Terrible experience! Rooms look NOTHING like the pictures! The room wreaked like urine and they have bed bugs! I could not stay there and will be getting my money back

Absolutely terrible. Very bad part of town, mold in bathrooms, parking lot full of people who are not motel guests. Wouldn't recommend

This place should not be on hotels.com. The pictures shown are NOT how this place looks. The room was shabby, stains everywhere. My room overlooked an alleyway so I couldn’t even open my curtains.
The carpark had a lot of people hanging around and people who seemed to be sleeping in their cars.
The saving grace was that a doorman was around at night.
When presumably a ‘ lady of the night ’ (I’ve been made to change some words to get the review through) that I encountered on the way out of the place on the way to my car asked me why I was there and told me that I was ‘at the gateway to help’ (remove the letter p from that and add another l) the morning I left, it made me realise I could not have stayed anywhere much worse.
Do the right thing and stop advertising this hotel, I place a lot of faith in your site and this has made me doubt it.
There are other reviews saying similar but less graphic than this which sadly I did not check before booking, at the time I was in a hurry and had very little internet access, so I blame myself for that.

Cockroaches, refrigerator didn't work, lousy housekeeping, magnetic card to open door had to be continuously reprogrammed because it would not let me in.

Hotel was very run down and dirty including my linens. Looked like a recovery center or halfway house mixed with a brothel.

I booked a room here through Expedia for Saturday 8/31 of Labor day weekend. Many other hotels were full, but I thought the Red Lion Brand could be counted on as at least a decent hotel. Wrong! When I pulled into the parking lot there were at least 15 people milling around various parts of the parking lot, some openly doing drugs. 1 guy peeing in the parking strip. 1 lady drinking from a hose connected to the building. Most looked high, homeless and opportunistic. I had visions of walking out the next morning to find my truck up on blocks and no sign of my 2 bicycles which were securely locked to it. The 2 east indian guys behind the counter seemed indifferent to all the goings on at their hotel. I told them I didn't feel safe staying there and asked for a refund. They told me they would contact Expedia to approve it but that I had to initiate the refund process with Expedia, not them. Expedia said "after multiple tries, we weren't able to obtain an approval from the property manager, regarding your refund request". They offered me $?? in one key cash "as a gesture of goodwill". So now I'm out the hotel rate, -$?? for a room I never stayed in. No more Red Lion or Expedia. I'll save the review of Expedia's "customer service" for later.

I was very disappointed to say the least.
The staff was unprofessional and appeared to be under the influence of something. The area felt unsafe and my door to my room didn’t lock. My bed sheets were dirty, with black little hairs all over them and a burn hole. The room smelt like stale smoke.

I didn't like the fact it's in the shady part of town. It was also run down the inside looks good in lobby until you got to your room then it was sad and depressing.

Toilet broken, refrigerator broken, smelled so badly of cigarettes. The hallways smelled like weed. Someone pounding on my door at 10pm and again at 5am. Staff entering my room but not cleaning it and my bf found a bug in the fridge. This was the worst stay I’ve ever had.

Old sticky carpet, leaky faucet, homeless camp at the end of the street, people living in side room near lobby. Barely clean enough to sleep. AC worked good but loud. Not recommended, try the other Red Lion in town.

Prostitution in and around building, homeless/drug addict people in front of entrance to front desk, 24/7 homeless/drug addict people around the building/in parking lot, and across the street, broken glass in parking lot, loose dogs running around the halls and lobby in hotel…..
Honestly we were so uncomfortable to leave our room. We felt unsafe when we entered the property and when we left.
We stayed because we had already arrived and probably would’ve got our money back.
This is not a place for families or children.

It's a bag place the homeless encampment is right across the street garbage everywhere we never even checked in pulled up and then left it's not a safe environment

When we showed up there were drug addicts on the streets. Homeless shelter across the street. Very unsafe for a family. We didn’t stay left to a safer hotel. Do not stay here!

At check he was great and made sure i had a room on the 1st floor but after that it was terrible. The room was clean but no tissues and i asked the front desk staff to please bring some to my room as my fiance was still there but she didn't. Then no coffee in the room so woke up to late for breakfast so got some coffee but it ran out and they said breakfast was over so the would not make any more. I have NEVER been to a motel/hotel where there was no coffee maker in the room and have coffee in the lobby all day! Even the budget motels have a coffee maker in the room. They're was a microwave and small refrigerator so why no coffee maker? Worst customer service ever!

This was honestly the worst place I have seen. My room wasn't available when i checked in. The staff knew very little English. The property was filthy. No AC. Many customer complaints as we waited. I looked at a room they were rushing to make ready, and it was filthy. We cancelled and was told we wouldn't be charged but were and are currently working to get a refund.
Don't stay here. Red Lion, what has happened to you?

This property was beyond disgusting. It smelled like urine. Doors were broken off the hinges. There were strung prostitutes snd gang bangers hanging out in the parking lot. We could see from the parking out that the window coverings were broken. There was a drunk or high lady pushing a cart full of dirty laundry into her room and we were checking in at 9 pm. When we got our key the hallway was so dirty it had not been cleaned in years. The keys to the doors didn’t work. There were holes in the walls and blood stains also. It smelled like a drug den. We walked out snd will never be back. This is the worst hotel we have ever been to. We will never be back.

My first room had stains on the sheets. They moved me to another room that had holes in the drywall. The toilet had been used and not flushed. I had to leave and go to a different motel.

We saw the relative safety of the area and the dirty wondows and decided not to stay. We did not stay at Red Lion Inn.

Besides the amount of roaches we had to unalive, the peephole was covered with wet paper because the glass was broken.
Key cards were not working.
Pillows were terribly uncomfortable and not clean at all.
Cockroaches were coming out of the bathtub and the bathroom sink.
Even though it’s a no smoking hotel, the halls smelled like we*d and were sure there was a small bag of coc*ine in the hallway by a room.

The mattresses are literally falling apart. You can feel the shredded material under your back. Cigarette burns everywhere on the carpet on the furniture. Surrounded by homeless encampments.

I have been traveling around different states in the united states for last 5 years, this has been one of the worst experience. We came at 6 pm got the keys, went in and saw that room wasnt ready, got another room after some time. This Room was horribly dirty, nobody cleaned in last one month i guess, microwave was broken, shower knob broken, blood stains on the bed sheet. We travel around different parks and just spend the night in motels for a nice sleep, and we usually dont have high expectations. But trust me, this is not worth it. Horrible experience

The area was not desirable, upon walking to my room the hallway was dirty. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned. There was a roach in the shower!!!!

The outside of the building didn’t have much “curb” appeal and the surrounding area was on the “rough” side, but the room was very clean throughout and in good repair

The bed was comfortable, the room a generous size, and the room was relatively clean. However, the Red Lion, Yakima, is old and not maintained well. There are obvious wear marks on the laminate, porcelain (chip and stain), and what I hope was only black ink stains on the sheets. The surrounding area hosts a couple of homeless camp sites and I did not feel safe walking there.

Night time front desk guy was nice. Other than that the stay was awful. Loud, drug activity outside my window, bathroom was disgusting. The owner let himself into my room while I was sleeping, 2 HOURS BEFORE CHECK OUT, and made me get up and leave for no reason. I feel violated and creeped out I have no idea how long he was in my room before waking me up. I want a refund. This was unacceptable.

Hotel is obviously past it's prime. Door to room was difficult to open as the lock area has been broken in the past. Room had obvious drips from previous guests on the chair, table, and nightstand. Breakfast in the morning had no juice, nor any forks or knives when the only real breakfast item was waffles. While getting my breakfast another guest rang the service bell 3 times with obvious, loud conversation coming from behind the desk. I had to ask another person who was through an opening in the wall (I guess also ignoring the service bell?) if someone could come to the desk.
When I asked about the missing items from the breakfast area, the only response was "We're out"

Disgusting. A/C was broke, tv didn't work, wifi didn't work, the room was filthy and it had COCKROACHES! Do not stay there!

Poor condition, poor neighborhood, lots of homeless people about (and in hotel). Construction noise late at night. AC didn't work. TV, internet didn't work. No tissues. No coffee or continental breakfast. Pool & hot tub empty and space used for storage. Smoke detector removed from room. Can't believe that Red Lion would have their name on this motel.
