The worst experience ever. Someone stole my earphones and money in the room. If you ask about the tour and do not go on, they get mad and try to do the tour.

We came to stay just for the bed. The staff were amazing and generous. Very accommodating.
They organised tuktuk for Sigiriya Rock and Cave Temple and were willing to help in every possible way. Good food recommendations.
Sadly we didn't get time for the pool which looked so inviting

The place is very nice, friendly and staff are very helpful. My room have AC/Balconey and there is a large swimming pool.
Sri Lankan breakfast very tasty. Only problem is a bit out of the way however they do have bicycle you can use.
Overall, I am happy and feel safe at Freedom Village Hotel I would stay there again if I were to come back to Dambulla .

We loved this hotel! Set off the main road in Dambulla,it is a little oasis. Quiet, comfortable and the staff were amazing. The breakfast was excellent, freshly prepared daily. There are a bunch of resorts up the road that cater to tour groups and you are stuck in the middle of nowhere. Here you are a short 5 min walk to the main street and markets, restaurants etc.
This place is a hidden gem.

The room and shower are very basic but it was we needed for an overnight stay. The staff are extremely helpful and try and make your stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was amazing especially with the views. The only thing is the room is right next to the restaurant and you can hear other guests and workers so it can be a bit loud.

Me and my family did a tour of Sri Lanka staying at 7 hotels over the 18 days. This was for me, the best hotel out of all of them. From the first moment we arrived, we were mesmerised by the layout of the complex. It looks amazing and very posh from the first impression!
The young men working for the hotel were all wearing traditional Sri Lankan uniforms. They were all very polite, professional and clearly knew about hospitality.
We were travelling with a private driver and they provided accommodation as well as breakfast to him free of charge!
We were welcomed with freshly made passion fruit juices (which were delicious!). The rooms were unbelievable- had AC, mosquito nets/repellent plugs, refridgerator, iron etc. The bathroom was also incredible. Very clean and professional. Felt like it was a 4-5 star standard easily!
The food was definitely one of the highlights for me. It was a traditional Singhalese Sri Lankan menu with lentils, sambar, appam and the most amazing Sri Lankan pancakes I've ever tasted in my life. I literally asked the waiter to tell them how amazing it was. The aunty came out and was beaming with joy- showing us the recipe and what goes into making it.
The overall hospitality of everyone at Hotel Freedom Village made it feel so homely. The owner even showed us around the grounds the next morning, letting us taste the fresh honey, mangoes from the trees etc.
We were sad to leave. This hotel is highly recommended for anyone staying in Dambulla!

Room was huge, super clean and the staff were warm and friendly. I only stayed one night, but the food was great for lunch and dinner. The place was a little more remote so it's nice and quiet!

Excellent accommodation both spacious and comfortable and spotlessly clean. Service was friendly and super efficient. best place in town for food which was both varied and of good quality at a very reasonable price.Hotel provides transport to and from Sigarya. We went with 5 other staying at the hotel and including an extension on to the caves cost 1000 rupees each.

Hotel well maintained. Dinner and breakfast very good. The swimming pool was average and would deserve some improvement... Umbrellas plants, etc... WiFi was very bad in my room

The family that run freedom village were brilliant. Friendly and helpful they even delivered us to our transport options and local places free of charge. Good room , good pool , great food . This place gets top marks ;- our best stay in Sri Lanka so far.

This property is a bit far out if you haven’t got a driver. In our case it was no problem as we had a driver but may be harder to get vehicle hire if not arranged before

Fantastic service!! They arranged drivers to take me to all the sights I wanted to see in the Cultural Triangle, and at the end of my stay drove me to the bus stop free of charge and made sure I got on the right bus to Kandy. The room was clean and spacious, with a couch to sit on and a balcony with a great view. Pool was very big and clean with a beautiful view and plenty of loungers to relax on and read a book. The dining area was also lovely - the buffet breakfast was great and changed daily (and they organised a packed breakfast for me when I wanted to get to Sirigiya early). There was also a la carte dinner available every evening. Its just a short walk to the main street if you need to get something, but far enough away from the traffic to feel very relaxed. A great place to stay in the Cultural Triangle!

The hotel is newer and in good condition overall. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel had a great pool area and wasn’t too long a walk to Dambulla. However, Dambulla seemed a bit run down. Not our favorite of places we have visited thus far in Sri Lanka. Hotel food was decent and would just recommend sticking around the hotel after touring Sigiriya, the Dambulla Caves, or anywhere else you travel during your stay.

Nice hotel with a lovely pool, breakfast was good and the hotel is only about 800 metres from the centre of town. We would definitely stop here again.

The staff was welcoming and friendly. The rooms are spacious and there is an outdoor pool where you can relax after a long day. The first dinner was a bit disappointing, we have ordered sri lankan meal for three people and what we got was much less than expected and in comparisson to other restaurants. The sauces were enough for one or at the most for two portion, but definatelly not enough for three. So basically we paid for plain boiled rice. That was the main reason to skip the next dinner there and to go at other restaurant. Anyway the breakfast was good. It happened that our last dinner also was at this restaurant, because we were tired after a long day exploring the Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle. This time we ordered different meals and the portions were big enough and very delicious. So overall we were happy with our stay there.

On arrival we were provided with a wonderful welcome drink and lovely cool flannels to wipe the humidity away. This is a relatively new hotel and was not that easy to find. Our driver had to phone to get directions. Our room was a very good sized double, a mosquito plug and tablets was provided. A/C was excellent. The room was at the end of the block and there was building going on across the way and also motor bikes parked next to our room - there was some noise from both. The hot water heater for the shower did not work, so no hot water, reported this and the entire unit was changed - excellent. Similarly not a good tv signal - tv was changed. Amazing. Food was a hot buffet for dinner, which we didn't want - we asked for and had omelette and chips. Nothing was too much trouble.

Beautiful hotel with great amenities. Staff were very accommodating and lovely. However, management wasn’t very pleasing, not that friendly nor welcoming. Food was delicious, views were great!
Great place to stay!!

A lovely hotel that hax a family-run feel. Staff couldnt have been more helpful in helping us arrange visits and dsys out. It was lively go come back to for time to relax by the pool.

From the time we arrived until we were taken to the bus station with the complimentary bus, everything was perfect. The whole hotel was very clean and modern. It was also very quiet as it is just out of town. We had the 4 course dinner which was delirious.

I stayed with Freedom Village Hotel for 2 nights and I really enjoyed my stay there. The service provided is way above and beyond for the price of this hotel. The staff were really genuine, friendly and were very eager to please.
The staff helped me plan my itinerary and arranged for the necessary transport at a competitive price. Also, they provided my partner and I with a refreshing glass of juice at the end of the day when we returned to the hotel which we totally appreciated.
I tried my luck and requested hoppers for breakfast for my third morning (which wasn't on the menu) and they actually prepared that for me! I was very grateful for that.
Their dinner menu is decently priced and they're delicious too. I absolutely loved the rice and chicken curry set. The accompanied vegetable dishes were fantastic!
The room while basic, is spacious and clean, and overall very comfortable.
There are a lot of insects in the area (not the hotel's fault, just the environment). However, they do provide a plug-in insect repellent, which you will NEED to use to ensure you sleep well. Don't be surprised to find dead insects on your floor in the morning when you wake up (killed from the repellent).
2.5
Excellent experience, the staff kindness and friendship is without paragon; tasty food with lots of natural ingredients, fruits and juices adds to the delight. The 20 by 10 meters long swimming pool is most enjoyable, the gardens perfectly kept as well as the facilities which are also well illuminated at night. The staff is very helpful in organizing and providing good advice for trips to various important sites. The hotel has a delivery service from and to the airport which is very convenient. It can considered as the 'base camp' for visiting nearby places which was my case and also as a superb place by itself for relaxation and enjoyment. Don't miss it...

We had a great stay at the hotel. Initially there was a mix up in the reservation but the manager made sure that we don’t suffer any delays and put us in a sister hotel for the first night. When we returned the next night they offered to treat us to dinner as apology. As much as we liked a free dinner that’s not the only reason why we liked this hotel. The room is very comfy with AC and fan and god amenities. Food is also great. Highly recommend. Hotel Manager Ajith steps out of his way to help with everything that you might need!
