So close to airport. Check out casa de sopa one block away . Lola de carne. Also good is el pats on Colombian food. Pets welcome at the hostel for $10 usd.

Esteban was extremely helpful in getting me from my flight and to my shuttle the next day. The location was close to the airport, and the room was clean, comfortable, and inexpensive.

We stayed coming into San Jose Airport 1 day and 1 day going out ..It is a nice property for a day or 2 ,not alot to see except for park and catherdral nearby..Our shuttle picked us up early in La Fortuna,so we arrived there early...We contacted by WhatsApps and he let us in to store luggage..We needed to use the bathroom bad and he told we had to find someplace else to use ..Rooms were not available ..We were are older and cant hold it like we use too lol..If it had been me i would have offered to use one of rooms that hadnt been cleaned yet ...We had to walk 6 or 7 blocks to find a restaurant and eat there to use restroom ..That was only negative thing we had happen while in Costa Rica..

My travel partner and I had a great one night stay here at Alice y Juancito. Esteban was very courteous and welcoming. The location is like 12 mins from SJO which was extremely convenient. The neighborhood was walkable and not very touristy. As a matter of fact, we didn’t run into many tourists at all around here. The property itself is so cutely decorated and cozy, we felt very comfortable here. We’d absolutely stay here again.

This hotel was very close to the airport which was very convenient for us because we arrived a bit late in San Jose. We were flying out the next morning. They picked us up and took as back to the airport, were helpful, friendly, and provided a wonderful breakfast. The hotel is super cute with a nice courtyard and a dining space where guests can use the walls as a guestbook. Very cool!

Esteban was great. Picked us up at the airport, helped us settle in and answered our questions. Cozy, comfortable and perfect way to start our trip.

Great little hotel near the airport . Estaban was very helpful and he took us to the airport at 5 am. We stayed at this hotel when we arrived at and departed from Costa Rica and would recommend this hotel .

Our host was really helpful and organized a taxi ride and our getting a SIM card from the wonderful lady next door. The self service breakfast was perfect . We will stay here again on our way home as it is convenient for the airport . Very reasonably priced too.

The owner was great and super helpful. He even drove us to the airport at 4:30 am. Hotel is cute and we liked the grassy courtyard and common spaces plus breakfast all day.

A great first night stop after evening flight arrival. Previously the owner's parents home with guest rooms of covered courtyard and garden. Self-cook breakfast... a little sparse and not enough eggs to go round! Overall a really great vibe

Never ever book in this hotel. They don't know how to treat people. Our flight was delayed and I informed the hotel about that. We spent the whole night at the airport finally we arrived and the hotel didn't allow us to check-in.

The property was perfect for us! We had our own room and bath but shared an entire home! Kitchen, living room and ding room! Along with a beautiful court yard! Many places around to walk to, they helped us plan some sight seeing tours and were all round kind and considerate! EXCELLENT ON ALL COUNTS!!

Perfect for a quick stay when just arriving or prior to leaving. Clean and easy. The family are awesome and helped us by picking us up at the airport/dropping us to the car rental and back again. We look forward to staying again on our next visit. Thanks

They were so helpful! Offered to pick us up from the airport even though it was late coming in, and brought us to rental car agency the next day. Clean, great breakfast, and really kind people. Would definitely stay again.

We only staid here for a night but it was very cozy ! They picked us up from the airport at 11pm and took us to our room. Very quiet place with friendly staff and other guests. You make your own breakfast with what they have in the communal kitchen and the freshly cut pineapple and papaya were a big plus.

This hotel is a 5 minute drive to juan santamaria (SJO) airport. Really convenient if you arrive but especially before departure as traffic in san jose can be quite unpredictible.
This hotel is a hidden gem. Anonymous facade from a previous familly house, you wouldn't know it's an hotel until you get in. It's more than a hotel imo, it feels like home with a communal kitchen and a lush and peaceful garden for the 8 or 10 rooms around it. It felt safe and welcoming. The only hotel where other guests were also friendly even if most only stay for a day.
The owner personally welcomes each guests, even though I was a little stressed out from the no parking in front and trying to find parking. if you do have a car, ask the owner where to park, he has an agreement with another lot for discounted parking (2.5k colo nes per 12 hours, which less expensive than other public parqueos that scams tourists)
Beds are the most comfortable in the 8 rented locations in 3 weeks.
There is Kolbi store to the left to get a sim card or recharge one can be useful. Super compro (food store) around the block and several other boutiques.
Not much to do besides the magnificient cathedral, the free museum, and the boutiques. I liked the 2nd hand libray Goolight books that has books in english, german, french and spanish.
Bottom line - this place is a hidden gem

Great place - really clean and nice. Great customer service. The bed and AC and room in general were perfect. Really nice. This place is way better than the overpriced chain hotels near the airport so I was thrilled with my decision. It was really quiet at night - you would never know you are in a city.

We stayed only 1 night as we needed a place close to the airport for our flight the next day. Loved the shared space which was so clean and well presented. The outdoor patio with the little fountain was calming. If only we had more time to enjoy this space. The all day breakfast is a bonus with sliced fruit in the fridge and eggs (make your own), bread, coffee, tea, etc. Probably the cleanest place we stayed at in all of Costa Rica. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and communication was seamless. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

I stayed here for one night after arriving on a late flight. They collected me from the airport and communicated well throughout. Nice, clean and comfortable room. Safe location and friendly staff. A great place for a convenient stay near the airport. Thank you!

This place was great. It was so welcoming and warm. I felt like I had gone back in time. Everything was old-fashion and authentic. It was unique in itself. Nice and clean. I wish I had had more time to spend there. The hotel boutique has a really great history behind it. I loved it. It has a really unique way of checking in. I really liked that.
I do suggest that you use a parking lot to park your rental car. There is one not far away from the site.
The hosts were very helpful with an unfortunate situation we had. I appreciated that. They also offer airport drop-off for $5. Which is great. I´d definitely stay there again.

We stayed here only one night to conclude our trip to Costa Rica. It's a quaint place that is nice and comfortable, with owners who truly care about its upkeep and the customer's experience. It's within walking distance to a lot in downtown Alajuela. There's a self-serve kitchen (access to a fridge, stove, cookware, etc.), an indoor dining area, a small outdoor courtyard, and a convenient laundry service. Esteban was welcoming and accommodating to our needs, and also provided a cheap and easy transportation to the airport the following morning. If you are looking for a small place that is clean, comfortable, and close to the airport, then this is a very nice option.

Highly recommend Alice y Juancito if you are looking to stay close to the airport! The place is very clean, charming, inviting and comes with yummy breakfast and incredibly kind and responsive host! We landed late at night and our host picked us up from the airport for $5.

Great place for the price. Super friendly host, and very charming! We were a little bummed that the tours weren't available and some signage on the front would have been very helpful.
