The guesthouse was in a good location and the staff was fair. But it was absolutely filthy. There was thick black grime on the counter top and in the shower. The little red thing shown in the picture next to the sink is the cap of a toothpaste tube from a previous guest. The glass in the bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned in months. The sheets were wrinkled and did not appear to be changed from the prior guest.

The staff rocked, especially in the area of setting up tours and transportation. The location of this hotel was ideal and located to many of the major sights in the area.

The staff were kind and welcoming and helpful … breakfast each morning is so good. Keeps you full for a long time … internet can cut out sometimes and then works really well. Always helpful and informative. Is close to everything … all on walking distance

Nice staff!
Good location!

All things seem to be right in first sight, but there were plenty of problems.
First one is about hygiene. Heavy dust on the air conditioner, molded showerhead, and shower curtain. Furthermore, the water was not warm enough, but we endured it.
Second, about service. As other said, the lady in reception is kind and helpful. However, the guy with short hair tried to rip me off! He said that the fee of riding a minivan to Kuangsi waterfall is 45,000 kip/1 person. The time was right after we arrived, so we decided to rest first and didn't purchase. At night of the day, we could meet the lady. We decided to buy the service, so asked the price again. Then she pointed out the banner hanging on the left side on the wall and said it is 40,000 kip/1 person! It was equal to the information on the banner, and I slightly felt anger because he tried to rip me off although there was written pricetag near to me!
It seems I wrote mostly bad words about the place, but you would see many pros in other's comments. Just some descriptions of the breakfast are needed. The breakfast consists of 2 slices of bread, eggs(scrambled, fried, omelet), a cup of beverage(around 10 choices!), and 3 kinds of fruits. All of them are satisfactory.

The staff at this hostel are very friendly. Especially breakfast. You can choose from 9 kinds of drinks and 9 kinds of drinks. Nearby bakery, travel agency, and massage shop are located nearby and are safe and in good location. Very recommended. I applied for two twins but I was surprised by the family. I want to stay again.

Room was a bit small and noisy; bathroom was the standard wet bathroom, with old fixtures. There was hot water, but water pressure was fairly low. Wi-fi was so-so — frequently slow and inconsistent. On the plus side, room had A/C plus a fan, and an LCD TV with a good selection of channels. Breakfast was good, and the woman managing the place was exceptionally nice and helpful. Location was also good, about a 10 minute walk from the night market and all the restaurants. Room rate is very reasonable, so all said this is a good choice if you’re OK with a standard (not luxury) hotel.

Basic but clean, friendly and comfortable. We had one room for a family of four with good size beds. Shower not great but there was some warm water. Breakfast was ok. Good WiFi.

Breakfast is very good, its in a good area near the night market and many sites but it doesn't look that they clean anything other than the bed sheets.
For similar price and even cheaper I've stayed in a lot better accommodations in Laos.
Wifi is really bad, it comes and goes... But that has been the case all over Laos so it may not be guesthouse's fault.

Very warm welcome and very attentive staff. Room was equipped with all necessities in luding 2 fresh towels daily despite being the sole occupant of the room.. Excellent air conditioning but with a faint odor in the bathroom.Genenous breakfast. Perhaps unchipped and unstainef crockery would have improved the breakfast experience. An offer to take desk magazines to the room to read was appreciated.

I really can't fault the place. The lady in charge was delightful. For the money I paid the room was very good. Breakfast was made to order. I left to stay elsewhere but that was so bad I came right back here again.

We booked a double room and we were more yhan happy with the room! There was a BIG double bed (extra bed) + a single bed. The room was very clean and the bathroom as well. Ben (think he was the owner) greeted us with a fruit platter and juice and was and showed us a map of the town and where to go and what to do and helped us book a few stuff as well. The breakfast and the wi-fi in the room were good as well. The only negative i can think of was that the hot water didnt get so hot. It wasnt cold, but just not so hot.Would definitely recommend this!
