I will never stay here again. The bathroom looked like something out of a horror movie

We had a great room. Until we got the young people in room 356 we were 358 and all of a sudden. We had a large family come who party all night. Played loud music. Visitors in and out room slamming the door. We couldn't here ourselves nor the television

It’s a little rough
Things need to be painted and repaired.
They got me in an hour earlier than my check in time which was nice.

Stayed overnight for an early AM flight out of Tampa. Location was great, feet away from the Beach and the pool was excellent!!!

The room was disgusting black mold in shower , broken tile
Toilet flange exposed!! Smelled like someone was smoking and heavily deodorized!! The room look like it was the 70’s !!!

Very nice staff and this resort (on the beach) came in a pinch after I booked the wrong dates at a different resort! It was nice and the pool was nice with a variety of rafts and little things for kids to play with. Only 3 main suggestions (and this may be in the works, I did not inquire about it and did see a lot of workers there on Friday. But - 1) there is not a phone in the room (at least not in our room); 2) there was only one television in the living room and not one in the bedroom; 3) go to an electronic key system so guests don’t have to triple lock (I’m very serious bc they had a regular key that opened the door to the room and then a bolt lock and a chain lock - don’t get me wrong, I was very pleased with the extra locks). Also, just one side suggestion - curtains over the blinds would be nice bc there are clear spots ppl can see in the living room and then the bedroom due to the amount of sun at 7-8am. Other that I was very pleased and couldn’t beat the price!!!!! Thank you to all who made our stay nice and worthwhile!!!

Cleanliness was not a priority, elevator smelled like burnt rubber and very old and outdated. No plug outlets, door not secure and staff was not friendly at all. I would not recommend

Right on the beach!!

Got charged for a unused day, and the shower wouldn't turn off. There was a foreign person apparently working there eating a bag of plantains and left his trash on the nightstand while he was trying to fix the tub. We didn't want to stay another night instead of getting a different room. Would prefer a refund on unused day

Previously would stay here for years, years ago. Property has gone down, front office staff is AWFUL and extremely limited parking. Place needs a lot of work. Spend a little more money and stay somewhere that has parking, housekeeping and a decent staff.

This property appears to be a fix-up enough to get by. This isn't a resort at all, it's a motel. This is a little town struggle motel sitting next to much better hotels. The price is expensive compared to the quality of the building, the service was decent ( as far as if you needed towels, just go to the desk to pick up) no room cleaning during your stay.

The customer service at the front desk was horrible. They didn't acknowledge your existence and didnt even respond when spoken to, like when we said good morning walking through the lobby. This was the manager too. They seemed annoyed if you asked for towels or anything else you had to ask them for. The floor wasnt clean but otherwise it was. The housekeeping and maintenance staff were very nice and approachable.

The property was partially upgraded but was disappointed looked nicer when booking then in person

Pros: Good gulf view; daily clean beach towels; nice beach area; helpful staff
Cons: Dirty floors; unsafe rickety balcony; limited parking at resort (overflow across the street); thin, small towels

Clean and adequate. The parking lot is small and the overflow is a ways away. The rooms are large, but old and worn.

Location is excellent! Room was not the cleanest- stains on couch, crumbs and spills on the floor.

Terrible smells, weird little bugs crawling around, and VERY unclean. I NEVER complain about stays but this one has to be rated for people to know DON’T do it. The convenience of having the beach in walking distance didn’t make a difference and totally wasn’t worth it! The price of comfort in this situation matters the most. We took our bags in to get comfortable and took them right back out to the car. Matter fact we almost just slept in the car.

Wonderful stay! Jose was amazing; very friendly and accommodating for anything we needed! Perfect price for right on the beach with a balcony! Already planning another trip for later this year!

I wasn't expecting anything fancy but I was expecting it to be clean and at least feel secure in my room.
The hotel uses "old fashioned keys." There were 2 extra locks on the inside of the door besides the push button on the door handle, neither of them worked.
The floors were dirty. There were hairs on the shower curtain. It looked like the coffee maker had never been cleaned. I also found a stain on the blanket...

This hotel was built in the 60s so it’s obviously dated. But you can’t beat the location for the price. Right on the beach, shopping, food nearby. It wasn’t loud at night. Great spot for the price!

Up graded for a water view room this trip and well worth it! Rooms were tidy and functional but in need of a deep cleaning and furniture replacement. Miss not having equipped kitchenette for snack prep. Enjoyed using the shaded lounge area overlooking the beach.

Beautiful spot right on the beach. Staff are friendly and accommodating. I’ll definitely be staying again!

Place was older but well kept and clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Would stay again. The only issue we had was parking. They don’t regulate who parks in the lot. You have a parking pass but people were using it for beach parking as well so paying guests would have to park across the street

This place has Nostalgia for us. I've been coming here with my family since I was a little kid. Staff is always super nice. Only wish they didn't get ride of the kitchen. We love to cook and can't anymore.

The room we had was ocean front with an incredible view. This would be the main reason to choose Sandalwood Beach Resort.
The suite we had was very outdated and the sleeper sofa needs to be replaced. Although there is a kitchenette, there were no dishes, cutlery, etc. They offered paper plates and plastic utensils at the front desk upon request - which you would have to get yourself.
The huge problem is limited parking and having to
walk across a four lane highway to park behind a surf shop that is dark at night, which is unsafe. This was not mentioned on the website, as well as the $15 additional fee for parking across the street.
We were not greeted nicely and the front desk. The employee (Peter) was insulting, rude and really should not be representing this resort.
Now Joshua, who we met upon checkout, was incredibly nice, helpful, friendly, and should be commended for his professionalism.
I would recommend Sandalwood Beach Resort if the cost is lowered, a parking space is available on the hotel grounds, and Joshua is the person you are greeted by upon arrival.

If I could give zero stars I probably would, aside from the fact that we happened to be there on a day where the water of North Redington Beach happened to be super calm and clear. The property is old and desperately needs revamping. The luggage cart barely fits in the elevator and we had to send everyone up the stairs. The front desk clerk was nice enough. The room was not as described, we booked a two queen room and the listing stated there was a sofa bed which there was not. The beds are cheap and uncomfortable as were the linens. The pillows were flimsier than the ones at the hospital I work at. This is a place to visit if you’re in college or in your 20s looking for something cheap on the beach that will get the job done of being a place to crash after a day on the beach followed by a night out at the local bars, but definitely not a place to bring your family.

When I first walked in the place there was doors missing on the pool area and looked like a prison cell. Very poor maintenance and smelled like an ash tray. The pictures on the page are nothing compared to seeing it up close and personal the staff was very rude and this place I would not recommend for a family trip and especially bringing children. The kids not good thing this place had was it was right on the beach other than that This place was very horrible and unsafe. It was so bad that I didn’t care about losing my money on booking this place which was like 679 dollars and rebooked a different stay and it payed extra money not to stay there. I lost the money for booking there but was ok because at the end of the day where I stayed I felt safe and comfortable

Everything was perfect except the water pressure in the shower was weaker than I like but it did the job

Amazing view and large balcony. Comfy new beds. Really nice new bathrooms. Just need better water pressure

I have been booking through Expedia for many years and booking this room off of Expedia has me rethinking. This place and my room was full of mold and filthy. The front desk staff was not friendly at all. When he gave me the room keys I went to my room and within thirty minutes as was back at the front desk with my eyes swelling up and a bit of a hard time breathing. I said to the staff that there was no way I could stay there do to my allergies with mold. I asked for a refund or partial and he laughed and said there will be no refund. I left crying and had to find another place to stay. I was so blessed to find a new place that was clean and safe to stay at. I am so disappointed at Expedia for even entering this motel. Someone needs to investigate this place because honestly I can’t believe they are even allowed to stay opened.
