Breakfast is outstanding. Not the tidiest area and the pool a little on the small side, but the hotel is good o eraill and the staff most helpful

Lovely modern hotel. Very noisy though might have just because we had a room with sea view so right by the road and on the second floor so could hear the chairs getting moved about above us very early. Good for being right in the centre though. The sunbed hogging is terrible, towels on there from before 7am and half the time the people disappeared and were not actually in the hotel! Thos is something the hotel need to address.

Best view of the port. Strategically located on the boardwalk. Plenty of parking and close to main road and super market. Excellent staff, would return for sure.

Reception staff was nice, but administrative staff very unfriendly, making a major issue the fact that room was booked for family members but the person who made the reservation is not staying in the room, which has never been an issue in any other country/hotel. Staff offloaded failures with internal procedures and admin issues on the clients, as if the client making the booking for others (family members) did this with some illicit intents. This approach of sorting internal admin issues is not professional. The room was also below expectation compared to price (almost 200 eur night), pictures and room class - indicated as partial sea view in fact it was 95% backyard/car park view. Staff also delays checkin despite rooms being ready. Overall bad admin services and procedures for the level of hotel advertised (4 star).

Old hotel but well kept, close to the port and the airport. No beach in front of property, but there is bus stop 50 m away from where you can catch a bus. Breakfast was good, but only filter coffee and no fresh orange juice. I found the hotel to be overpriced.

Be careful if you are booking this hotel.
We booked a standard room for five nights 31 May to 5 June. We were promised a “balcony or terrace” but what we got was a basement room opening onto a communal playing-field area. Zero privacy, children running up and down in front of everyone’s rooms, noise, basically everyone on top of everyone else.
We didn’t stay as the hotel was full and they could offer no alternative. We booked the Princess Skiathos Resort through Expedia and that was excellent.
Alkyon put the room back on their website and it was gone within 24 hours.
I asked for a reasonable refund given the hotel had misrepresented the details but the hotel manager claimed to have no power over such decisions and head office were no help whatsoever.
Expedia, who we booked through, were excellent throughout; however they were unable to influence the hotel to give us a reasonable refund even though Alkyon had re-let the room.
The hotel’s position in Skiathos town is excellent and if you don’t mind the proximity of other people right outside your room then I’m sure it’s fine. If you value your personal space, however, be very careful to check what you are actually getting. And don’t expect any help from management.

Great staff. Convenient location. Clean, A/C rooms. Generous breakfast buffet. Small pool, but we didn’t spend any time there. The majority of clientele appeared to be of retirement age which was a surprise.

Got stranded on the island due to bad weather. Hotel staff were lovely and made what could have been an awful night much better.

We chose the hotel for the location and also paid for a sea view. This hotel is stuck in a time warp, the location is wonderful. The breakfast is A JOKE! a toaster but no sliced bread! Cut up minute pieces of baguette, congealed scrambled eggs one morning and fried the next both unpleasant. No fresh fruit only water melon which you have to ask for, nothing is cooked to order and is mostly Luke warm.

The placement of this hotel is very good, a 10min walk away from the town centre and a short taxi ride from the airport. The staff are lovely and always happy to help. However, unfortunately the downsides do outweigh the upsides. We paid for bed and breakfast at the hotel, and breakfast was a buffet, help yourself style layout. Every single morning without fail, the hot items - fried eggs, bacon, sausages - were cold. The heaters they use to keep the food warm do absolutely nothing. And the quality of the food was not good, very oily and not tasty at all. We gave up in the last few days and had to spend extra money getting breakfast elsewhere. The hotel is in dire need of renovating, paint is peeling from the outside walls, broken tiles in the rooms and walls - it’s very much weathered. The beds are very hard so if you have back trouble beware. The room was clean, however the bathroom had build up of hair, soap scum and whatnot in the floor corners that had turned into black goo - not a pleasant sight. The in room fridge was also not cold at all.I appreciate this is a 3* so I’m not expecting miracles, but a hot breakfast and clean bathroom is surely a basic thing to get right. As above, the one thing I can’t fault is the staff. They are brilliant and always there when you need them. If you want a basic bed to rest your head at night then the Alkyon is an option, but avoid the breakfast.

When first arrived we were placed lower ground, no balcony but a patio facing a brick wall. We asked to be moved and was done straight away. Breakfast was poor and the so cold hot food was cold. Had no bottled beers or coffee choice although on menus. This was probably because it was nearing the end of the season. Eventually got bottled beers after I complained but no coffees as they said the suppliers had finished for the season????? Pool area was very dated and sun lounges filthy. Some staff were chatty and polite whilst others were ignorant and unfriendly. Wouldn’t stay here again in its present condition

The Alkyon is two blocks to the ferries, restaurants, shopping, and the port. Staff is very helpful. The pool and bar and little restaurant are on site and appealing. The buffet breakfast has a variety of food, and there is outside seating that overlooks the port. A wonderful dinner restaurant is 20 yards away. The only negative for me was the rock hard bed.
