Very comfortable and modern hotel just a few minutes walking from Takayama station. Very friendly welcome and staff, small but lovely (bath)room with separate wc. Café on ground flour is perfect for breakfast and lunch. 5 stars well deserved!

Despite the photo and map we walked past the hotel twice before we realized it was behind the curtain. Once we found it everything was great. The room was comfortable and in good condition. You have to get used to having the bathroom light come on when you open the door and the toilet seat popping up. We have a traditional hinoki tub in our house so this one felt almost like plastic - but it looked good and had a great shower. The hotel provided two bottles of water and drip coffee. We heard no noise from the road and there were only two other rooms on our floor.

This is an amazing boutique hotel. There are 12 rooms on 6 floors with reception and an excellent restaurant on the ground level. My room was quiet, clean, comfortable, and attractive/very well-designed. I opted to pay for a first-rate breakfast with the room -- the panini of the day, a salad, a mixed berry banana smoothie, and yogurt with granola. Loved it. All of the food at the restaurant was excellent. Plus they serve alcohol. The only drawback to the restaurant is that it closes at 5 pm. The staff are uniformly pleasant and hard-working. The location can't be beat - 5 minutes the the train station and within easy walking distance of most tourist sites.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect. It was very close (walking distance) to the Takayama Station & the Bus Station (for Shirokawago), and also walking distance to the old town area. The room is very efficiently laid out with a hinoki-like tub and shower room with a separate toilet (washlet) room and a separate little tea/coffee area. It has an open-style closet with a clothes hanging rod and shelf for luggage. The beds were a little hard for me, but I know the Japanese/Asian guests like hard beds. I like that they had 2 different types of pillows: one soft and one harder with beads on one side. My room came with breakfast and 2 free drinks from the Hid's Cafe & Bar. The food was excellent and the cafe latte was superb!!!

A relatively small comfortable room; separate washroom and bathroom which look quite new. 1 coin laundry machine available on our floor (w 3 units). In-room amenities are great, including steam iron and iron board. Convenient location.

The hotel is almost directly across from the train and bus station making it very convenient. The staff were very kind and welcoming. The traditional soaking tub was wonderful, since the weather was cold and sometimes rainy.

Charming hotel with only 12 rooms, about 5 minutes' walk from Takayama train station, 10 minutes' walk to the center of the city. I stayed on the 6th floor, beautifully decorated room and spacious. Breakfast is cooked to order by very friendly staff. Loved my entire stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at eph Takayama. Close to the train station/ bus station, quiet and quaint hotel. Laundry facilities were accessible right outside our room (VERY convenient!!). The room was nice and the bathroom was gorgeous with a wooden interior. The hotel provided a fantastic handmade breakfast. Delicious!! We would absolutely stay here again.

This hotel seems new and if very close to the train station. There was no hotel parking but many paid parking lots nearby. The breakfast was nice and also had lunch one day which was also delicious. The staff is so helpful and kind. The room is spacious and has many nice features. The beds are comfortable and did not hear any noise from the streets or other rooms. I would recommend and stay again if in Takayama.

The hotel was newly build hotel. The interior and exterior design was simple, chic yet modern. If you are looking for a bigger space, this hotel is not for you! Especially if you are traveling with kids. It’s a very small room with twin bed, limited space to move but it’s comfortable enough to sleep. But if you are traveling by yourself or a couple without kids, this might be a good place to stay. The hotel is very close to Takayama Station, 3 mins walk. Very close to a convenience store, you won’t feel hungry at night! They offer complimentary breakfast, which is good! :) Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Takayama.
