An old hotel but a decent location . Rooms are large, breakfast is very spartan and that’s a generous assessment.

There is nothing good about this place. Definitely avoid this place. First of all, it needs to be tear down and rebuild. I booked a room and when I got the room it was on the bottom next to the back that smells like wet dog. Inside the room smells stale, no air flow, towels are all torn up and light beige color not from the actual color. it used to be white but didn't; it looks like they got from second hand store. I asked to change room and they moved me to another room but its no different and charge me additional $15 that would put me at a rate that would be a 4-5 stars hotel. I slept full clothes because I'm scared to laid on the sheet just from the condition of the place. bathroom all mildew and no shower head; literally have to hold the shower head while showering. toilet seat broken and I had to disinfected with anti bacteria wipes before using it. If I can only upload video and pictures of this place as part of my review that would some up how I am describing it. I stay at hostel before and nothing compare to how dirty this place is. Staffs are not very friendly, maybe they're just don't care. Breakfast looked decent but how the conditions of the hotel is, i did not trust eating it. I went out to eat at another place. Paint on the all are peeling off. Floor squeaks, door don't shut right. i didn't spend much time in the room because it doesn't feel welcoming because of the condition so I stay at the bar next to it all night until ready to sleep. stay at your own risk

I went to bed one evening amidst heavy rainfall and woke up in the morning to find entire ground floor including my room flooded more than halfway to my knees! Idiot night receptionist apparently did not want to "disturb" sleeping guests and let everyone sleep. Many people had bags on the floor - including valuables such as charging devices, purses with passports and money, a laptop - which were completely drowned under muddy water for hours! If receptionist had simply awakened everyone to secure their belongings everything could have been saved rather than destroyed. Even in morning he refused to call manger to come early, nor did staff take any initiative to help guests clean/dry possessions, find other hotels, etc (cleaning staff busied themselves emptying hotel bucket by bucket). Seriously, what if it had been a fire??? We would all still be "sleeping."

The location is perfect - right in the main downtown area, but tucked away on a side street. The staff are pleasant and attentive, and the breakfast was quite good with real coffee. The rooms are comfortable, although the floor was quite dusty and some plaster was falling from the walls.

I don’t often leave reviews , however, this time I will. The good: air condition worked, room was decent size, the solo staffer at the front desk was pleasant. The BAD: Rotted food in the mini fridge, no room service i.e. no towels , toilet paper or bottled water. No shower curtain, bathroom water spigot either blocked or no pressure as the water dribbled out. Breakfast is pretty much non existent; Tea, toast, tomatoes, rice soup and some nasty looking chicken sausages in water. It was so bad , it was almost funny to look back at when telling friends about the experience. No, I would not stay there again, nor should you as you will be looking out the window at the nice hotel next door and thinking the same thing I was...” I wish I was staying over there.”

The staff and breakfast were great. The room had no windows, was on the first floor. When it rains water would leak down onto the floor and smell bad. As usual in Laos, the toilet seat was loose. But they had really good water pressure.

A great location close to the night market and across the road from Tullys Irish Pub. I was afraid that the location would prove to be noisy but far from it, at night the rooms were quiet. The pub does a great bangers and mash which makes a change from local food. Watch out for the desk clerk who will arrange anything for you but at a greater cost than if you do it yourself. Tuk tuk arranged 85 out but 50 back without bartering, transport to train station 400 but arranged by travel agent around the corner 85 including train ticket.

Our stay here was very nice, and the staff were very helpful. But there were no shower curtains in the rooms which resulted in a mess in the bathroom after each shower, and the only windows opened to a passage way, with potentially people walking by...so not as private as was hoping. Wifi was sketchy at first, but improved after asking.

There are cheaper hotels in this neighborhood. I choose this one, as it looked modern and fresh on the site. Reality is different. Our "superior " room was on the far side of the hotel, in front of were constructions were going on that started not at 8 am as stated, but at 7. On top of that, that room had a terrible smell, and walls were full of stains. The room was rather large though. I asked to changed as it was our honey-moon, but that was rejected, was it so difficult to give an upgrade, during the circonstances?
To be honest, breakfast was ok, with much to choose from, but no fresh coffee. I also want to state, that there is no free shuttle, as stated on Expedia. I did contact the hotel, who first refused to get us at the airport, but then when arriving send a taxi, that after a lot of discussions, they agreed to take in charge.
Short. I not think the hotel is worth the extra bucks, compared with others around, as it is not a pleasant room.

I go to Vientiane a couple times a year and thought Id check out Le Luxe this time. The hotel is rather nice, BUT - - - the mold/mildew smell in the room literally made me sick. I asked if they could do something which led to the lady spraying the room which did not help. The room was obviously aged as there were large chunks of paint pealing. Fortunately, I had only booked one night. Had I booked a longer stay, I definitely would have left early. The breakfast was very basic, but I think that was due to the low season.

I first stayed at the Le Luxe for 3 nights in August 2016, and I wrote a positive review. This time, in November, all should have been even better, as a return guest and with the pleasant weather season. But a big disappointment was in the location of the room. The first time, my room was around near the left side toward the front on the ground floor. I never checked the view out the window, since I didnt expect to see anything much; that was fine. But I didnt hear anything either; It was nice and quiet. This time, I got room L3, on the opposite side. It seems like a pack of dogs have taken over the area, and every few minutes (day and night), they would break out into a yapping and howling frenzy that seemed like they were inside the room! It was hard to sleep for more than a few minutes at a time. When I complained, the front desk was apologetic, but short of moving me to another room when it became available, they shrugged their shoulders as if to say the dogs are the boss, sorry, we cant do anything about them. Too bad that their fine hotel has to be hijacked by a pack of dogs!. On my final night, they offered to change my room to a superior room, but by that time all my stuff was unpacked and put here and there, too much trouble to re-pack and un-pack again. Also, I wanted to check out a couple hours late the next day, but could do that only from my existing dog-room. Their web-site should indicate that only Superior rooms were bark-free.

I stayed for 3 days, 3 nights for a Thai visa run. I finished in 2 days but was happy to stay the 3rd day. Check-in was quick and efficient. Breakfast was basic but good, including lots of cooked-to-order choices. Room large and comfortable. I could have used a choice of pillows, but these were not too terrible. Room was very clean and maid service did a good job. A few English TV channels on a large flat-screen. Good air-con, adequate lighting in room and bathroom and bedside (for reading).Only two problems: The shower-head and its wall clamp were not matching, so the shower head was aiming all over the place except down; mostly horizontal. Secondly, the room has only one spare electrical outlet, at the floor on the wall opposite the desk and not near the bed. None on the desk (for PC, phone charger, etc), you have to un-plug the TV or mini-fridge if you want power for your own stuff. And no outlet in the bathroom for hairdryer, etc. Eventually, the next day they found an extension cord and let me use it.Other than that, all was good. I would stay again.

Despite of business use, I tried an antique hotel once in a while.
And I could have comfortable days beyond expectation.
