Great location overlooking the river and near everything. The breakfast was included and excellent. Other meals there were top rate. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.. The owner is an ex-pat from England who was fun to talk with.

Great chilled out place. Stayed in a lovely room on the first floor of the main block (wouldn't fancy the ground floor main block rooms) . Great staff, great food,. There are lots of options in LP but no regrets about the Apsara.

I moved to Apsara after I extended my stay in Luang Prabang and the hotel I was staying at was booked. The room and shower were larger at Apsara and the bath room was detached and significantly larger. Had excellent hot water.
The AC was powerful (but it did drip some). The hotel is located on a main street and gets some traffic which can be heard in the rooms, though not an issue for me. Breakfast (included in stay) was good, but less nice and selection more limited than the hotel I stayed at prior. Staff was friendly and helpful. They allowed me to take a shower after I checked out and prior to my flight as I got drenched in a morning activity which was greatly appreciated. They are extremely well situated on the peninsula and are a short walk to pretty much everything which makes things very easy. Also adjacent to a couple nice restaurants as well as have their own nice restaurant. Would say they are higher than a 4 ranking, but as you can't give fractions I didn't give them a 5 based on other hotels I stayed at in SE Asia.

Luang Prabang is an extraordinary city, and this small hotel was in the best part of town. The room and service were perfect.

The Apsara could hardly be in a better location. Quiet, and next to the river, yet just a few metres up an alleyway to the main drag. You come out almost opposite the temple where the morning procession of the monks starts from so you can literally roll out of bed 5 mins before it starts (5:30am!). Beware the ladies lying in wait at the top of the alley to try to sell you junk food and rice to give the monks - abstain or buy your own in the market the night before. The food quality at the Apsara is excellent, particularly the set dinner menus and the bed was simply the most comfortable I'd experienced on my 6 week trip around SE Asia. The sheets were good grade cotton and the feather pillows were a dream. I slept like a babe and woke up refreshed every morning ready for a full day of activities. The shower was large and powerful, internet connection reliable and the owner very friendly and helpful. I booked extra nights when I got there and ws sad to leave!

We enjoyed a 3-night stay in this lovely hotel in a quiet part of town. All staff members were friendly, professional and extremely willing to be helpful. The breakfast menu offered several appealing choices with fresh fruit, fruit juice and a basket of warm toasted baguette. Drinks at the casual bar may be enjoyed in the lobby or taken to the guest's room. Dinner is served from an a la carte or prix fixe menu of delicious Lao specialties. We highly recommend The Apsara Hotel!

Apsara is outstanding. Our room was large and stylish, and the staff members were all quite pleasant, extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Advice received saved us from making what would have been a horrible transit decision to our forward location. Located on a quiet stretch, the hotel fronts the river and is on a block with a number of great restaurants. A short walk or Tuk-Tuk to everything you will want to see or do in town. I highly recommend Apsara.

Lovely hotel on the Nam Khan side of Luang Prabang with a nice little balcony overlooking the river. Perfect location, in the old part of town within a few minutes of photogenic temples, good restaurants and the night market. Good linens and pillow liner on the mattress. The rainfall shower is a real pleasure, but it is tough to take a quick rinse. There is also no Television, but you won't miss it in this UNESCO site.
