I have been counting the days till now to write the best review ever for La Gitana. I spent 10 days with my family in a few places in Cuba; this one stood out by far. If you are looking for a fine family-run Casa Particular don't miss La Gitana. They are always there to give you the best service. From mouth-watering breakfasts to cleaning services, calling taxis, and giving your general guides on how to enjoy your time in Trinidad. Don't miss their amazing rooftop. There are a lot of benches and plantations up there for having a seat and enjoying the breeze as you watch the sunset on top of the city.

The location is great, Wendy (the host) is very friendly and cooks really good but keep in mind that nothing is free there. They'll try selling stuff to you everyday, like everyone in Cuba, making your stay a bit uncomfortable from time to time. So don't let the other people in the house fool you with parking or wine or anything else, making it seem like it's free. And do ask for prices beforehand, since it's not very cheap. Other than that, good food and good value for the room. Maybe they should change the mattresses though.. not comfortable at all

Very friendly family. Very clean. Free safe in the room. Good breakfast for $5. Most facilities (museums, shops etc.) in easy walking distance. Taxi ride to the beaches. Free town map available to non-residents from reception at the main hotel in town.Trinidad is a very interesting town with friendly people and we always felt very safe. Plenty of old American cars, Lada taxis, pedal taxis and horse-drawn traffic.

Great location, lovely hosts nice breakfast served on the outdoor patio. We were in Trinidad for 3 days and Wendy and her family could not have been nicer! They are amazing! ! They were right there at the front door to greet us, invited us to their rooftop New Years party, organized tours and collective taxi for us to our next destination. We had two separate rooms both with our own private bathroom and shower. The casa is lovely and we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you to Wendy and her family!!
