Accomodation is affordable and great service overall!

A part from being friendly and kind, my room was a disaster. On the wall were falling apart wires of a TV that was taken away; in the bathroom the WC had water only after 8 hours of filling its sink drop by drop (I told the person on duty: oh, thank you for telling me… ok, but I meant to have it repaired!) Only occasionally there was hot water and not all the glasses of the windows would close: the neighbours were speaking a bit loud and smoking in the courtyard and I had noise and smoke smell in the room. On the back there is a small table and a chair, that I guess were taken directly from a rubbish depot.
All this could even pass in a hostel in India, but not if you pay 100 US$ per night.
The motel is in a dark area were you get constantly aggressed by the dogs one block after the excellent restaurant Mum’s.
Don’t go here, and if this is the normal value for money that you get in Tonga, leave the nice tongans to their prayers and go somewhere else

A great welcoming staff. Car hire just down the road too. Good aircon and large rooms. Security during the night - very safe. Would definitely stay here again.

Easy check in after reception desk hours. Great spacious place to stay. Very clean and staff very understanding when we requested to cut short our stay due to personal reasons. Definitely recommend.

Pros
The best thing was the comfortable bed and pillows. Very clean sheets and pillow slips. The breakfast was adequate and appreciated for a small facility. Very nice and helpful staff- thanks!
Cons
Somewhat noisy in area from early roosters and the odd barking dog. On one morning the kitchen had the radio blaring at 6.30am.
The room and building in need of a serious makeover to reflect the high price. Some areas of room could be cleaned better, for example, the tops of some light switches and power outlets (which had an accumulation of dust). The bathroom tap handle was shiny only where hands touch it, indicating it is not regularly cleaned/polished. A broken chair had a taped up leg (should be better repaired or replaced). Shower was only warm on the sunny days I was there.
Am happy to stay here again if the price matches the poor quality of the tired facilities. Otherwise, would try elsewhere for that money.

Nice and spacious rooms, good hot water, great price, and good internet that worked most of the time, which many places do not have. The staff were kind and made a late check in (and check out) simple and easy. The one downside is going to town for dinner is a bit of a walk and sometimes have dogs on the street that get territorial, so recommend having a car even though it's not far.

Free breakfast, which i love the la'i keke vai (island panckae), fresh organic pawpaw and watermelon.

Had a really nice stay at Simon's Place in Nuku'alofa. It's a short stoll to the town centre. Beds are comfortable and the neighbourhood is quite quiet. Great to have a fridge and kettle in the room. Towels were good quality. As well as the usual self serve continental breakfast items there was also delicious fresh fruit plus tasty homemade pancakes and donut type things. It was nice to be able to have breakfast out on the verandah. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful at all times. Carpets in some of the bedrooms could do with replacement and refreshing the paint on some of the bedroom walls would take the guest experience up a notch, but overall I enjoyed my stay and it was a positive experience.

It's all you need for a stay in Nuku'alofa. You're going to Tongatapu so you need to manage your expectations. But Simon's place was clean and everyone was very nice.
We arrived at 230am and the person in charge took me to get water to a nearby shop.

We had a fantastic 8 day stay here and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were collected from the airport late at night without any problems. Our room was large and clean, with good ac, a kettle and a comfortable bed. Although there was no TV, there are plans to install new ones soon. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They made our stay relaxing. The hotel provides a generous free breakfast and serves food during the day at good prices. It is in a good location, just a short walk from the centre, royal palace and museum. I would definitely stay here again.

The imployees were very polite, helpfull and friendly. I felt so very welcome during my stay there.

5 minutes from waterfront, 8 minutes from town center this is a well placed hotel with friendly knowledgeable staff.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, and really make you feel welcomed and wanted. I would recommend that you book any taxis or tours through the hotel as they are cheaper than those offered by other tour companies in town and as just as good. Wi-fi is limited to the communal area and restricted to 100Mb per stay (although additional access was very reasonable at T$5 for an extra 100Mb). Breakfast was basic (toast or cereal), but the coffee top notch. Room was also rather basic and a bit dated (as seems to be the Tongan way), but was clean and comfortable. Bathroom had been renovated to a high standard, the only gripe being the take of a ledge to put one's toiletries, etc on. It is a 10-15 minute walk into town (even less to the Royal Tombs which are literally at the end of the road), but about half of that is unpaved and not particularly well lit at night. Also, the local alarm clocks of cockerel, barking dogs and church bells are set quite early, so this is not a hotel to stay in for a late lie in!
