Check in time was an hour after the time noted in the email which had stated 2 pm.
Apart from that all was good. We had a two person room with one queen bed.
Bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. Shared bathroom was clean and the shower was good and water hot. Unusual bathroom layout with two toilets in shared space with no individual doors, but one could lock the outer door if needed.
Convenient location and it was quiet the night we stayed.
I would stay here again.

The check in on Orbitz says 2p and the Hostel said 3p

Its old motel and hostel, but good for hiker. Book by expedia is expansive than hotel itself.

The lock box provided in the room for me didn't work. I couldn't close it once I opened it.

Hostel was clean and comfortable. Check-in was a bit odd; your key and info are in an envelope on a bulletin board.
Small common area but a large kitchen. Overall, if you're trying to save a buck to spend later up at Mammoth Mountain, this spot is hard to beat.
Lots of parking right out front, easy walk to a brewery.

No complain with reasonable price except two things.
There is no stove to cook. The mattress has no cushion.

Was easy to get the key even after checking in very late. Comfortable premises and fair price.

It was a hostel, bunk beds like a college dorm, shared bathroom etc.
Some are better, some are worse.
Inexpensive.
I was on the road camping out most nights. It was really cold that night, just needed a place to sleep.
It served the purpose

We booked a queens bee for 2bed. We just needed a place to sleep after a drive. Overall good. Room was clean. There were bedsheets and couple of towels. Shared bathroom was clean. Kitchen was smelling because someone might have just heated their food. Overall good if you just need a place to crash.

Worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in

This is a nice hostel. Each bunk has its own locker with combination lock. Wifi worked very well. More electrical outlets are needed for charging cellphones.

Self check in worked fine, Hostel is nice and clean.

Have to say, after staying in hostels for decades now, this one is one of the most disgusting. It stunk. Was dirty. ...and though I usually bunk, ended up getting a private room because I wanted to sleep.... It was nasty and stunk. The sheets smelled like BM sprayed with fabreeze. The room, 100, is also right next to the SMART METER which buzzed and kept up all night, in addition to being dangerous. Did I mention it stunk?

Very basic stay but the affordable one in the whole city of Mammoth Lake. House keepers did a great job changing sheets an. Cleaning each dorm room.

Thin walls with crashing doors does not mix.
Telling me to move my vehicle from one empty lot to another when I wanted to ski the day I was checking out was not cool
One full bathroom with the shower and toilet in one room to share between 6 people wasn't ideal
If you wan tto recycle you need at least two trash receptacles.
Check in was envelope with a key, rather than tour of hostel and/or orientation
Could not get into promise hot tub

Affordable, close to the slopes, this spot is great for solo ski travel. But what set it apart was the amazing people I met while there. Definitely plan on coming back!

This was my first hostel experience and it was good! Overall clean and the kitchen had what I needed. It was another solo trip for me and it was nice to make a few friends to ski with.
My room (206), was uncomfortably cold the first night, even with the extra blanket. I asked one of the cleaning staff for a space heater (per another reviewer) and that saved me!

Great place when you're on a budget. Chance to meet PCT hikers and people from all over. Kitchen was equipped ok for when I was there, since the place was not full. If it would be, there is not enough mugs, plates or utensils for everyone. Would definitely come back.

My adult daughter and I stayed in a private room, and shared the bathroom, kitchen and living room. It was very enjoyable chatting with the other guests while preparing meals or hanging out in the evening. The kitchen was very organized and clean. It was also handy to be able to walk to the Village gondola, which zipped us right up to the ski resort.

It's a mix of an aging slightly funky motel with a hostel. I stayed in the hostel part and it had the usual bunk beds shared common area and kitchen. Clean enough, great location and nice people. Didn't try the outside hot tub but it's there. If you like the hostel lifestyle this is a good one.

No desks in room or anywhere. Wi-Fi was barely functional felt like dial up. Bathrooms just ok, not the cleanest. Trash overflowing cans.

Replace mattresses. They suck. No reason to have rock hard mattresses. I ve told u guys this every year for past 4 years. Next, for the love of God fix self closing hindges to they dont slam shut on EVERY DOOR !!!!! Even a soft piece of 2 cent plastic would do it. you have a great facility. Fix the stupid sh@t.

I paid for and expected a bare bones hostel experience. The room and kitchen/ common areas were clean and in good order. The bathroom was clean but well worn. The shower handle is loose from the wall and the floor is flexing in front of the toilet. All in all this is a reasonable budget experience hotel.

Pretty much basic hostel accommodation. Great location, though.
