What a charming, quaint, historical hotel. We enjoyed it. It was clean, quiet and well located to both Stetson as well as bars/restaurants. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if in the area. The owner was very nice. We enjoyed our stay. The bar was really cool, although we didn't have drinks there, and the menu looked great too. We did not see anyone at checkout so left the keys at the front desk. I think this was actually nicer than staying at the chain hotels down the street.

This is a very laid back place with a marvelous 100 year old hotel. The owners were very nice and helped us through the storm Milton.

Nice Colonial hotel.

This hotel is a rare gem! The rooms are beautifully decorated and the beds (there were 3 in our room 202 2-bedroom suite) were heavenly. One hilarious drawback to my king size 4 poster was that it was so high that I literally had to climb up into it as I am rather short, lol! Since it is in an old Victorian era mansion, I expected climate control to be an issue, but it was wonderful. Despite the hot, muggy, rainy late July in Central Florida weather, the rooms were perfectly cooled via a central HVAC system complemented by very efficient ceiling fans. While the hallways were hot, the moment we entered the room, the temp was just right and the humidity was completely comfortable. Even the bathroom had a vent. I would advise taking ear plugs/white noise app or machine as the downstairs restaurant live music was really loud, and there is some traffic noise, but as I had both ear plugs and a white noise machine I was totally oblivious to it while getting a great night's sleep. In addition there is no elevator, so be prepared to climb lovely staircases, but management is on hand to help with luggage if needed. All in all, if I could duplicate this hotel in every venue I visit, I would be one happy traveler!

The Deland Hotel is a wonderful place to stay in the heart of Deland. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and charming atmosphere. The hotel has a historic feel, combining old-fashioned elegance with modern comfort. The rooms are nicely decorated, and every detail is carefully thought out. The staff are incredibly friendly and make sure you have everything you need for a perfect stay. The hotel feels cozy and welcoming, like a home away from home.
What makes The Deland Hotel special is its dedication to making your visit memorable. The on-site restaurant serves delicious local food, and the outdoor garden is a peaceful place to relax. The hotel is in a great location, close to Deland's lively downtown with its cute shops, cafes, and cultural spots. Whether you're here for a romantic weekend, a family trip, or business, The Deland Hotel offers an unforgettable experience that will make you want to come back.

super cool historic hotel. The staff is awesome and friendly. The old bar is a great spot to hit before or after entertaining down town. the in house restaurant is great as well. highly recommend staying here verse any of the big name hotels don't waste your money. This place wont disappoint

A neat and historic place to stay in the non-descript town of DeLand, with comfy beds and a great value in terms of both the room and the restaurant below!
4.5
Room is clean but spartan. Takes a while to get hot water
No drinking glasses in the room, needed to go to bar to get a glass of water
Soap in room is tiny and one needs a bigger bar for a shower
No breakfast! Coffee is Kuring at check in desk…decent coffee and:or coffee is too far away to walk

This is an old hotel on the historic register. Lots of classical appeal. No elevator! and guest rooms are on floor 2 or 3. My room was relatively small. There was a queen bed, a bedside nightstand, a big dresser, and an easy chair in the bedroom space; a good sized bathroom with a toilet and bathtub. Sink was in the bedroom space. A good-sized closet with an ironing board and iron. The bathtub was an old claw-foot design. I did not bathe or shower during my stay (3 days) because I was afraid I might slip in the tub. Very slick when wet! and no underfoot grip- mat available. Also, due to the size of the tub , you literally have to climb in and out. Im 5.5 and I did not want to risk slipping while I climbed in or out. There was a light on the nightstand, and over the sink. None near the easy chair. There was no convenient place to set up my laptop except in my lap. There were 2 available outlets. The clock had a USB port AC was good. There was an overhead fan. No coffee in the room. There was a keurig coffee maker on the 1st floor with kcups, creamer, sugar, and paper cups available. If you wanted coffee when you got up you had to get dressed to some degree and go down and get it. Same with ice. Ice was available in the bar and restaurant area. Bar opened around 4 and closed around 10 or 11. Rest. was eves only Also on the 1st floor. Staff were friendly and great people. Their service was excellent. In sum, a nice place, but Im 80; I won't go back.

We come to Deland a couple of times a year and have stayed at the DeLand Hotel a few times. This particular trip revolved around Delandapalooza. We love everything about this hotel...location; amenities; feel; on-site bar, restaurant, and shops; parking; and price.

Everything about the DeLand Hotel has been well thought out by the owner and staff. Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel was quaint and comfortable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for a fun weekend.

This is a lovely hotel with tons of character and friendly staff. Easy check in and check out. Lovely room with beautiful furnishings. Would definitely stay again. Loved out time there.

We stayed over in DeLand for the evening. We arrived in Florida earlier in the week for work, but decided to stay a couple extra days. DeLand High School was the alma mater- the city and school have both grown exponentially since graduation.
Getting back to the stay...
The check-in was quick and courteous. We stopped by the recently renovated bar to get ice- both of the bartenders were attentive and knowledgeable regarding our questions. We did not realized we had rented a suite so that was a bonus! Overall, we had a great experience and plan to stay again on our next visit.

Historic hotel, great bar.

The room had a beautiful view of looking into the city towards all the fun. Not noisy at all, and very accommodating to your needs

This property excellent in every way .looking forward to another stay

This hotel advertises itself as a boutique hotel. That is such a good description. The property is an old building, but it’s very well taken care of, and it’s so charmingly decorated to match the era it was built. The staff was phenomenally friendly and made sure we were taken care of. The restaurant on sight was reasonably priced and the food was fantastic. Both nights we went there, there was live music. I will definitely look this place up again if I visit the area.

Bar & restaurant were closed, would not ave stayed there if we had known that. A larger TV is definitely in order.
4.5
Perfect for a couple’s trip! Super comfortable beds and loved the antique furnishings throughout the property and in-room. The restaurant’s offerings were incredibly good. We will be back!
4.5
Historic property in need of room updating. We had but one set of outlets, none in bathroom. Touch up paint on wall over window and a claw tub not good for seniors. Plastic shower curtains that stuck to you. Bar is terrific and we understand the restaurant is very good. Probably will not go back except for drinks.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights over Valentine's Day. For these special days, we look for unique properties that aren't usually part of a chain. (Think Bed and Breakfast OR historic hotels.). The Deland Hotel seemed to fit the bill. If was fine, I wouldn't describe our experience much further.
The property is old and tired. Yes, it was clean (except for VERY dirty windows), but the furniture was just old and not particularly comfortable. I kind of liked the bed, but my wife didn't get much sleep. The bed was so high off the ground, that she couldn't get into it without considerable effort.
The shower was just OK, but the water never did get beyond lukewarm, and the old claw footed bath tub that served as the shower base was cramped and difficult to get into and out of.
We never saw anyone manning the front desk, either on check in or check-out, nor at any time during the day. To be fair, they made it easy to check in anyway by leaving a key to the locked entry door and the locked room in a cup outside on a table. That worked, but is a bit creepy when you stop to think about it.
The on-site restaurant doesn't open until dinner. (We didn't eat there, but it did seem to be a popular place for the locals.). The well-stocked bar opened at 4:00 and was staffed by one of the owners, who was charming and welcoming.
The owners are new, and they are definitely trying, but they have a ways to go to make this a property I'd highly recommend.

This was a early 1900s property and it shows. If you like history, its awesome. The bed slept well and the linens were lovely. We enjoyed our time very much and would return.

Quaint, nostalgic, friendly staff, live music and food/drink options.

I honestly will miss this place. Stayed here 2 days and felt like family. Jalisa makes the best old-fashioned Ive had in my life and I live in New Orleans
4.5
Love the vintage vibe and the huge porch. The bed was cozy and comfy with nice linens and pillows and I looved the claw foot tub. Our suite with extra beds was a perfect fit. The front desk check in was easy and she was very attentive and friendly. The roof was being replaced while there so a bit of noise around that in the morning but i know it couldn't be helped

Absolutely beautiful. The classic Victorian charm threw out the hotel makes you feel like you stepped back in time. The cafe had some of the best food and for a very affordable price. The bar had amazing and fun cocktails. It almost reminded me of the spookeasy in Tampa.
Would recommend this hotel for anyone to stay at while visiting deland.

Wonderful old hotel full of character and history. Easy access to downtown.
4.5
The hotel lobby was beautiful. The biggest problem for us was there was never anybody at the front desk and the rooms were not cleaned. We were expecting the beds to be made, and to have fresh towels. They also need new pillows desperately. There wasn’t anyway to control the room temperature. It got a little too warm for us.
4.5
The BAR was the best thing about this hotel. Wonderful old bar with great bartender and a plethora of alcohols and liquors. However, this old hotel despartely needs to be updated. Hot water is limited. Matress very old. Wouldn't stay again.
4.5
Fun and beautiful old hotel.
4.5
Beautiful ornate dark wood cozy bar. Good food, great hosts!
4.5
Bar staff was excellent! There was very little help on the hotel side. Room 104 thermostat is in the hall so regulating the temperature can be a challenge. Also, it takes a while to get hot water up to the room from the water heater.
The lounge is the best part of the property. Staff in there were really nice. One free drink included with the stay each night. The food was great (best crab cake ever….all crab and no breading).
4.5
Nice historical hotel. Could use some cleaning in the rooms and bedding. Room was hot and try to get a room that isn’t on the front, traffic can be load. Bar and food were excellent and the staff was great
