Nice place to stay. Affordable price. Friendly staff. Rooms were clean. Walkable distance from Odawara station.

Cosy hostel with cooking facilities. The beds are very close together with no storage space and there is no where to secure any belongings.

いい場所だったと思う。
綺麗し、皆が親切し、安いし、そして外国人に人気が強い。
小さい問題だけ。大きなロッカーがないから、客は皆荷物をもってへやに入る。あの荷物は、時々変な臭いがでる。
Nice cosy place populat with foreigners. Clean with good facilities and kind staff. Just doesn't have big lockers and some people's belongings smell strange.

It is really not nice place, I wouldn’t recommend to stay there to anyone. I had a room next to reception and there were people talking till late night which I could hear in the room. However I must say people at the reception are nice.

Perfect for hakone even though it's in Odawara. Good way to save money. Lovely little hostel and close to the train station

When they say the hostel is closed between 12 and 4 they mean literally closed and you cant use it! We got back at 3:15 one day and they wouldnt let us in, which was a bit weird considering there was a member of staff sat in there. The common area was also always taken up by the various staff members which wasnt very welcoming. The hostel was ok though, the location was decent if you had the travel pass to get into Hakone and the cooking facilities was okay also. Free tea and coffee is always nice but we werent actually told about this. We only stayed two nights which was fine, any more though and we may have felt a little squashed with the limited communal space.

The rooms, beds and shower rooms are clean All beds equipped with two sockets, one lamp and two hangers.
房間、床位和淋浴間非常乾淨。所有床位都配有兩個插座、一盞燈和兩個衣架。
The room is very small. It will be a little bit crowed if your luggage is too big.
請留意一點是房間非常小,行李太大便會有點擁擠。

It was a great hostel! The beds could be a bit more comfortable but the bathrooms and showers are really clean. They could be bigger but at least they're spotless :) the lounge area is really nice and the employees are welcoming! Definitely recommend for backpackers.

The front desk people are friendly. Hostel is well equipped with everything I need. In addition, location is good. I had nice sleep here and will choose to stay here again.

This is the worst guest house and hostel I have ever stayed. The staff was friendly, but the facility was the worst. They only provided one toilet and two showrooms. Then you can imagine we were always queueing in the evening and morning. Plus we only could brush the teeth in the showroom that we needed queue for that. Of course there was a sink in the kitchen, if you don't mind to bother other cooking. The public space was extremely narrow. No one wants to stay there long. You can leave your luggage after the checkout, but no staff were there during 12:00-16:00, that means you can not get back your luggage during these time. The curtain beside my bed was moldy. That was disgusting. They need to change it. Finally as a guest house it was expensive.

Hostel is not that big but good for a stay. Bathrooms are modern and the bedrooms were clean and tidy. Hostel does not have much room for a common area but big enough based on the number of guests it can hold.

I stayed in the hostel for my weekend trip to Hakone. The hostel is located a short distance away from Odawara station, which makes traveling to Hakone or other close stations convenient. There are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby. The hostel was easy to find, clean and had a small communal kitchen with utensils and snacks. Showers had free shampoo, conditioner and body soap. The shared rooms were comfortable and clean, with closable curtains, power outlets, and lights on every bed. The beds are nice and roomy. Rooms also had air conditioning, but I can imagine it can get hot during summer, so I suggest on choosing a bed closest to the AC during summer months. The floor-area can get crowded with everyones luggage, so taking a small bag might be a good idea. The staff was nice and friendly, most of them spoke very good English. They seemed more than happy to sit and talk with quests on the communal areas. They can also recommend restaurants, clubs and sightseeing spots nearby. The hostel is closed every day from 12:00 to 16:00, so take that into account. They officially lock their door at 21:00 every night, but its possible to get in by using the number pad on the door (the staff will tell you the code during check-in). The hostel can hold your luggage even after checkout, which was a great plus. Overall my stay was great. Id recommend this hostel to anyone who is on a budget and is fine with sharing a room.

Tiny. Dorm rooms with no place to store your cases, tiny but useful kitchen, convenient to train terminal where we had the best soba bowls. Guests from all over, good company..if you're not claustrophobic we,d recommend it.

How I can discribed the plum hostel. It was the best moment I had during the trip in japan. Hayato the owner is really a helpful person. He 'll try the best that is could and even more to help you to find your way around Hakone and the surronding.
Speaking of the place, really nice place small but you 'll feel kinda like home. If you take the time to speak with hayato and the other guest. The neighborhood is very convinent a lot of restaurant ( japanese, chinese, occidental and other), shop and gaming center.
In the overall it a great place for backpacker and other people. Not to far from tokyo like 20 minute and 2 hour to kyoto. Try it! If you could stay for more than 2 night you 'll feel the magic of plum hostel and odawara!

The hostel is not fancy, but provides everything you need. Rooms can get a bit crowded with luggage, but the beds are comfortable and have privacy curtains, as well as individual outlets for charging your electronics. There are two showers and you can rent a towel. There is a small kitchenette area and a very cozy seating area in the lobby. You are only 10 minutes from the train station, and probably less if you arent dragging a bag. You are just around the corner from a street with bars/restaurant/karaoke if you are there on the weekend. You are only three train stops from Hakone (10 minutes?) making this a close and budget friendly way to see the sights there.

The hostel is very near station, but a little bit hard to find at night.
The staff is very nice and helpful.
The room is nice and comfortable, the bath room and toilet is separated and very clean.
