We loved our stay at Los Patios in Medellin. The staff were friendly and Sarah made sure that, even though we were very early for our check in, our room was ready as soon as possible so we could sleep after our long flights. The rest of the staff were eager to answer questions and give recommendations. They spoke good English so it was easy to communicate. The private room we got was very clean and comfortable. The air conditioning was exceptional. The area around the hostel has amazing restaurants and entertainment and it is easy to walk to other neighborhoods. The hostel is quite loud at night and we could hear music playing until about 3am every night but we expected this because it has a young atmosphere and the neighborhood hosts a lot of parties. So if you are wanting something quieter this may not be the place to stay. It didn’t bother us though! This is a great place to meet other travellers as well. They sell water and other drinks in the lobby however it is cheaper to buy them from the markets beside the hostel. If you need a fun place to stay in Medellin this is the place!

Best common kitchen and friendly proactive staff.

Amazing place to stay and make friends. There is always something to do since the Hostel hosts a variety of events of all types from tours to hikes to dance lessons or parties. The location is great and there’s countless options for food and the metro station is just a few min walking. Last but not least the staff was amazing, very attentive and super friendly which created a family like environment that I enjoyed. I would highly recommend staying at Los Patios!

Great clean hostel. Super well located. Facilities were great, there is plenty of spaces to enjoy solo time as well as communal spaces to meet people. The only less than ideal thing to note is that it is quite loud. We had a private room on the first floor and music blares until 11pm and noise starts as of 8am.

An amazing boutique hostel - I had a private room and it was such a good combination of having your own space but with all the tours and social activities of a hostel. Ask for a room in the suites building if you can, as it’s very noisy in the main building. The staff, activities, tours, facilities etc are all top notch. I really enjoyed my time there.

We booked for 3 nights, non-refundable, and left after 1 night. It’s not fair to fault the hotel, it my mistake booking somewhere without air conditioning. Our room was hot and would not cool down. The fan circulated the hot air but made a ton of noise, we found it unbearable to sleep so we left after 1 night and paid a small fortune but time on a vacation is too valuable to be exhausted and have no break from the Colombian heat. No AC in Colombia is just a bad plan.
Pros: super friendly staff, awesome social events, rooftop pool and bars were great, room was clean. Location was good.
All in all it was my error not setting search criteria to include AC only

Best hostel to meet people and be in the thick of it at Poblado, but the rooms are actually pretty basic, unclean and even falling apart. Overpriced but you pay for access to their events and to meet other travellers, so probably still worth it!

We check in on Saturday night and the last floor and the hotel in front was in full blast party time until 2am. Also the window and walls are not soundproof therefore it was very loud.

Very nice, clean rooms and friendly atmosphere, great way to meet other people.

Loads of tours on offer, a 24/7 laundry service, super friendly and attentive staff, cleaners are always around!
My only complaint is about the Magdalena room being right next to the gym meaning you can hear people all the time - other than that everything was great!

Everything you could possibly want in a hostal: amazing pool, small gym, friendly staff and guests, perfect location, and more.

To start off the bunk beds are well built and do not creak like most other places. They have privacy curtains and outlet/light inside. Large lockers inside the room for plenty of storage. Bathrooms are clean. This has been the best hostel I’ve stayed in so far. Lots of daily activities like a Spanish class with Steven, I’m at a pretty basic spanish level and he made the class fun and accommodating for all levels. I also went on a club crawl and the host Stephaniee was very helpful with her nightlife knowledge and made the night fun with her upbeat energy. Thanks for having me 😊

This was my first time travelling solo as a female in south america and choosing to stay this hostel was the best decision I made. The area is super central and safe with lots of great food options within walking distance. I stayed in a private room as I was working remotely for the week and the internet was great and I was still able to meet a lot of people through the hostel facilities. I ended up doing all of my tours through the hostel including a football match, comuna 13 walking tour and Guatape. All of the tours and the bar hopping/party bus nights were so well organized and conveniently booked at the front desk or rooftop bar. The staff were amazing and treated you like a friend. Two staff members Antony and Juli took me out on the party bus the first night I arrived and made sure I had the best first visit to Colombia. I would highly recommend this place and I would stay here again :)

Reception and Bar Staff 10/10 (Ivonne was amazing and super friendly)
Social atmosphere 9/10
Property condition 5/10 (ok for a hostel)
Location 5/10 (decent immediate amenities but far from El Poblado proper - 15mins walk)
Room amenities 3/10 (very basic, old)
Pool 3/10 (small and only one sun bed)
Value for money 2/10 (at $55/night you can get more for your money elsewhere)
Noise 0/10 (incredibly noisy music my head was pounding and I could feel the bass in the room throughout the day)
Night security guard 0/10 (very rude person)

Good location, clean and the staff were somewhat friendly. I found that the rooftop bar was very overpriced (Guests would leave after a day or two) and the doorman wouldn't allow non-guests to wait for guests in the reception. Only to be told to wait outside. Dorm rooms were quite small too. For the price, I don't know if I could recommend

Rooms were very clean, staff very friendly and great location

Rooms were good but bar was average, used to close early or only serve shots/beer at certain times, quite noisy even on weekdays and in my opinion not the best location

Great place with great location. It has a lot of cool amenities including lounges, bar, coffee shop and a terrace with pool.
Staff is a bit indifferent but helpful.
Really close to the nicest areas of Medellin such as Parque Lleras and Procenza.
Rooma are claen and spacious.
A but loud.

Not a bad place.
But, VERY NOISY even late at night, and there is no curfew !
I was tired from traveling and needed to sleep but couldn't. Even at 12:30 AM the noise [people talking, screaming, loud music, etc] was still very loud.
I will never stay here again !

This is a backpacking factory, professional and in a large scale. I had a private room which was a good hostel room, overpriced but the hostel was fully booked.
I stayed in Medellin for full two days and could book all my sightseeing through the reception.

Great spot! Clean rooms and good amenities, and lots of activities to do each day. The guests were all fun to be around and the hostel had a great atmosphere.

The best hostel in Medellín if you are wanting a party / social scene. The hostel organizes party buses and bar hopping events on the weekends. The rooms were a bit small for the amount of people in them. However, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are super clean. Oh and the shared kitchen is top notch.

Staff, when we arrived, were friendly and helpful. Had a private room that was small. Sleeping was difficult as the window opens onto the foyer and so you could hear people walking up and down and talking all night and it was noisy from the music playing in the bar. Check out, the member of staff was rude, disinterested and took ages, and wasn't even helpful when we asked some questions about the next place we were going to. You could honestly stay plenty of other places that were nicer than this.

I really enjoyed the hostel however I did not like the fact there were no locks on the dorm doors. The rooms were nice and kept clean. The staff was really nice as well!

Very nice place. Clean, affordable, with a great view of the city

Hostel was extremely clean, less than 10 minute walk to Poblano metro station. Neighborhood felt extremely safe. Bed was comfortable and shower stall amazing for hostel although water pressure was a little weak.

Los Patios Hostel is very new and clean. However in my private room, I could hear doors closing, showers, hairdryers, people in the kitchen downstairs, and some street noise.

Beautiful and clean hostel with great parties organised on the rooftops. However, my private room didnt offer a window opening to the exterior which felt a bit claustrophobic as I like to see what is happening outside and let some fresh air in. But it had all the comfort needed - earplugs are kindly provided (you will need them). A massive thanks to Mauro, Sarah and most of the super friendly staff who helped me a lot to organise the rest of my trip while my phone was stolen during a pub crawl (be VERY careful, Poblado is full of pickpockets!)
2.0
Lively hostel with good amenities. The daytime construction and night time parties made it not so relaxing. Our sink drain was leaking on the floor, but a couple days after reporting it they had it fixed. The rooftop patios were nice for a drink, with nice views of the city. Location is good and walkable.
2.5
The best hostel Ive stayed in by far. great activities, high standard facilities, co-work, and atmosphere. definitely would stay again !
