First trip to Eureka, loved the charm! Only wish the hotel had more live music because the stage and ballroom are beautiful!

Staff was personable and knowledgeable. The hotel and room were very nice, though since this is such a an old hotel it was obvious certain areas required more upkeep than others (very old windows with antique glass). We've stayed in much less comfortable hotels for the same price or more, so all in all this is a great value.

Really interesting old building right by the seafront. The room was quite quirky due to the old shape of the building which gives it character. Only issue is that there's a very loud extractor fan for the restaurant on the roof that makes a lot of noise in the room. Thankfully they turn it off at about 9pm so it was nice and quiet after that, but it really does need fixing.

This hotel is beautiful and very nostalgic and the room we stayed in was dog friendly and decorated nicely. I received 3 emails from them asking me to call before I arrive to let them know what time we would be there and also to make a reservation in one of their 2 restaurants. I called to make dining reservation and it was a message saying only reservations could be made for 6 or more people - so we were only 2 so didn't make a reservation. Then when I called to let them know when we would be checking in, I was told the main restaurant was closed and that there was a live band playing until ? It was raining hard and this made it very difficult for us. We ended up getting In and Out! Not sure how long the band played - we were on the 3rd floor, and did not really hear it (the band was actually really good!) Room was comfortable and they offer a continental breakfast in the morning. All and all it worked out.

Our biggest concern was the misrepresentation of the quality of the room vs what was provided. The staff was indifferent at best, unwilling to take responsibility in policing an app that they gave permission to sell their product. We apparently paid more for a fold out couch and “tea service” that we didn’t need and were not offered a room change or partial refund. We will not stay there again nor will we recommend them to anyone.

Historic location for an inn. The staff were very nice and helpful but the property was run down with no real amenities. The beds were very comfortable but the rooms were worn. The shower was a cheap plastic with mold and a door that would not stay closed. Everything else was very tired looking. The lobby was Victorian but very dark and looked like a dusty parlor. Breakfast was very meager with a sign to only take 1 . For the high price, I was expecting much more.

The property itself was beautiful and well kept.

Amazing place with antique furniture, an impressive ballroom, nice breakfast! We also loved the french pressed coffee in out suite - great stay!

The hotel was a lovely, clean property and I felt safe inside but our room was across from Eurekas rescue mission and there was a lot of loud, uneasy noise most of the night

We’ve stayed here before and came back because we were happy with our stay. It is an older hotel that is very old-fashioned. The floors slope here and there. But you can’t beat the flavor and ambience of this place. There is a tavern connected that serves great food and drinks. The service is impeccable. Totally loved staying here!

We loved the history of the Inn and its location next to the waterfront. The building is old (of course) and because of that the facilities require flexibility. For example, limited outlets in the room, odd bathroom configuration. The staff is great. Parking is super convenient and a great location for my early morning walks along the water and around town.

The uniqueness of this Victorian house/hotel is simply wonderful! A welcome change from the same old hotel. Also has a tremendous restaurant on-site!

We loved the staff, all friendly and knowledgeable. The room was beautiful, but it needs a little updating. Toilet/shower room was so small it was difficult to shut the door and we aren’t big people. The area around the hotel was a little less safe-feeling.

Excellent Experience. Property had the most character of any hotel I have stayed. The decor was unique. Excellent customer service of staff.

Great historical hotel in downtown Eureka! Free parking right beside the hotel and homeless are everywhere! Nothing the hotel can do about it but I wasn’t aware of the abundance of the homeless. However, the hotel room so nice, comfortable beds, but you will hear everything outside. Great value and would stay here again!

Second visit at this hotel and just love it! Lots of history, older rooms but lots of character and Antoinette at the desk is so helpful. The restaurant is outrageously great! Stay here over the Hampton Inn or Best Western. Take a stroll on the “boardwalk”, visit the fun shoppes down the street. Loved the yoga room!

We loved everything about this property. We stayed here because it was historic and it lived up to everything we hoped for. The staff was so nice and helpful and made us feel absolutely welcome. The restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced.

Hotel is dirty. We had ants in our bathroom. Baseboards are dirty. Website is deceiving. The stay would have been more acceptable if they lowered the price of the room. Someone was working in the room next door and didn’t stop pounding until almost 8pm.

Because of its age (built in 1888), the Inn @ 2nd & C is quirky in so many good ways and its restaurants are very good.

Lovely old hotel. Eureka has many beautiful old buildings downtown but quite the homeless issue.

Such an amazing experience! Absolutely beautiful building and the rooms are stunning and so true to period. The front desk gentleman was fabulous and even gave me a little tour.

Yeah, this hotel is in a bad part of town. Not that anywhere is Eureka is great. We booked 2 nights and left after 1.

The place could’ve been cleaner I think it was overpriced for what you actually got. You can get a four-star elsewhere for that price of $300 per our family of four with a fold out couch.

Amazing homey hotel. Brings you back into your childhood into 1882.
Very nice people, expect to see some cowboy ls when you step out of the hotel.

This is a unique boutique inn. The property is like walking into a 1800 saloon and can almost see the set of a western movie. Doesn’t stop there, rooms carry similar character. We loved it. Staff is very friendly.

Check in was fast and easy. Our room was very clean and inviting. Staff friendly, helpful and accommodating. Was a very different feel from most hotels that feel very sterile. The Inn at 2nd & C was very welcoming and homey feeling. Will most definitely keep this place as top choice for future visits.

Stayed here for a three day weekend and I don’t like using the “F” word, but this place was FABULOUS! To be fair, this isn’t a four star hotel, but if you’re going to Humboldt, you shouldn’t expect the Ritz-Carlton. Instead think about how cool it is to stay in a building that was built in the 1880’s and still has the charm of the old west (or at least the old west of Hollywood movies).
Plenty of decent bars and restaurants in walking distance, including two in the hotel itself. 12/10, would recommend.

The hotel is historic and well preserved. The bed was comfortable with nice linens and pillows. In the morning there was pastries, fruit, yogurt and hot drinks. Staff was friendly and helpful. I forgot my ipad at the hotel and Vicki called me to let me know. They put it in a secure place until I came to retrieve it.

Great spot. Very central. Safe, clean, yummy breakfast and great staff. Easy access to Cannifest and local shops/restaurants.

Didn't like anything about this old decrepit property. Boy are those pictures deceiving! This place needs a date with the wrecking ball. Old, funky, no in room refrigerators, staff that all look like ex addicts. Screaming mentally ill homeless people surrounding the place. Plus the rates are astronomical. Yuk yuk and double yuk. Coyld not wait to leave. Stay ANYWHERE but here!

Great small historic hotel. Will stay again when in the area. Bar and restaurant very good, bed and linens comfy and fresh. Not the best choice for someone wanting a lot of services.
