I did not like this property. I walked in and everything smelled of smoke and I could not find the front desk. Every thing was dark and just did not look clean. The first impression was so bad I refused to stay there.

This place is really only for those on a budget. No access to microwave or refrigerator. No private shower / toilet, only 2 in whole place, so you may have to wait around in morning. Wi-Fi sucks. You have to stand to watch the tv, can't see lying in bed or sitting. Its a 20 min walk to downtown Kaiserslautern, no type of nightlife within a few blocks. Its street parking, the earlier you park for the night, the better chance you have of having close spot. Bed linens were uncomfortable. Tile floors seemed kinda dirty. One good thing if ur a smoker, is that many rooms have a private balcony.

I rated this hotel a 1, (I might have given it a 2) because we made arrangements to be picked up at the Airport. I arrived at 2330, with a departure time for our connecting flight at 0650. I didn’t want to wait in the Airport with children. I tried to get ahold of the driver through the Booking service, it took an hour. I also tried calling the hotel, the Young lady said that was arranged through the Booking service she didn’t have anything to do with that. I asked for and received help from an Island Air employee at the customer help desk. I contacted the actual driver that was supposed to pick us up, I couldn’t understand what he was saying because he was slurring his words. What I did understand was his car broke down. I gave the phone to the Island Air employee, I thought she might be able to understand what I thought might be an Islandic accent. After she talked with him, he said I should catch a cab; she asked if he was paying for it since he was supposed to be there to pick us up; he said no. She also said that he sounded intoxicated. She made arrangements to get us to the hotel at no charge, we did have to pay for a cab the next morning to get back to the hotel. This by far was the worst experience I have had, especially having kids with me. Next time I will either ensure that I get a better hotel, or review the layover times closely. The hotel room was too hot, the temp controls were removed from the radiators.

Hotel was very old and run down. Pillows smelled bad. No lights in the stairwell making it feel unsafe. The bathroom was literally a closet, so small with closet doors and no toilet paper. We were in an attic room with 2 skylights and no blinds to block the early sunrise. Employee at check in spoke no English and had to call someone to complete our check in even though we had our hotels.com reservation printed for them. They were both at least friendly. The person on the phone (manager?) had no knowledge of our reservation or the price we had been quoted. Hotels.com price was the same as posted at the hotel, not a special rate. Parking was metered, limited, and on the street only. I have never written a negative review before, but want to save others from picking this hotel. Highly recommend staying elsewhere.
