Lovely stay would go back.

We had an amazing view, the tub was great, there service was good and the food was enjoyable.
I appreciate a fan being included, and that the windows opened so you could listen to the ocean.
Stairs are a little steep, but other than that a great stay.

Pennhelig Arms is the perfect place to stay to explore the area. The staff, Adam, Barry, Ollie, and all others were friendly and kind for our entire stay. The bar and restaurant are cozy and convenient and the food tasty and well prepared, great fish and chips. Overall it was a very pleasant stay in Aberdovey.
If we could change one thing it would be that one night we returned just before 9 pm and the restaurant was open until 9:30 but the kitchen wouldn't cook anything because they shut down at 8 pm. Disappointed in that but all else was good.

Things have improved since our last stay about 18 months ago.
Room was clean & excellent view.
Staff were helpful
Exterior could do with some maintenance here & there but guess that’s down to Marston / Brains to sort out.
Overall a big improvement from previous visit
Breakfast is now a extra but good & decent price

The sea view apartment is located in a nice spot , it sleeps 6 people and very spacious ,nice upstairs bedroom and on suite, there is two sofa beds down stairs which could do with replacing as they were very uncomfortable to sit on as there were well worn, the outside was nice to sit on the balcony and chill but could do with a lick of paint . Staff was very nice and friendly and breakfast was nice

The staff at the Penhelig were great, so friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant was excellent, lots of choice and everything we had was delicious. Best omelette for breakfast i have ever had.
Can I suggest a mirror over the dressing table, as although a hairdryer is supplied, very difficult to use it with no mirror.
Outside of Hotel could do with a lick of paint and a little bit of TLC as the staff and quality of food deserve it.

Fantastic place. As described. Staff very helpful

Extremely Small. Everything from the stairway to the room was very small. Tiny, fragile bathroom. Barely enough room to walk around the bed.

amazing location - and if you travel by train the station is only 50 yards away !

We stayed in the two storey suite. Spotlessly clean. Upstairs bedroom and bathroom stunning.
The 2 sofa beds in downstairs room were very well worn and very uncomfortable. Definitely need replacing.
Stunning views from suite and added bonus of small outdoor terrace.

Liked our welcome and the staff were so helpful

We stayed here after having walked up Snowdon! We were exhausted and asked if we could have our dinner in our room, the Receptionist was really accommodating. As it was, after a lovely warm bath we felt able to use the stairs again and ate in the restaurant. The food was excellent and reasonably priced.
We stayed in room 1, a lovely large room with a sea view. The decor was tasteful and the bed was very comfortable.
The breakfast was delicious and the waitress was friendly and helpful.
Aberdovey was a lovely place and we will be returning in the Summer, hoping to do some local walks.
I cannot recommend The Penhelig Arms enough, we were genuinely impressed.

Hotel room was in need of spruce up. There were stains on the carpet and sofa. There were cobwebs on the ceiling and the drinking glass was dirty. When I offered my feedback to the receptionist she said she would pass the message on but there was no management around at check out.

I stayed with my little dog and we were made welcome and comfortable and will be going back.

Great location in a small seaside town. Clean, tidy and dog friendly rooms. Nice patio on the sea front.
Parking is difficult before 6pm.
On our first day we were refused food at 6pm by the bar man, due to large amount of bookings. Being a guest we would have expected to be accommodated.
Other than that, the rest of the staff were great and made you feel welcome.

It was very good apart from the stairs which were quite narrow and steep.
But otherwise no problems.

Was shown to my room and then I discovered that the tank on the WC kept running. Apparently a plumber had been called several days ago, but hadn't turned up. Thinking it would keep me awake, they upgraded me to a suite at no extra charge. Much appreciated.

We have been coming to Aberdovey for years and stayed at the Penhalig with various companies running it as there are very few pubs with rooms that fit the bill these days. I was bit disappointed with the food in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and think the breakfast lacked any imagination and I think the price of accommodation should include a breakfast as it always did As usual the staff were brilliant. The bar's men's toilet were not very fresh my husband told me, and I felt that the whole place needs an injection of funds to jack it up to its former standard. The staff as always were brilliant and I think you should value and treasure them as otherwise it would have been more of a let down.
