I had requested 3 beds in a room specifically and order was received and accepted. When I went to the Hotel we werw told they had only 2 rooms. They were offering an upgrade to give us 3 bedroom. Person at the front refused to honor the request. Very poor customer service

We had great experience, Hotel Ungheria has nice rooms, great service and a delicious breakfast. We'll definitely return anytime we're back in the area. Everything was superb, the only negative thing😂 was the recycled toilet paper (regular paper is actually more ecological than recycled paper).

Simply FANTASTIC! After a long drive from Frankfurt we were great with a smile and outstanding Italian hospitality. Everyone at the hotel was so warm and welcoming. Our room was extremely comfy and spacious. We had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was in fabulous Italian style. The Chef made the most delicious scrambled eggs. Cappuccinos YUM! The buffet was filled with local meats, cheeses, fruits, yogurts, bread and more. Sadly we only stayed one night. If you are looking for an amazing stay in Verse, you have found a gem with the Hotel Ungheria Varese 1946. Grazie!!!

The hotel is a good transit hotel. We stayed there 3 days to be at equal distance of Como and Lago Maggiore to visit conveniently both sites. The hotel location was not a good choice, because Varese is not very attractive. The hotel is just good but not exceptional : to far from downtown Varese and restaurants; getting a place in the tiny free parking is a lottery except if you reserve a place at a cost of 10€!

Was a ok hotel. Very clean. OK price, big room. Don't understand why it should be central. Not for the old city of Varese or as base for travel to ... The breakfast was not ours at all but this is subjective. lot of yogurts. The breakfast room more like a youth hostel.

The people are what make this hotel so amazing! From the day of arrival onwards, I was treated as a true guest at this wonderful hotel. Everyone went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Varese is a lovely town situated close to Lake Cuomo, Milan, and Switzerland, which makes this hotel an ideal “home base” for day trips. My room was super clean and spacious, the only complaint being that the walls are a bit thin and I had very “active” neighbors for a night or two. There is limited parking, and although public transportation is good and convenient, taxis are few and far between! I would definitely recommend staying here as it is a good value, especially when considering the breakfast buffet which is included!

Nice hotel and good staff but the area the hotel is located is too far from the centre and not much around. Maybe it is fine for business travel but not really a hotel for a romantic break. Our luggage was lost by KLM on the outbound journey which didn't help to make the long weekend a success

Excellent hotel. Friendly, helpful staff, all of whom speak good English luckily, and enabled us to stay 2 extra nights in the same room by juggling rooms allocated to new arrivals. The room was very big, very clean and very well equipped with a huge balcony, and there is a lift to all floors. Breakfast was excellent with a huge choice of fruits, yoghurts, patisserie and jams as well as scrambled eggs and ham. Only drawbacks are the lack of a restaurant for dinner with limited choice nearby within walking distance and it is situated on quite a busy main road. There are half a dozen parking spaces behind the hotel and a few in a carpark behind that.

This hotel is definitely off the beaten path from the city center of Varese but it still has a fair amount of charm. The breakfasts are really great and include fresh mozzarella, fresh squeezed orange juice, and an excellent tea selection. They also bake many of their own pastries. It’s a real family establishment. Try to get a room on the upper floors on the back side of the hotel. Those rooms overlook the lake while the ones in the front overlook a somewhat busy thoroughfare.
