The hotel was exactly what we expected!! The only negative was the timing of our visit. Hurricane Helene came through during our trip to Blowing Rock

The room was a far cry from the photo on the website. Built in 1954 and, it seems, not updated much since. Wi-Fi was unreliable most of the time. Not a place you want to chill. That said, close to good restaurants.

Very disappointed from the check in,poor room conditions to the way to check out. I have to check in before 6pm but waited for around one hour to check in when I came before 4pm,

Friendly and great location

My sister and I have previously stayed at Mountainaire Inn and it’s a great location to walk to all things on main street in Blowing Rock. The rooms are small but very clean and the staff are friendly. The beds are comfortable’ish but the foam toppers make it a little challenging getting out of bed and I’m about 6 foot tall. Parking lot is small and a little difficult backing out especially if a car is parked alongside where the cabins are. The biggest complaint is the WiFi signal which is almost nonexistent (no change since last visit) even with being in a room closest to where the “office” is which is where I’d assume the router is located. This wouldn’t be a huge problem except for the poor cell service in the area. Overall we’d probably stay again for short trips given it’s proximity.

We had a great time.

Excellent location; super easy access to good food, markets, etc. Very quaint, clean and, though in the middle of town, very quiet. Comfy beds.

Nice and convenient. Clean and comfortable. Easily walkable to town

Great for one night in blowing rock

Nice quaint (older) property. Checkin person needs a bit of a customer interface adjustment; she was efficient, a tad abrupt and not “delighted to see a potential lifetime client. Big disconnect between her personality and what I think the new owners are looking to achieve.

We have stayed here in the past, it's very clean and the bed is very comfortable. Easily walkable to all of the restaurants in town. The only bad thing i can say is that you have to check in at another property, which is about a one minute walk.

Great location, old school and cute.

Stayed here many time. Very comfortable for the price

Very clean room and comforting. Not a very big parking lot, but as long as In a small car will be fine. Room doesn’t have a fridge or a microwave but there’s one of both in the small lounge area.

We were very pleasantly surprised by how warm and charming our room was. The bed was comfortable and the common area was a nice touch with all the thoughtful amenities. We liked that it was so close to the downtown area of Blowing Rock that we could easily walk there. We would definitely stay there again.

Nothing unique, didn’t like the service since the merger of the four different companies and only one for check in and service. Plus the rates have increased since the mergers. Not the unique place anymore.

Enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings. Would have liked to have been able to smoked out side our room. That is a deal breaker for me. Especially when we like to come visit in the cool time of the year.

Its a small Inn that is remodeled and done up very nicely. The room was small and quaint but very clean and the beds were very comfortable. There is a small reception area that offers coffee, tea, bags of ice and some very tasty chocolate chip cookies. There is also a nice fire-pit area where you can sit outside and enjoy the air. It is easily walk-able to downtown Blowing Rock as well. I would not hesitate to book another stay at this Inn again.

Parking place in front of room was snow and ice covered. Step up to entry was ice covered and treacherous. The room looked nothing like the online pictures. The room floor sagged so badly I kept loosing my balance even with the lights on! The interior walls weren't horizontal either. But it was neat and clean.

The rooms are clean but they really need new carpet it is past its shelf life.

Our group stayed in two separate rooms and for one night only so didn’t really get to explore the surrounding area. Beds were comfy and pillows were too, rooms were also nice and warm, good TV channels were available. The bathroom was okay, a bit of wear. I would have liked to have bottled water available. They do have water in a pitcher type thing but I don’t feel comfortable if it’s not sealed; coffee is also available. Overall it was a good stay, it was what we needed for a short trip. It was a 12 min drive to Appalachian Ski resort which was our main purpose.

Perfect location and easy to work with staff; very clean. 👍👍👍👍

Location was wonderful to stroll down Main Street to shops and restaurants. Quaint property.

We were sandbagged. The resort emphasized log cabins but we were put in a 1950’s motel with limited space and services

Filthy stained carpet leading into bathroom. Wall electric heater was hard to regulate.

Great location, right at the end of the town's Main Street, so you have parking for a short walk to the town's attractions.

I booked this property about 6months ago with a special request for a specific room, that we had stayed in previously, nostalgia reasons and the only reason I chose to come back to this specific property. I was told that shouldn’t be a problem to accommodate. However when we arrived and had to check in to the now “sister property” next door, I was greeted by a young girl that gave zero instructions on amenities and handed a key to a different room then I requested and expected. When questioned she apologized and said due to the length of stay they could not accommodate my request. Had I known I would have choose a different location to stay. My first visit to the mountainaire I was greeted with hospitality and a warm cozy feeling, told about shared spaces and even recall a community library, this time I was a number filling a room, had to walk a good way down the street to be handed a key and zero effort was given to my special request.

The cabin was perfect for our family getaway. We loved the coziness of the fireplace. The cabin had a front porch and back porch, which was enjoyable for sitting and watching. The kitchen was adequatley stocked for our purposes, fridge, small stove. Parking was assigned which made for no problems. Easy walk to dining and coffee shops. I highly, highly recommend.

I like the coziness of the property and how it was convenient to anywhere. I did not like how the room felt slanted from the bathroom forward to the front door.
2.0
The main issue that facilitated this poor rating was the bed which was extremely uncomfortable and to the point where my wife and I could not sleep and had back pain as a result. With respect to privacy, there is very little. The walls are paper thin and you can hear conversations in the room next door. This is NOT nearly worth $180 a night and Expedia should be ashamed to publish such glowing reviews because they are not accurate and false. I am asking for some type refund.

Despite getting there at 5pm, an hour before the on site check in closed, the office was closed with a sign they’d be back in 30 minutes. We waited outside for half an hour with two other couples. A bit inconvenient…
Room quaint, bed comfortable. By 8am they were out of coffee and when asked the staff, said they wouldn’t make more. 8am?

I have stayed here several times. I truly enjoy staying there. It’s close to downtown Blowing Rock, so I can park there and walk through shops, eat or get ice cream, etc.
The only negative, wasn’t with them, it was with the contractors who were working on a new building across the street. They were loud, used bad language and I couldn’t wait until they left. But the facility itself is wonderful!
