Loved this quiet farm just outside Évora. Very nice and comfortable place. It had olive trees, grapes, horses, sheep, dogs, historical markers on property. Accommodations were 1st class 👍

We only overnighted here as part of a longer trip. The bedroom was large and tastefully decorated, although no fridge or kettle which we would have appreciated.
We took dinner with only one other couple which was disappointing as the food was excellent both for that meal and breakfast. Perhaps the hotel should push their dinner option more.

All I can say is WOW! Amazing, beautiful, unique, just a sensational experience that I feel very fortunate to have experienced. Miguel was so kind and it was so much fun getting to dine with the other guests. Only disappointment was that we planned only one night. Highly recommended!

Gorgeous place- much better than Convento Espinhero nearby- true feeling of Alentejo

Very quaint and beautiful farmhouse style accommodations on the outskirts of Evora. Absolutely beautiful!

So splendidly welcoming . Wish we had more time to meet and talk more about the history of this place.

Casa do Governador is a most pleasant small (7 rooms) agro-tourism hotel located in the countryside of the Alentejo Province. Manual and his staff are helpful and friendly. The surrounding landscape is gorgeous, especially the pool area and the various outside lounges near the main house.
Having a car is a must to stay. The town of Evora is at a 12 to 15 minutes drive. It’s a midsize town full of history. Worth visiting with a guide.

Lovely property - quiet, serene, and friendly staff! We had a lovely relaxing stay.

This is truly an amazing place in the country. Everything about it was perfect.

This was a really great place to stay on our visit to Évora. Easy to get to if you have a car and a nice opportunity to stay in a grand house in the countryside. We were lucky to have the whole property to ourselves (We came in December). They welcomed us with Portuguese tarts and cake and the breakfast was terrific. It was great to sit next to the fire in the evening. It even had it’s own Menhir on the property.

Could not have loved this place more! Beautiful property, cozy bed and room, kind welcoming staff, pool and delicious breakfast. At first we were a little worried that we should have stayed in Evora to properly enjoy the city but once we arrive at Casa do Governador I knew we had made the right call for a quiet relaxing stay! Wish we had stayed more than one night!

Exquisite property and lavish grounds, including vineyards, olive trees, cork trees and acres of countryside. VERY special breakfast - everything is made on premises and the baked goods are gourmet! Beautiful public rooms, outside spaces, walking paths, etc. An oasis that is totally secure and quiet! Beautifully furnished room with many thoughtful touches. Very close to town, but secluded.

The room was clean, and in good condition. But the breakfast situation was very poor. There were dirty cups set on the table, some small cups for jams were dirty, like unwashed, and there were ants running on the bread basket. The fruits that was served were not fresh and even the cheeses. I understand it was a country house, but it was poorly managed. Maybe they are short staff.

Don't know where to start to. Tranquility of property, amazing friendliness and attentiveness from the staff, delicious and very rich breakfast, extremely clean rooms with TV, AC, views of valley, spacious bathroom with wonderful shower, exceptional quality linens, nice and cozy outdoor area, pleasant pool with plenty of lounge chairs and nice shady area with sofas... 10 minutes to the center of the town. Name it. Best stay for our family of 4 with teenage kids in years

Lovely, well-maintained hotel set among orchards and various species of local trees. Sprawling patio with fragrant flowers, 2 swimming pools, delicious breakfast and spacious bathroom are just a few details which make this property special. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Of all of your venues during our ten-day visit to Portugal, Casa do Governador was our favorite location. The facility was warm and inviting, as was the staff. The food and wine selections were outstanding. Wonderful all around!

Excellent property, friendly staff. Very clean.

Beautiful property and hotel. Very comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast. Appreciated the warm greeting we received as well as the information about the history of the facility. Rainy weather did not allow for full enjoyment of the property. Property was not in Evora but a short drive from town. Nice to be in the country side.

Wonderful, wonderful location in the middle of vineyards. Quiet and secluded, with lovely walks on the property , including their own menhirs!

The property is beautifully located on vineyard close to old Evora

A beautiful property with tasteful decor and attentive service. A stone throw away from enchanting Evora but in a secluded rural serenity

After a horrible stay at another hotel, we arrived extremely early for check-in just so we could drop off bags while site seeing. We were met with a friendly greeting and we asked if we could pay to upgrade to a larger suite as we were remote working a lot and needed some extra space. The suite we upgraded to was amazing. My husband used the balcony space as his 'outdoor office' during our stay. The property is amazing, plenty of well appointed areas to lounge in, inside and out. There are 2 onsite pools, vineyard area, 3 friendly horses and 2 friendly goats! Loved every moment of our stay. Breakfast was very good and situated in an amazing space with views of the horses. We would love to return.

What an absolutely brilliant place to spend an amazing rural break! Can’t wait to be back back

We had a great time. Breakfast was delicious with some treats as well. The property is beautiful, particularly the large vila. Tomás was fantastic, great restaurant recommendations as well as making sure the fireplace was always on as we arrived in the evening. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Exceptional service. Beautiful grounds and buildings. Very comfortable. Staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. They gave us a tour of the property, told us about the history of the family and the area, gave us advice on things to do in Evora. We went on a walk around the priperty and they even let us feed the sheep, goats and horses. It was a very personalized experience.

The property is wonderful! The staff is great! The badroom was clean and cozy! The shower needs atention, too cold to face winter.

We stayed in the small house located a short walk from the house. The property is gorgeous as is the house and the decor. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were all very friendly! Overall, the vineyards and surroundings were very relaxing and we had a great stay. The pool looked very nice although it was too cold for us to use by mid-November. The property is close to Evora and only a short (<1 hour drive) to Monsaraz, which the staff recommended us to visit (very worth it!).

Beautiful property, lovely people. Would definitely go back.

We stayed for a night in the separate cottage on the property, and had a wonderful time. It’s secluded from the main house but still very close. The cottage is nestled amongst olive trees and grape vines and is incredibly peaceful. The pool area is beautiful and the house itself even more so. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and the staff were courteous and attentive. This is a fantastic way to visit Évora, located only a few minutes from town. Will stay again.

Charming re-purposed private villa. Friendly and helpful staff. Rustic location.

Fantastic working estate just 2 km outside Evora. Wonderful in every way.

The hotel phone number did not work. We were trying to reach and no one answered the phone. No one available at night if there was a problem. Sub- standard breakfast.
