Yanet’s place was an excellent choice for me in Viñales because if its location (walkable to centre of town) but mostly I recommend it because of Janet. Upon my arrival she set me up on a horse tour with an excellent guide (to be picked up in 30 minutes) and was also offered to arrange other activities (trip to the beach, which I declined). I enjoyed the meals (breakfast and dinner) she made for me over my three day stay.

Yanet and her mom are the nicest hosts ever. She even arranged us a tour in the valley. The room is very nice as on the photos, clean, breakfast and dinner was plenty and incredibly tasty. Yanet can also make amazing Daiquiri :) We have been treated not as guests but family/friends. They helped us with literally everything and made sure we are having a great time, which we absolutely did. I can only can recommend this accomodation

They are the most lovely hosts I’ve had in Cuba. The home is comfortable, well kept, and very clean. Location quiet as it is off the main street but also short walking distance to the bus station. There’s also view of the mountains from the balcony. Highly recommended.

The place is right by the bus stop and the main part of town. The room is big, with AC, and there was always hot water. Yanet is a great host and goes out of her way to help you with whatever you need.

Yanet welcomed me into her family home with open arms. She met me at the bus station and arranged excursions so that I could enjoy my time in Viñales without worry. Her family patiently helped me practice Spanish while giving me space to relax and enjoy the view of the Mogotes right from the balcony. Their home is very clean, comfortable, and the room had it's own fridge with cool water which was a welcome treat on hot afternoons. I ate breakfasts and dinners at their table, and Yanet packed me a lunch for my trip to the beach. The food was delicious and very clearly made with love. I can't recommend enough.

Our stay at the casa (we ended up staying 4 nights) was a very memorable one. Yanet and Maritza welcomed us with a superb amount of hospitality and made us feel like part of the family - just to give you an example: Yanet already waited for us at the bus station to guide us to their beautiful home.
Also the food was very good as Maritza is a trained cook. Afterward dinner we usually sat at the balcony contemplating at the picturesque mountains sometimes with a home-made Mojito.
Yanet helped us to organize all our activities. One day her husband gave us a very informative walking tour through the nearby valleys including a visit to a cave and a local coffee/cigar fabric where we learned a lot about the manufacturing process and bought some souvenirs at a fair price.
One day we spent at the amazing beach Playa Cayo Jutías which was worth the intense taxi ride. We can recommend the very economic canopy tour (4 different rides for a few dollars in total) and the painted wall - both attractions we visited with rented bycicles.
Muchas grácias por todo e un abrazo!

The house was like home. The host was very friendly and very talkative, offering to make breakfast/dinner (very delicious lobster plus many other dishes for 10€ per person, in a very touristic place with not so good options to eat outside, as in other cities). Also helping with arranging excursions (although it is not so difficult to arrange them by yourself if you walk in the main street of Viñales).
And a great view from the balcony.
Thank you very much for everything.

Staying with Cuban families instead of in mass / luxury tourist facilities can of course present a few more challenges, but is much more rewardable. Yanet and Maritza are very friendly and helpful hosts. Maritza's meals (I had four) were delicious and the best of my trip in Cuba, and Yanet makes excellent cocktails (I had loads!).The room was comfortable, with a good bathroom, air conditioning, fridge, and lovely views over some of Viñales' mogotes. The location in a block if flats with a few easy stairs is very close to the main street in Viñales. Internet connection is the only slight deficiency, but this is due to internet issues generally in Cuba; you just have to ask the hosts to be connected.
